Jessica Aguilar vs Simona Soukupova Set For February 26Rising female star and Bellator tournament veteran Jessica “Jag” Aguilar has found an opponent for her upcoming fight at G-Force Fights: “Bad Blood 5” on February 26th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aguilar will battle England’s Simona Soukupova, who has yet to taste defeat in her pro career.

Competing in last year’s Bellator 115-pound women’s tournament, Aguilar suffered a controversial decision loss to eventual champion Zoila Frausto in the semi-finals, but bounced back with a quick victory for G-Force Fights in November. Soukupova most recently stopped Celine Haga in England.

Aguilar (10-4-0) made her pro debut on February 18, 2006 against a much more experienced Lisa Ward and engaged in a competitive battle before succumbing to a rear-naked choke late in the second round. She has consistently faced tough competition throughout her career and has never been finished since the bout with Ward. Aguilar earned a big win last June when she stopped SNMMA champ Catia Vitoria and later debuted for Bellator Fighting Championships in August. She scored a first-round submission victory over Lynn Alvarez to advance to the Bellator tournament semi-finals before falling to Frausto in contentious fashion. Aguilar will now look to pick up her second straight win in G-Force Fights.

Soukupova (2-0-0) gives up a considerable amount of experience to Aguilar, but she has finished both of her opponents to date. The native of England made her pro debut last March and earned a first-round corner stoppage victory over Lisa Newton, then returned to action on November 20th when she knocked out Jewels veteran Celine Haga. The bout with Aguilar will be Soukupova’s North American debut and a win would immediately establish her as a prospect to watch, but Aguilar’s striking has improved greatly over the past year and Soukupova will not have an easy fight.

G-Force Fights: “Bad Blood 5” takes place on February 26th at the DeltaPlex Arena & Conference Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Update (4:50 P.M. Pacific time): Within hours of this bout being signed by Aguilar and made official, it is now in danger of being cancelled after Soukupova reportedly suffered an injury at some point during the past 24 hours. G-Force Fights is reportedly looking for a replacement opponent for Aguilar. Further updates will follow.
