UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex “Poatan” Pereira retained his title with a second-round TKO victory on June 29th at UFC 303 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stepping in on short notice, Pereira defeated Jiří “BJP” Procházka in a rematch from November, which had also ended in a Pereira win.

One night earlier at Invicta Fighting Championships 55 in Kansas City, Kansas, Talita Bernardo successfully defended her bantamweight title with a second-round submission win against “Big Bad” Olga Rubin, and Andressa “Gauchinha” Romero upset Saori “Little Giant” Oshima at atomweight.
