Shooto held its fifth all-female Colors event tonight at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. The nine-fight Shooto: “Colors 5” card was headlined by a strawweight matchup between promotional veteran Momoka Hoshuyama and 17-year-old prospect Atsuhi Takada, who turned pro in December.

Namiko “Hime” Kawabata overcame a tough first round and an opponent who missed weight en route to earning her second straight win tonight at Deep Jewels 49 in Tokyo, Japan. Kawabata finished former Pancrase champion Honoka Shigeta with a triangle armbar in the 49kg main event.

In the 58kg co-feature, Yuka “Dosukoi” Okutomi made a successful return to Deep Jewels and scored a one-sided Unanimous Decision victory over Aoi Kuriyama, who was riding a four-fight winning streak. The performance was a crucial one for Okutomi, who had struggled since her last win in 2023.

Deep Jewels strawweight contender Machi Fukuda improved to 2-0 under the Rizin banner with a dominant second-round stoppage win tonight at Rizin Fighting Federation 50 in Takamatsu, Kagawa, Japan. Fukuda finished Seo Young Park late in the second round of their featured bout.

Fukuda engaged in a striking battle with Park during the opening round of the bout between the 21-year-olds, but she shifted strategies in round two and battered her Korean foe with ground and pound en route to the victory, which extended Fukuda’s current streak of stoppage wins to three.

20-year-old Moeri Suda scored the biggest victory of her mixed martial arts career in a major upset tonight at Deep Jewels 48 in Tokyo, Japan. Suda submitted former Jewels, Rizin FF and Invicta FC champ Ayaka Hamasaki with a rear-naked choke in the 49kg super atomweight main event.

Neither Suda nor Hamasaki were originally slated to compete on tonight’s card, but both stepped in when the initial headlining bout was cancelled last month. Suda, who has now earned submission wins in four of her past five fights, made the most of the opportunity with her massive victory tonight.

Rising star Fumika Watanabe needed just over two minutes to capture the Flyweight Queen of Pancrase title tonight in the main event of Pancrase 352 in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. The 25-year-old Watanabe knocked out champion Shizuka Sugiyama, who was unsuccessful in her first defence.

Watanabe, who has racked up three straight wins since dropping a narrow Split Decision in her pro debut, claimed the belt with a nasty right hook. Also on the card, former Deep Jewels champ Miki Motono narrowly outpointed current Shooto titleholder Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino at strawweight.
