Undefeated strawweight prospect Kailin Curran picked up her third pro win tonight at Pacific Xtreme Combat 42 in Mangilao, Guam. The Hawaiian native made it three-for-three inside the PXC cage by outpointing South Korean newcomer Yoo Jin Jung in a featured matchup on tonight’s card.
Jung was very aggressive early in the fight, but Curran wore her down with effective combinations of body kicks and punches. Jung ate some hard shots from Curran, but she stayed on her feet until the end of the action-packed bout. With the win, Curran set her sights on a future title fight.

UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey retained her title and picked up her first TKO victory tonight at UFC 170: “Rousey vs McMann” in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rousey stopped fellow Olympic medallist Sara McMann early in the first round of tonight’s featured main event.
Also on the UFC 170 card, jiu-jitsu ace Alexis “Ally-Gator” Davis earned her third Octagon victory by outpointing former flyweight standout Jessica “Evil” Eye in a preliminary card bout. Davis dominated round two and she used takedowns to score a hard-fought Split Decision win after 15 minutes.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada tonight for UFC 170: “Rousey vs McMann.” The event featured a UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship bout between undefeated Olympic medallists “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey and Sara McMann.

Japanese superstar Rena Kubota makes her return to action on Sunday night at Shoot Boxing 2014: Act.1 in Tokyo. The popular three-time Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup Champion is set to face off against American mixed martial arts fighter Katie Klimansky-Casimir under shoot boxing rules.
In other female fights on Sunday’s Shoot Boxing card, Kubota’s protégé, two-time Shoot Boxing JKS48 tournament winner Mio Tsumura, faces Akari “Eneos” Nakamura in a rematch from 2012. Former Shoot Boxing Japan Women’s Flyweight Champion Ai Takahashi takes on Miyumi Takahashi.

Invicta Fighting Championships has added 15 new fighters to its roster as the all-female promotion prepares to hold its eighth fight card later this year. The group of newly-signed athletes includes TUF 18 competitors Roxanne “The Happy Warrior” Modafferi and Peggy “The Daywalker” Morgan.
News of the roster additions was announced on Friday’s edition of Inside MMA. The new signings include fighters in all five of Invicta FC’s current weight classes, ranging from 105 to 145 pounds. Invicta FC 8 is targeted for April, though an exact date and location have not yet been announced.

Former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Sarah Kaufman and grappling ace Shayna “The Queen of Spades” Baszler are set to face off for a second time at The Ultimate Fighter: “Nations” Finale on April 16th in Québec City, Québec, Canada. UFC officials announced the rematch today.
Kaufman and Baszler first clashed at Strikeforce Challengers 2 in June 2009, with Kaufman prevailing via a hard-fought Unanimous Decision. She made her long-awaited UFC debut in October. Baszler steps into the UFC Octagon for the first time since her stint on The Ultimate Fighter 18.

Former boxing champ Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm will compete for her first MMA title on April 4th at Legacy Fighting Championship 30 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The hometown star faces Juliana “Julie” Werner for the inaugural Legacy FC Women’s Bantamweight Championship.
Holm made a successful Legacy FC debut in July when she knocked out Allanna “Hands of Stone” Jones with a devastating head kick, and she kept her perfect record intact by picking up two more wins before the end of the year. Werner has won five straight fights and she has not lost since 2006.
