Strawweight Queen of Pancrase Champion Haruka “Salt” Hasegawa makes her second Rizin FF appearance on June 14th at Rizin Fighting Federation: “Landmark Vol. 11” in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Hasegawa faces two-time Deep Jewels interim title challenger Machi Fukuda on the card.

The strawweight matchup was officially announced this week. Hasegawa’s debut for the promotion ended in a quick submission defeat two years ago. She now seeks redemption in the bout against Fukuda, who is a perfect 2-0 for Rizin including a dominant TKO victory at Rizin FF 50 in March.

Much like she did eight years ago, Ye Ji Lee scored another high-profile upset victory over a top-ranked Japanese opponent tonight at Deep: “125 Impact” in Tokyo, Japan. The 25-year-old defeated Deep and Deep Jewels Microweight Champion Saori “Little Giant” Oshima in an atomweight bout.

Lee, who first rose to fame in Japan in March 2017 when she shockingly defeated former Deep and Smackgirl champion Satoko Shinashi, nullified Oshima’s submission attempts tonight and largely controlled the grappling battles en route to winning two out of three rounds on the scorecards.

Headlined by a rescheduled super atomweight bout between Namiko “Hime” Kawabata and former Pancrase champion Honoka Shigeta, eight fights are now confirmed for Deep Jewels 49, which takes place on May 25th in Tokyo, Japan. Officials announced seven new fights for the card on Monday.

Kawabata and Shigeta were first booked to face each other at Deep Jewels 48 one month ago, but the fight was postponed when Shigeta sustained an injury. Among the other matchups announced for Deep Jewels 49 is a 58kg co-main event between Aoi Kuriyama and Yuka “Dosukoi” Okutomi.

Former Road FC champion Yu Ri Shim will compete in her home country of South Korea when she makes her third Rizin FF appearance on May 31st at Rizin Fighting Federation: “World Series In Korea.” Shim faces popular Japanese star Keito “Kate Lotus” Oyama in a super atomweight matchup.

Rizin officials announced the bout earlier this week. Shim debuted for the promotion in March 2024, but she remains in search of her first Rizin victory after falling to both Rena Kubota and Ayaka Hamasaki. Oyama also lost to Kubota in her Rizin debut, but she won both of her Deep bouts in 2024.
