Middleweight fan favourites “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and “Crazy” Tim Credeur have verbally agreed to square off at UFC 113 in Montreal. The planned May 8th bout was first reported on The Underground MMA forum today and has since been confirmed by multiple sources.

The highly charismatic Lawlor is coming off of a controversial Split Decision loss to the unbeaten Aaron “A-Train” Simpson at UFC Fight Night 20. Credeur last competed at UFC Fight Night 19 and was defeated by Nate “Rock” Quarry in an incredible back-and-forth battle.

Lawlor (6-2-0, 1 NC), equally famous for his hilarious pre-fight entrances as for his performances inside the cage, was a contestant on season eight of The Ultimate Fighter but lost to eventual champion Ryan “Darth” Bader in the preliminary rounds. He rebounded with a decision victory over Kyle Kingsbury and choked out CB “The Doberman” Dollaway on the undercard of UFC 100. Lawlor was in complete control of the January bout with Simpson through much of the first two rounds, but fatigued in round three and came out on the wrong end of a contested judges’ decision.

Credeur (12-3-0) competed for a variety of promotions before entering season seven of The Ultimate Fighter, but he was defeated in the show’s semi-final. He made his official Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 14 and went on to pick up stoppage victories over Cale Yarbrough, Nate Loughran and Nick Catone. The September war with Quarry was the first time that Credeur had ever gone to a decision, but there were numerous times during the fight where both fighters were badly rocked and on the verge of being knocked out. Credeur will look to get back on track when he battles Lawlor.

UFC 113 takes place on May 8th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Québec, Canada. The event is headlined by a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship rematch between Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
