Both fighters recently took part in the ill-fated Ultimate Women Challenge reality show competition last year, though results from the fights that took place during filming have yet to be released. The bout between Young and Kedzie will determine the first Jackson’s MMA Series Women’s Champion.

Rosi Sexton Prepares For Main Event Bout At CWFC 40In five days, Cage Warriors champion and top UK talent Rosi “The Surgeon” Sexton will compete in her home country of England for the first time in over five years when she headlines Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 40 in North London. Sexton will face Roxanne “The Happy Warrior” Modafferi.

The 125-pound matchup will mark Modafferi’s debut in the weight class, and it is arguably the biggest women’s bout in the promotion’s history; if not the biggest to take place in European MMA to date. Sexton is eager to compete in front of friends and family, but knows that she will face a tough opponent.

Shana Olsen vs Elaina Maxwell Agreed For Spring Brawl 2A second women’s bout is in the works for Crowbar MMA: “Spring Brawl 2” on April 29th in Fargo, North Dakota. Shana “Rock Solid” Olsen and fellow Strikeforce veteran Elaina “Beef” Maxwell have verbally agreed to square off in a 145-pound matchup on the card. Bout agreements are not yet signed.

Both fighters will look to rebound from recent setbacks, as Olsen suffered the first defeat of her career last October while Maxwell was submitted by Shayna Baszler in November. The bout joins a planned matchup between Barb “Little Warrior” Honchak and Nina Ansaroff on the April card.

Ortiz Out, Davis To Face Nogueira At UFC Fight Night 24An injury in training has forced former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz out of a main event bout with Antonio Rogerio “Minotoro” Nogueira at UFC Fight Night 24 on March 26th. Nogueira will remain on the card and is now slated to face unbeaten prospect Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis.

News of Ortiz’s withdrawal from the card was announced by UFC President Dana White this evening, and MMAjunkie.com subsequently reported that Ortiz suffered a bad cut from an accidental headbutt during training. Davis will now step into the biggest fight of his career when he meets Nogueira.

Jackson vs Hamill, Alves vs Story Announced For UFC 130Two featured matchups have been added to the upcoming UFC 130 card on May 28th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will take on Matt “The Hammer” Hamill, while Thiago “Pitbull” Alves squares off with Ricky “The Horror” Story.

The event will be headlined by a third meeting between Frankie “The Answer” Edgar and Gray “The Bully” Maynard for the UFC Lightweight Championship. The pair’s second bout ended in a Split Draw on January 1st, and Maynard was awarded with an immediate rematch for Edgar’s title as a result.

Jessica Aguilar vs Simona Soukupova Set For February 26Rising female star and Bellator tournament veteran Jessica “Jag” Aguilar has found an opponent for her upcoming fight at G-Force Fights: “Bad Blood 5” on February 26th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aguilar will battle England’s Simona Soukupova, who has yet to taste defeat in her pro career.

Competing in last year’s Bellator 115-pound women’s tournament, Aguilar suffered a controversial decision loss to eventual champion Zoila Frausto in the semi-finals, but bounced back with a quick victory for G-Force Fights in November. Soukupova most recently stopped Celine Haga in England.
