A battle between Europe’s top female fighters, Rosi “The Surgeon” Sexton and Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly, is now official for Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 47 on June 2nd. The CWFC 125-pound women’s tournament semi-final is set to take place in Daly’s hometown of Dublin, Ireland.
Sexton and Daly were initially slated to face off in early May, but the bout was pushed back until June when Cage Warriors shifted its 2012 event schedule. The fighters will now compete in the biggest women’s bout in European MMA history, with the winner advancing on to face Sheila Gaff.

A spinal injury has forced Shana “Rock Solid” Nelson out of her bout with Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio at Invicta Fighting Championships 1 on April 28th in Kansas City, Kansas. D’Alelio now faces Vanessa Mariscal on the card. MMARising.com confirmed the change with sources tonight.
D’Alelio makes her return to action for the first time since a controversial loss to current Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey in August. Mariscal, who was originally set to face Valérie Létourneau this Saturday in Ontario, has won both of her pro fights.

French-Canadian striker Valérie “Trouble” Létourneau will indeed compete this coming weekend, but on a new card and against a different opponent. Létourneau has agreed to face off with unbeaten Brazilian Claudia Gadelha at Wreck MMA: “Road To Glory” on Friday night in Gatineau, Québec.
Both Létourneau and Gadelha were originally set to compete in separate bouts on Saturday at Freedom Fight: “Caged Combat” in Sudbury, Ontario, but the event was postponed earlier this week. Létourneau and Gadelha are now expected to face off at a catchweight of 130 pounds for Wreck MMA.

Japan’s Shoot Boxing organisation began two new tournaments on Friday night at Shoot Boxing 2012: “Road To S-Cup, Act.2” in Tokyo. 17-year-old prospect Mizuki Inoue advanced to the finals of the “2012 Girls S-Cup 53.5” tournament by stopping Mina in the first of two semi-final matchups.
In the inaugural “JKS48” grand prix for high-school students, Mio Tsumura improved her shoot boxing record to 5-0 by defeating Yuuki Kira. Tsumura, who celebrated her 17th birthday on Saturday, advances alongside Naoko Otsuka to the tournament semi-final round, which takes place in August.

Talented kickboxer Felice “Lil’ Bulldog” Herrig put her improving wrestling skills to good use tonight in a featured women’s bout at Xtreme Fighting Championships 17: “Apocalypse” in Jackson, Tennessee. Herrig earned a clear-cut Unanimous Decision victory over “Little” Patricia Vidonic.
With takedowns in all three rounds, Herrig was able to keep her opponent pinned down on the mat for prolonged stretches and she was effective with short strikes from the top. Vidonic pulled off an impressive sweep in round one, but Herrig controlled the remainder of the bout to take the decision.

Top Jewels star Mika “Future Princess” Nagano will look to get back on the winning track when she returns to action on May 26th. Nagano is set to face off with journeywoman Anna Saito at Jewels: “19th Ring” in Osaka, Japan. The 53kg bout was officially announced by the promotion earlier today.
Also added to the card today was a 48kg featherweight matchup between Sachiko “Sachi” Yamamoto and Sadae “Manhoef” Suzumura. Yamamoto is coming off of a big win over former Valkyrie champ Yasuko “Ikuko” Tamada at “17th Ring.” Suzumura earned a first-round stoppage win in September.
