Aisling Daly To Headline NAAFS: “Eve Of Destruction 2” In NovemberNorth American Allied Fight Series champ Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly will defend her newly-won 125-pound women’s title in the main event of NAAFS: “Eve Of Destruction 2” on November 19th in Medina, Ohio. The promotion announced Daly’s participation on the all-female card earlier today.

Daly won the title on June 4th by submitting the previously unbeaten Jessica “Evil” Eye in the second round at NAAFS: “Fight Night In The Flats 7.” She had been scheduled to face Roxanne Modafferi for BlackEye Promotions on October 1st, but that fight is now off due to Daly’s obligations to NAAFS.

2011 Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup Quarterfinals AnnouncedThe quarterfinal matchups for the 2011 Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup have now been announced. This year’s field includes familiar faces and newcomers, and over half of the participants are also active mixed martial artists. The event will take place on August 19th at Shibuya-Ax in Tokyo, Japan.

Among those participating are Seo Hee Ham, Mei Yamaguchi, Emi Fujino and Tomomi Sunaba. A planned bout between titleholders Erika Kamimura and Ai Takahashi has been scrapped from the card after Takahashi suffered an orbital bone injury. Kamimura will now face Kanako Oka in round one.

Mike Swick Injured, Withdraws From UFC 134: Rio CardFormer top contender Mike “Quick” Swick has been forced to withdraw from his UFC 134 bout with Erick “Indio” Silva after tearing the ACL and MCL in his knee during training. The embattled welterweight has been sidelined for 18 months due to illness and injuries, and has dropped back-to-back fights.

Tatame.com was first to report that Swick has been replaced on the card by UFC newcomer Luis “Beição” Ramos, who has won 10 of his last 12 fights. Silva, a champion in Jungle Fight, will also make his Octagon debut in the fight and has not lost since dropping a decision to Mario Neto in 2006.

Tatsuya Kawajiri To Rematch Joachim Hansen At DREAM.17Former rivals Tatsuya “Crusher” Kawajiri and Joachim “Hellboy” Hansen will square off for a second time at DREAM.17 on September 24th in Saitama, Japan. Kawajiri will make his featherweight debut in the fight after Hansen, a former DREAM Lightweight Champion, dropped down in weight last year.

The pair first faced off for Hansen’s Shooto Welterweight Championship at 154 pounds in February 2006, but the bout ended after just eight seconds due to an accidental low blow from Hansen. Now five and a half years later, Hansen will have a chance to gain a measure of revenge in the rematch.

Zuffa Releases Overeem, Three More Golden Glory FightersJust days after Alistair Overeem was abruptly released from his Strikeforce contract, three of the former champion’s Golden Glory teammates have also been cut. Overeem’s brother, Valentijn, along with UFC fighter John Olav Einemo and ex-Strikeforce champ Marloes Coenen were all released.

News of Alistair Overeem’s release was first noted by Inside MMA on Friday, and Golden Glory rep Martijn de Jong confirmed the remaining cuts today. While contractual issues are believed to have played a role, a “lack of card space” was named as the reason for Coenen and Valentijn’s dismissals.
