Deep Jewels Strawweight Champion Seika Izawa managed to overcome a considerable amount of adversity in her 49kg super atomweight debut tonight at Deep: “104 Impact” in Tokyo, Japan. Izawa, who was dropped in the second round, rallied to edge out South Korean striker Si Woo Park.
Shortly before scoring the flash knockdown, Park had sustained a two-point deduction due to an illegal soccer kick, which gave a lead to Izawa in an otherwise razor-thin fight. With her right eye almost completely swollen shut, Izawa kept the fight on the mat in round three to seal a decision win.

In what will likely be one of her final professional fights, Rena Kubota will make her return to action on November 20th at Rizin Fighting Federation 32 in Okinawa, Japan. Kubota is scheduled to face off against a familiar foe, Miyuu Yamamoto, in a rematch from Rizin FF 2 in September 2016.
Rizin FF officials announced the matchup earlier today, though a contracted weight was not specified. Kubota submitted Yamamoto in the pair’s first meeting, but Yamamoto has rallied with wins in five of her past seven fights including a victory over 2017 Rizin FF Grand Prix champ Kanna Asakura.

Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight GP winner Kanna Asakura is set to make her return to action on October 24th at Rizin Fighting Federation 31 in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Asakura faces off against two-division Deep and Deep Jewels champion Saori Oshima in a featured 49kg matchup.
Rizin FF officials announced the bout earlier today. Asakura had her four-fight winning streak snapped in March when she was narrowly defeated by Ayaka Hamasaki in a title rematch at Rizin FF 27. Rising star Oshima became a double champ for Deep by winning two fights at Deep Jewels 33.
