Xtreme Fighting Championships crowned its first female flyweight champion tonight at XFC 26: “Night of Champions 3” in Nashville, Tennessee. In the co-main event on tonight’s card, Pearl Gonzalez submitted former Tuff-N-Uff champ Cortney “Cast Iron” Casey to win the inaugural 125-pound title.
Gonzalez escaped from a series of submission attempts from Casey, who was very active from her back throughout the fight, and she forced Casey to submit to an armbar late in round three. In a second female fight on the card, “Hurricane” Heather Clark defeated “Shockwave” Hannah Cifers.

Two of the top female prospects on the Deep Jewels roster are set to collide on November 4th at Deep Jewels 2 in Tokyo, Japan. Highly-touted AACC fighter Megumi Sugimoto, an understudy of Megumi “Mega Megu” Fujii, takes on Sachiko Fujimori, who won her pro MMA debut in 49 seconds.
The 53kg matchup between Sugimoto and Fujimori was officially announced this weekend. Also confirmed for the card is a 48kg bout between veteran journeywoman Yukiko Seki, who has won six of her past ten fights, and the returning Madoka Ebihara, who competes for the first time in four years.

Invicta FC Flyweight Champion Barb “Little Warrior” Honchak makes the first defence of her new title on December 7th at Invicta Fighting Championships 7 in Kansas City, Missouri. Honchak is set to face off against fast-rising star Leslie “The Peacemaker” Smith in a five-round championship fight.
