Seika Izawa proved once again that she is one of the best female MMA fighters in the world by capturing her third championship title tonight at Deep Jewels 44 in Tokyo, Japan. Izawa submitted Si Yoon “Sankaru” Park with a second-round ninja choke to claim the Deep Jewels atomweight title.
Izawa, who also holds the Deep Jewels Strawweight Championship and Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Championship, threatened with multiple submissions before finishing Park early in round two. Deep Jewels 44 featured several finishes including a brutal KO by Eun Bi “Libby” Cho.

A total of four women’s bouts including two championship fights are now official for Pancrase 341, which takes place on March 31st in Tokyo, Japan. Flyweight Queen of Pancrase Takayo Hashi puts her title on the line against undefeated 20-year-old challenger Honoka Shigeta, who is 3-0 in Pancrase.
Also set for Pancrase 341 is the inaugural Atomweight Queen of Pancrase tournament final between Satomi “Sarami” Takano and Sayako Fujita. In non-title flyweight bouts, Emiko “Fujin” Raika rematches Shizuka Sugiyama in Sugiyama’s Pancrase debut, and Nori takes on Fumika Watanabe.

Seika Izawa remained undefeated and scored a second-round submission victory tonight at Rizin Fighting Federation 45 in Saitama, Japan. The reigning Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Champion finished the retiring Miyuu Yamamoto with a rear-naked choke in non-title 49kg action.
Izawa, who also holds the Deep Jewels Strawweight Championship, has her eyes set on potentially adding a third divisional title to her résumé. Following her win tonight, Izawa expressed an interest in competing for the Deep Jewels Atomweight Championship, which is currently held by Si Yoon Park.

A non-title women’s super atomweight bout between Rizin champion Seika Izawa and Miyuu Yamamoto has been added to Rizin Fighting Federation 45, which takes place on December 31st in Saitama, Japan. The fight, originally planned to take place in May, was officially announced today.
Yamamoto was forced to withdraw from the initial matchup with Izawa after suffering a knee injury that kept her out of action for all of 2023. Izawa went on to earn first-round submission victories in bouts for Deep Jewels and Rizin, and she will now face Yamamoto in Yamamoto’s retirement fight.

Former professional baseball player Arisa Matsuda kept her perfect MMA record intact with a narrow Split Decision victory today at Deep Jewels 43 in Tokyo, Japan. Matsuda edged out former amateur rival Machi Fukuda in the main event to win the Deep Jewels Interim Strawweight Championship.
Elsewhere on the card today, former atomweight title challenger Moeri Suda needed just 49 seconds to dispatch of Saki Kitamura with an armbar in the 49kg co-main event. At flyweight, Aoi Kuriyama earned her fourth win in her past five fights by stopping Momoko Saito midway through the first round.
