Elsewhere tonight, flyweight prospect Kathina “Kill Switch” Catron made a successful pro debut at Xtreme Fighting League: “Xtreme Fight Night 9” in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Catron submitted Amber “The Crazy Bitch” Powell with a first-round guillotine choke and remains undefeated in her MMA career.

Carla Esparza's Invicta Fighting Championships 3 BlogI guess I’ll rewind this blog back to my first opportunity to fight for Invicta Fighting Championships, which was at their second show on July 28th. The show turned out great, and I had the opportunity to see some amazing ladies in action. Armed in my hot pink singlet, I fought Sarah Schneider.

She definitely gave me a run for my money, but in the end I came out victorious with a second-round TKO. Sarah was very gracious before and after the fight, and she even had all of the Invicta FC fighters sign a pink guitar that she would auction off for charity. Very cool.

Five Bouts Added To Saturday's Jewels: "21st Ring" EventShoot Boxing Girls S-Cup 53.5kg Champion Mizuki Inoue returns to action on Saturday night at Jewels: “21st Ring” in Tokyo, Japan. The 18-year-old Inoue will face off against Yukiko Suzuki in one of four grappling matches announced for the event today. The card is now complete with 15 bouts.

Already regarded as one of the top female prospects in all of Japan, Inoue captured her first combat sports title in August by defeating Ai Takahashi in the Girls S-Cup 53.5 tournament final. Suzuki has been training in jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts for two years and now makes her Jewels debut.

Frank Mir Injured, Out Of Strikeforce Main Event In NovemberFormer UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir has suffered an undisclosed injury and has been forced to withdraw from his Strikeforce main event bout with Daniel Cormier on November 3rd in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Sports Rage was first to report on Mir’s injury on Tuesday evening.

Cormier may remain on the November card against a new opponent, but an official announcement has not yet been made. He remains unbeaten as a mixed martial artist and most recently won the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix by defeating Josh “The Warmaster” Barnett on May 19th.

Norway’s Celine Haga faces Anna Saito in a 53kg MMA bout. In amateur kickboxing action, Yukari Yamaguchi faces fellow teen prospect Miiri Sasaki, while Ayumi Otaki battles Yurika Yanaki.

A planned rematch between Kozue “Azuma” Nagashima and Sung Eun Kim has been scrapped due to Kim suffering an injury in training. Nagashima now faces off against South Korean MMA champion Mi-Jeon Chan. The bout will still be contested using Muay Thai rules that permit elbow strikes.

Miriam Nakamoto Stops Elizabeth Phillips At Red Canvas 2Multi-time Muay Thai champion Miriam Nakamoto made a successful MMA debut tonight at Red Canvas Fight Promotions: “Submission 2” in San Jose, California. Nakamoto earned a dominant second-round TKO victory over SikJitsu’s Elizabeth Phillips after controlling the fight throughout.

Nakamoto, who sports a 15-0 Muay Thai record and captured the WCK Champion of Champions title in mid-August, prevented Phillips from taking her down and scored with some solid strikes in the clinch. A final barrage of knees put Phillips away and Nakamoto walked away with a big win.

Sarah Moras Defeats Christina Barry At Aggression FC 11Sarah “Cheesecake” Moras rebounded from her first professional loss with a quick win tonight at Aggression Fighting Championship 11: “Takeover” in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Moras finished BJJ brown belt Christina Barry with an armbar just 93 seconds into their 140-pound catchweight bout.

Moras bloodied her opponent’s nose with a big knee in the early goings, but Barry was able to take the fight to the mat. Moras swiftly transitioned into an armbar and wrenched back on Barry’s left arm. Barry cried out in pain and the bout was stopped, giving Moras the technical submission victory.
