With Shayna “The Queen of Spades” Baszler sidelined due to a training injury, former Strikeforce champion Sarah Kaufman has received a new opponent for The Ultimate Fighter: “Nations” Finale on April 16th in Québec City, Québec, Canada. Kaufman now faces Amanda “Lioness” Nunes.

Globo and Tatame first reported on the fight change today. Baszler was forced out of the planned rematch with Kaufman this week. Nunes was originally booked to face unbeaten Octagon newcomer Alexis Dufresne at UFC on FOX 11 on April 19th. Dufresne now remains without an opponent.

Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks overcame adversity en route to a hard-fought Unanimous Decision victory on March 15th at UFC 171 in Dallas, Texas. The hard-hitting wrestler narrowly outpointed 13-year veteran “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler to claim the vacant UFC Welterweight Championship.

Also at UFC 171, Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade continued to climb the women’s bantamweight rankings with a razor-thin Split Decision win over TUF 18 semi-finalist Raquel “Rocky” Pennington. In Brazil, standouts Kalindra Faria and Hérica Tibúrcio both earned key strawweight victories.

Brazilian strawweight standouts Kalindra Faria and Hérica Tibúrcio each picked up key wins tonight at MMA Super Heroes 3 in São Paulo, Brazil. Faria submitted Argentinian prospect Laura Balin in the main event, while Tibúrcio outpointed Aline Sattelmayer in a featured main card matchup.

MMA Super Heroes 3 also included a one-night women’s strawweight tournament. Newcomer Renata Baldan outlasted two opponents to win the 115-pound grand prix. At Fatality Arena 6 in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Vanessa Porto and Aline “Hannibal” Sério were victorious on the main card.

WSOF Women’s Strawweight Champion Jessica “Jag” Aguilar is expected to make the first defence of her title against veteran Japanese contender Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino at World Series of Fighting 10. The event is set for June 21st at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

MMARising.com confirmed plans for the championship fight tonight with Fujino’s manager, Shu Hirata. Aguilar became WSOF’s inaugural female champion in January when she submitted the previously unbeaten Alida Gray. Her targeted opponent, Fujino, has won four of her past six fights.

Gina “Conviction” Iniong made it two-for-two inside the PXC cage with her biggest win to date tonight at Pacific Xtreme Combat 43 in Pasig City, Philippines. The Filipina standout earned a close and highly competitive Split Decision win over former Valkyrie champion “V.V” Mei Yamaguchi.

Iniong and Yamaguchi were initially slated to face off in an atomweight bout on the card, but Iniong came in slightly overweight for the fight, which was then changed to a 107-pound catchweight. Iniong’s striking and impressive takedowns propelled her to a narrow decision victory on the scorecards.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship came to Nélio Dias Gymnasium in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil tonight for UFC Fight Night 38: “Shogun vs Henderson 2.” The event was headlined by a light heavyweight rematch between ex-champ Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Dan “Hendo” Henderson.

A second women’s bantamweight bout between Amanda “Lioness” Nunes and Alexis Dufresne has been added to UFC on FOX 11: “Werdum vs Browne” on April 19th in Orlando, Florida. Globo first reported on plans for the matchup between Nunes and UFC newcomer Dufresne on Saturday.

Nunes has posted a pair of quick and impressive first-round TKO victories in both of her UFC appearances to date and she has won three of her past four fights overall. California’s Dufresne remains unbeaten in her five-fight MMA career and she has yet to see the second round as a professional.

Deep Jewels Featherweight Champion Seo Hee Ham competes in her home country for the first time in her MMA career at Road Fighting Championship Korea 3: “Nations Fight: Korea vs Brazil” on April 6th in Seoul, South Korea. Ham is scheduled to face teen prospect Shino VanHoose on the card.

The 105-pound bout between Ham and VanHoose was officially confirmed this week following an announcement from VanHoose. Ham has won three straight fights and captured Jewels title gold in May. VanHoose recently relocated to the U.S. and she competes for the first time since late 2012.
