Former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Sarah Kaufman will make her Octagon debut against Olympic silver medallist Sara McMann at UFC on FOX Sports 1 #2: “Condit vs Kampmann 2” on August 28th in Indianapolis, Indiana. The bout was officially announced on UFC Tonight.
Kaufman is coming off of a razor-thin Split Decision victory over Leslie “The Peacemaker” Smith at Invicta FC 4. She has won four of her past five fights. McMann remains unbeaten in her MMA career and she made a successful UFC debut by stopping Sheila “The German Tank” Gaff at UFC 159.

Hard-hitting strikers Sheila “The German Tank” Gaff and Amanda “Lioness of the Ring” Nunes will face off at UFC 163: “Aldo vs Pettis” on August 3rd in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. MMA Argentina initially reported on the bout earlier today and UFC officials subsequently confirmed plans for the matchup.
Gaff made her Octagon debut at UFC 159, but her three-fight winning streak was snapped by Olympic silver medallist Sara McMann. Nunes also looks to rebound from a setback in her most recent fight. She dropped a one-sided Unanimous Decision to Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio at Invicta FC 4.

A knee injury has forced Invicta FC Strawweight Champion Carla “Cookie Monster” Esparza out of her July 13th title defence against Jewels champ Ayaka Hamasaki at Invicta Fighting Championships 6 in Kansas City, Missouri. Hamasaki now faces Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha on the card.
Gadelha announced the fight change on Saturday and MMAFighting.com confirmed details of Esparza’s injury today. A timetable for Esparza’s return is not yet known and Gadelha and Hamasaki, who are both undefeated in their mixed martial arts careers, may compete for an interim title belt.

Jessica “Evil” Eye overcame a tough opponent and a rain-soaked cage en route to her seventh straight victory tonight at NAAFS: “Fight Night In The Flats 9” in Cleveland, Ohio. Eye outpointed veteran Brazilian contender Carina “Barbie” Damm in tonight’s 132-pound catchweight main event.
Eye got off to a strong start in the first round and she scored with quick punches, but Damm rallied in round two and dropped the hometown star with a head kick. A failed takedown from Damm in the final round allowed Eye to take top position and that earned her the win on the scorecards.

The North American Allied Fight Series returned to the Nautica Pavilion in Cleveland, Ohio tonight for NAAFS: “Fight Night In The Flats 9.” The card featured a women’s catchweight matchup between hometown star Jessica “Evil” Eye and Brazilian veteran Carina “Beauty But The Beast” Damm.
In tonight’s co-main event, Nick “The Savage” Duell battled Hector “El Toro” Urbina for the NAAFS Welterweight Championship. UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez retained his title in quick and dominant fashion on May 25th at UFC 160: “Velasquez vs Silva 2” in Las Vegas, Nevada. Velasquez earned his second first-round stoppage victory over Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and remains atop the heavyweight rankings.
On the same UFC 160 card, T.J. Grant stopped former title contender Gray “The Bully” Maynard to earn a spot in the lightweight top five. In women’s action, South Korean standout Seo Hee Ham enters the top three at 105 pounds after capturing the Jewels Featherweight Queen Championship.

Unbeaten atomweight prospect Paulina “Firefox” Granados earned her first submission win in quick fashion tonight at Legacy Fighting Championship 20 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The hometown fan favourite needed a mere 46 seconds to defeat fellow Texan Maria Lopez with an impressive armbar.
Granados kicked off her pro career with a well-earned Unanimous Decision win in March following a 4-0 run as an amateur that was capped off by a Cage Combat 110-pound title win. All five of Granados’s previous fights had gone the distance, but she wasted no time in securing her victory tonight.

Former UFC title challenger Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche has a new opponent for her upcoming bantamweight bout at UFC on FOX 8. Carmouche will now face off against Brazilian rising star Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade on the card, which is set to take place on July 27th in Seattle, Washington.
MMAFighting.com first reported on the fight tonight. Carmouche’s two-fight winning streak was halted by UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey at UFC 157 in February. Andrade has won seven of her past eight and she is coming off of a key victory over Milana Dudieva.
