Also tonight, Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson took on Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard in a lightweight matchup. Unbeaten light heavyweight Jimi “The Poster Boy” Manuwa battled Ryan “The Big Deal” Jimmo at 205 pounds. MMARising.com has live play-by-play for UFC Fight Night 30.

 

Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida vs “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Mark Munoz

Round 1:
Both fighters were cautious in the opening two minutes and neither landed anything damaging. Machida scored with two body kicks and he began to pick up the pace. A vicious head kick from Machida dropped Munoz to the canvas and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Lyoto Machida by KO (Head Kick) at 3:10 of round one. He improves to 20-4-0.

 

Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson vs Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard

Round 1:
Guillard countered early leg kicks from Pearson with quick right hands. He landed a hard one-two and Pearson responded with a lead left hook. A right hook and a knee scored for Guillard and he caught a flying knee from Pearson. Guillard took Pearson down and cut him with two knees as Pearson stood up. Time was called to verify whether Guillard’s second knee strike was legal. Pearson had his hand down and the second knee was deemed to be illegal. Pearson was badly cut on the forehead and the fight was stopped.

Result: No Contest (Illegal Knee) at 1:57 of round one. Pearson moves to 15-6-0, 1 NC, while Guillard is now 54-13-3, 2 NC.

 

Jimi “The Poster Boy” Manuwa vs Ryan “The Big Deal” Jimmo

Round 1:
Jimmo pressed Manuwa up against the cage early on and Manuwa countered with knees to the body. The fighters were separated, but they soon clinched again and exchanged more knees. Manuwa landed hard knees to the left thigh. Manuwa broke away and landed kicks to the body and lead left hooks. Jimmo countered Manuwa’s leg kicks with a nice right hook before the bell. 10-9 Manuwa.

Round 2:
Jimmo countered early strikes from Manuwa in round two by clinching against the fence. The fighters broke apart and Manuwa landed knees and standing elbows. He opened a cut on Jimmo’s forehead between the eyes. Back in the clinch, Manuwa landed a knee that strayed low and time was called. Action resumed and Jimmo held Manuwa against the cage again as the crowd booed. Manuwa tried to throw Jimmo to the mat and he landed a hard knee. Jimmo’s leg buckled under him and he fell to the ground. The fight was stopped due to Jimmo’s injury.

Winner: Jimi Manuwa by TKO (Leg Injury) at 4:41 of round two. He improves to 14-0-0.

 

“Stormin'” Norman Parke vs Jon “Super Saiyan” Tuck

Round 1:
Parke jabbed and flurried with punches early on. Tuck landed two solid knees and pressed forward with punches, and he struck Parke in the eye in the process. The fight continued and more punches were exchanged. Both fighters landed leg kicks and just missed with head kick attempts. A nice left cross landed for Parke and he began to taunt. Parke clinched and suplexed Tuck to the mat just before the bell. Close opening round. 10-9 Parke.

Round 2:
Tuck slowed down and Parke scored at will with jabs and one-twos in the second round. He landed a series of left crosses as Tuck tired and backed up. Parke picked Tuck apart throughout the round with more quick punches and occasional kicks. He scored with more left hands and kept Tuck on the defensive. Parke finished the round with two more left hooks. 10-9 Parke.

Round 3:
It was more of the same in the opening minute of round three as Parke picked his shots with jabs and one-twos. Tuck finally fired back with a combination, but his offence was short-lived. Parke knocked Tuck’s mouthpiece out and landed more punches as Tuck replaced it. Parke landed body kicks and left hands. With one minute to go, he attempted a head kick and landed a two-punch combo to the body and head. He attempted flashy head kicks before the bell. 10-9 Parke.

Winner: Norman Parke by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 19-2-0.

 

Nicholas “Nico” Musoke vs Alessio “Legionarius” Sakara

Round 1:
Sakara rocked Musoke with a right hook and took him down right away. Musoke stood and staggered Sakara with a one-two. Huge punches were exchanged and Musoke stunned Sakara again. Musoke took Sakara down and fought off a triangle choke attempt. He tried to take Sakara’s back, but Sakara wound up on top and dropped hard punches. Musoke locked on an armbar from the bottom and Sakara immediately tapped out.

Winner: Nicholas Musoke by Submission (Armbar) at 3:07 of round one. He improves to 11-2-0, 1 NC.

 

John “Hands of Stone” Lineker vs Phil “Billy” Harris

Round 1:
Both fighters landed chopping leg kicks and looping hooks in the opening minute. Lineker dropped him with a right hand, but Harris quickly returned to his feet. Lineker staggered him with a left hook and dropped him with a right. Harris stood again and ate more shots. A right hook to the stomach finally put Harris down for good and the fight was stopped.

Winner: John Lineker by KO (Punch To The Body) at 2:51 of round one. He improves to 23-6-0.
