Holly Holm vs Juliana Werner Title Bout Booked For Legacy FC 30Former boxing champ Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm will compete for her first MMA title on April 4th at Legacy Fighting Championship 30 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The hometown star faces Juliana “Julie” Werner for the inaugural Legacy FC Women’s Bantamweight Championship.

Holm made a successful Legacy FC debut in July when she knocked out Allanna “Hands of Stone” Jones with a devastating head kick, and she kept her perfect record intact by picking up two more wins before the end of the year. Werner has won five straight fights and she has not lost since 2006.

Holm (6-0-0) has thus far dominated each of her opponents in MMA since making her debut in the sport in March 2011. She has earned knockout wins in five of her six bouts to date and sports a 2-0 record inside the Legacy FC cage. Following her brutal win over Jones in July, Holm returned to action in October and stopped Nikki “Knuckles” Knudsen with kicks and knees at Legacy FC 24. She most recently posted a Unanimous Decision win over Angela “Hollywood” Hayes at Fresquez Productions: “Havoc” in December, and now takes a significant step up in competition.

Werner (7-3-0) is arguably Holm’s toughest opponent to date, and she also brings a wealth of striking experience into the April title fight. In addition to her MMA career, Werner has competed extensively in kickboxing and she is one of Brazil’s top female strikers in MMA. After opening her pro career with a modest 3-3 record that included three defeats against former Invicta FC title challenger Vanessa Porto, Werner returned to the sport in 2011 and she has since won four straight fights. She most recently defeated Deise Lee Rocha at Arena Force in August.

Legacy Fighting Championship 30 takes place on April 4th at Route 66 Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The title bout between Holm and Werner is expected to serve as the main or co-main event on the card, but an official announcement has not yet been made.

  1. Werner is a flyweight, same with Allana Jones…

Holly should step up and fight opponents who are her size and more experienced.

  2. Holm has no interest in fighting anyone decent. I am surprised her manager hasn’t looked into local funeral homes for her next opponent. And to make up a sham belt for her is sad. Straight out of shady boxing. Even her small New Mexico fanbase is getting tried of this nonsense and is telling her to sign with UFC or go back to boxing.
