Brazilian standout Kalindra Faria captured her first major title outside of her home country with a dominant decision victory tonight at Titan Fighting Championship 41 in Coral Gables, Florida. Faria defeated Carina “Barbie” Damm again to become Titan FC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Faria, who typically competes between 115 and 125 pounds, moved to 2-1 against rival Damm with a clear-cut victory in tonight’s main event. She outstruck Damm on the feet in all five rounds and controlled the action on the ground en route to capturing Titan FC’s inaugural women’s title.

Former Deep Jewels champion Seo Hee Ham seeks her second UFC win when she steps back inside the Octagon on October 15th at UFC Fight Night 97: “Lamas vs Penn” in Pasay, Manila, Philippines. Ham is set to face off against KOTC titleholder “Dynamite” Danielle Taylor at strawweight.

UFC officials announced the matchup this past week. Ham is coming off of a contentious decision loss to “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings at UFC Fight Night 85 in March. Taylor made her Octagon debut this past month and dropped a razor-thin Split Decision to rising star Maryna “The Iron Woman” Moroz.

Bantamweight prospect Ashlee Evans-Smith picked up her second straight UFC victory tonight at UFC Fight Night 93: “Arlovski vs Barnett” in Hamburg, Germany. Evans-Smith stopped previously undefeated Octagon newcomer Veronica Macedo, who stepped into the fight on very short notice.

Evans-Smith overcame a shaky start on the feet in the opening minute and dominated the remainder of the bout in the clinch and on the mat. She repeatedly thwarted Macedo’s kneebar attempts and ultimately finished the Venezuelan with a barrage of elbow strikes midway through the third round.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship came to the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany today for UFC Fight Night 93: “Arlovski vs Barnett.” The event was headlined by a heavyweight contender’s bout between former champions Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski and Josh “The Warmaster” Barnett.

In the light heavyweight co-feature, Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson returned to the Octagon to face Jan Blachowicz. Also at 205 pounds, Ryan “Darth” Bader took on Ilir “The Sledgehammer” Latifi, and “Sergeant” Nick Hein battled “The Korean Cowboy” Tae Hyun Bang in lightweight action.

Grappling sensation Demian Maia made a strong case for a welterweight title shot with a big victory on August 27th at UFC on FOX 21 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Maia quickly submitted former interim UFC champ “The Natural Born Killer” Carlos Condit and vaults up the rankings.

Elsewhere at UFC on FOX 21, former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis made a successful featherweight debut by submitting Charles “do Bronx” Oliveira. In welterweight action, Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin moved up in the rankings by destroying Neil Magny at UFC 202.

Deep Jewels Strawweight Champion Mizuki Inoue was denied a victory in her return to kickboxing competition on Sunday night at “J-Fight & J-Girls 2016 5th” in Tokyo, Japan. Inoue fought to a closely-contested three-round Majority Draw against J-Girls veteran “Crusher” Keiko Matsukawa.

Matsukawa was aggressive with punch-kick combos throughout the fight and she appeared to hold a speed advantage over Inoue, who moved up in weight for the 55kg matchup. Inoue landed hard right hands and finished strong with combinations, but only one judge scored the bout in her favour.

Strawweight star “12 Gauge” Paige VanZant made a triumphant return to the Octagon tonight with a highlight-reel knockout victory at UFC on FOX 21: “Maia vs Condit” in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. VanZant finished “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings with a jumping switch kick early in round two.

VanZant kept her distance and struck with a variety of kicks in the opening round, but Rawlings got the better of the exchanges with power punches and knees. Against her corner’s wishes, VanZant continued to throw flashy kicks in round two including the vicious strike that floored Rawlings for good.
