At age 16, Mizuki Inoue made her professional MMA debut in October 2010 for the Jewels promotion in Japan. Two months later, the karateka became one of the youngest tournament champions in mixed martial arts history by winning the 56-kilogram division of the Jewels Rough Stone Grand Prix.

Now 18, Inoue is Japan’s top female prospect. She is set to make her North American debut against Bec Hyatt at Invicta Fighting Championships 6 on July 13th in Kansas City, Missouri, and the talented young fighter is eager to put on a strong performance for the many fans watching around the world.

Inoue sports identical 5-1 records in MMA, kickboxing and shoot boxing. This past August, she became the first Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup 53.5kg Champion by defeating Ai Takahashi for the second time. Inoue has since earned a pair of submission wins for Jewels, but the promotion has struggled to find her quality opponents. Feeling that the best challenges were abroad, Inoue signed with Invicta FC this year.

On July 13th, Inoue is set to face one of her toughest opponents to date. Hyatt has already fought twice for Invicta and she most recently scored a dominant first-round win over Jasminka Cive in April. Inoue holds a submission victory over one top-ranked Australian, Alex Chambers, and she hopes to make it two-for-two against Aussie opposition next month. She recently spoke with MMARising.com about her career to date and her upcoming Invicta Fighting Championships debut.
