Canadian striker Mark “The Machine” Hominick will return to action for the first time since the tragic loss of trainer and mentor Shawn Tompkins at UFC 140 on December 10th in Toronto, Ontario. Hominick will face “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in a featured featherweight matchup on the card.
Verbal agreements are in place for the bout, which was officially announced by the UFC today. Hominick recently had a five-fight winning streak snapped when he challenged José Aldo for the UFC Featherweight Championship. Jung submitted rival Leonard “Bad Boy” Garcia with a twister in March.

Former UFC welterweight title challenger Jon Fitch will return to the Octagon at UFC 141 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The American Kickboxing Academy star faces fellow wrestler Johny Hendricks on the December 30th card. Verbal agreements are in place for the fight, which was first reported by ESPN.
Fitch has not fought since late February when he battled former two-division UFC champion B.J. Penn to a Majority Draw. A planned UFC 132 rematch between the two was cancelled after Fitch withdrew due to injury. Hendricks has won back-to-back fights since suffering his lone defeat in December.

The semi-final matchups in the inaugural Jewels Featherweight Queen tournament are now set. A drawing held following tonight’s Jewels: “16th Ring” event in Tokyo, Japan determined the second-round pairings for the tournament, which concludes at Jewels: “17th Ring” on December 17th.
In semi-final one, unbeaten rising star Naho “Sugi Rock” Sugiyama faces 2010 Jewels 48kg Rough Stone Grand Prix Champion Kikuyo Ishikawa. Veterans Misaki Takimoto and Yukiko Seki square off in semi-final two. The tournament will determine the first Jewels Featherweight Queen Champion.
