Fresh off of her win over Jessamyn “The Gun” Duke, Bethe “Pitbull” Correia faces another member of the Four Horsewomen stable on August 2nd at UFC 176: “Aldo vs Mendes 2” in Los Angeles, California. Correia battles veteran submission specialist Shayna “The Queen of Spades” Baszler.

UFC officials announced the bantamweight bout on Monday. Correia earned her second Octagon win this past month when she defeated Duke. Baszler took exception to Correia’s actions after the bout and she requested a fight against the Brazilian. She now faces Correia in her official UFC debut.

CFA Women’s Featherweight Champion Ashlee Evans-Smith is set to make her World Series of Fighting debut on June 21st at WSOF 10: “Branch vs Taylor” in Las Vegas, Nevada. Evans-Smith takes on Invicta FC veteran Marciea “Black Widow” Allen in a featured bantamweight bout on the card.

WSOF officials confirmed the matchup on Monday. The female fight joins a previously announced strawweight title bout between Jessica “Jag” Aguilar and Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino. Evans-Smith captured the CFA title when she stopped Fallon Fox in October. Allen has won back-to-back fights.

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones retained his belt with a five-round Unanimous Decision win on April 26th at UFC 172 in Baltimore, Maryland. Jones earned his 11th straight victory by defeating top contender Glover Teixeira and he remains on top of the light heavyweight rankings.

In other 205-pound action at UFC 172, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson made a successful UFC return by dominating Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis. Elsewhere in April, Sarah Kaufman, Miesha “Cupcake” Tate and Bethe “Pitbull” Correia earned key wins in the competitive UFC women’s bantamweight division.

Multi-time Muay Thai world champ Germaine “The Iron Lady” de Randamie steps back into the UFC Octagon on June 14th at UFC 174: “Johnson vs Bagautinov” in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Dutch striking sensation faces Russian standout Milana Dudieva in a bantamweight bout.

UFC officials announced the matchup on Wednesday night. De Randamie had a two-fight winning streak snapped in her most recent bout when she was stopped by Amanda “Lioness” Nunes in November. Dudieva makes her long-awaited UFC debut after picking up a quick victory this past month.

Following a 93-fight amateur career that included numerous title reigns, 15-year-old “Muay Thai Genius” Saya Ito made a successful professional kickboxing debut on Sunday night at Muaylok 2014: 1st in Tokyo, Japan. Ito defeated South Korea’s Hye-Young Park in the five-round co-main event.

Ito proved again on Sunday that she is one of the top female kickboxers in Japan by overwhelming Park with lightning-fast kicks and combinations. Park had success with overhand rights in the early rounds, but Ito’s speed proved to be too great and she cruised to a Unanimous Decision victory.

One of Brazil’s top female fighters, Kalindra Faria, picked up her 11th straight victory tonight at XFC International 4 in Osasco, São Paulo, Brazil. Faria battered and bloodied Serbian prospect Sanja Sučević en route to a lopsided Unanimous Decision win in the XFCi 4 strawweight co-feature.

Faria dominated tonight’s bout with Sučević on the ground and she nearly finished the fight with a pair of tight armbars in round one. Sučević narrowly survived, but Faria slashed up her face with elbows in the middle stanza and she continued her offensive onslaught in round three to seal the victory.

Brazilian rising star Bethe “Pitbull” Correia kept her undefeated record intact with a well-deserved victory tonight at UFC 172: “Jones vs Teixeira” in Baltimore, Maryland. Correia earned a Unanimous Decision win over TUF 18 competitor Jessamyn “The Gun” Duke on tonight’s preliminary card.

Correia showcased her underrated striking skills throughout the three-round bout and she repeatedly scored with leg kicks and quick punches that kept the much taller Duke guessing. Duke had success with throws, but Correia countered with takedowns of her own en route to an impressive victory.
