An on-again, off-again ProFC bout between Kaitlin Young and Milana Dudieva has been rebooked for December 10th in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Young has verbally agreed to the revised date, but has not yet signed on. The fight was originally scheduled for ProFC 37 on November 9th.
Young withdrew from the ProFC 37 card on Sunday after she was unable to secure a visa to travel and compete, and cited promotional disorganisation as a main factor. ProFC and Young’s management reached an agreement and the Minnesotan is expected to face Russia’s Dudieva next month.
Young (6-5-0) will compete outside of the United States for the first time in her pro MMA career when she faces Dudieva (7-1-0), who has not tasted defeat since her professional debut close to three years ago. Young is coming off of a first-round stoppage of Liz Carreiro at Freestyle Cage Fighting 49 last month, while Dudieva won her lone bout of 2011 in August by submitting Risalat Mingbatyrova in 41 seconds. All seven of Dudieva’s wins have come in ProFC.
Despite the issues surrounding Young’s travel and visa situation for the planned November 9th bout, which Young discussed in a statement on Sunday, she remains optimistic that the fight with Dudieva will proceed as planned on the new date. Dudieva will remain on the ProFC 37 card and now faces 22-year-old Luiza Rashidova, who will make her pro debut in the short-notice contest.
Young and Dudieva now square off at ProFC: Grand Prix Global Semifinal on December 10th at the CSC Express Arena in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. The bout will be contested at 136 pounds.
