In Deep Jewels lightweight tournament semi-final action, Emi Tomimatsu avenged a close decision loss by defeating Mika “Future Princess” Nagano in today’s rematch. Teen prodigy Mizuki Inoue advanced to the tournament final by defeating Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino for the second time.

Jessica “Evil” Eye kicked off her UFC career with a huge victory on October 19th at UFC 166: “Velasquez vs dos Santos 3” in Houston, Texas. Eye defeated former Strikeforce champ Sarah Kaufman in a closely-contested fight, and she now enters the top five in the 135-pound women’s rankings.
Earlier in October, Jessica “Jag” Aguilar remained on top of the 115-pound women’s strawweight ranks with a disappointing win over Megumi “Mega Megu” Fujii in a rematch that ended as a result of an eye poke. In men’s action, Cain Velasquez and Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida earned key wins.

A quarterfinal bout between Team Rousey’s Anthony “Sharkbait” Gutierrez and Team Tate’s Cody Bollinger was scrapped when Bollinger was unable to make weight at 135 pounds. Gutierrez received a bye to the next round. Following the Moras-Morgan bout, the semi-final fights were announced.

Brazilian prospect Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade spoiled the hometown return of Rosi “The Surgeon” Sexton today at UFC Fight Night 30: “Machida vs Munoz” in Manchester, England. Andrade showcased her striking skills en route to a one-sided Unanimous Decision win on the preliminary card.
Andrade was dominant from start to finish in the bantamweight battle and she battered and bloodied Sexton with hard punches. Sexton showed her resilience and fired back with punches of her own, but she was unable to stop Andrade’s offensive onslaught and the Brazilian earned a big victory.

“Little” Patricia Vidonic took a step back towards the strawweight top ten with a hard-fought Split Decision win tonight at Pacific Xtreme Combat 40 in Mangilao, Guam. Vidonic narrowly edged out former Valkyrie champion “V.V” Mei Yamaguchi in the 115-pound co-main event on the PXC 40 card.
Yamaguchi started off strong and she controlled much of the opening round on the feet and on the ground, but she began to tire as the fight progressed and Vidonic scored with takedowns and submission attempts. Yamaguchi rallied late in round three, but it was not quite enough to steal back the win.

Eye and Kaufman engaged in an action-packed back-and-forth bout on the feet for three rounds tonight and both fighters landed hard shots. Kaufman came on strong in the third round and stunned Eye with punches, but the rally was not quite enough and Eye picked up her biggest win to date.
