Weekend Recap: Satomi Takano Defeats Jeong Eun Park At RFC 25Atomweight contender Satomi “Sarami” Takano rebounded from a setback in a Deep Jewels title fight in May with a hard-fought win on Saturday night at Road Fighting Championship 25 in Wonju, Gangwon, South Korea. Takano edged out 18-year-old Jeon Eun Kim in a back-and-forth bout.

Takano’s three-fight winning streak was snapped by new atomweight champ “V.V” Mei Yamaguchi at Deep Jewels 8, but she got herself back on track on Saturday night with her second victory inside the Road FC cage. Takano’s strong final round was enough to earn her a narrow decision win.

Rena Kubota, Mio Tsumura Win Titles At 2015 SB Girls S-CupOne of Shoot Boxing’s biggest stars, four-time Girls S-Cup winner Rena Kubota, captured another title belt tonight at the 2015 Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup event in Ōta, Tokyo, Japan. Kubota defeated late replacement Kane Chopirom for the vacant Shoot Boxing Women’s Flyweight Championship.

Also on the card, Kubota’s protégé, two-time JKS48 tournament winner Mio Tsumura, earned three victories in one night to claim the 2015 48kg Shoot Boxing Japan Girls S-Cup Championship. Tsumura narrowly edged J-Girls Mini Flyweight Champion Momi Furuta in a closely-contested trilogy fight.

Yukari Yamaguchi, Kanna Asakura Victorious At VTJ In OsakaTop Japanese prospect Yukari Yamaguchi scored a quick and impressive submission victory in her long-awaited pro MMA debut tonight at Vale Tudo Japan: “VTJ In Osaka” in Osaka, Japan. Yamaguchi, who turned 17 on Friday, finished Mikiko Hiyama with a first-round rear-naked choke.

Yamaguchi wasn’t the only teen prospect to earn a submission victory on tonight’s preliminary card. 17-year-old atomweight Kanna Asakura, who won her pro MMA debut at VTJ 6th in October, kept her perfect record intact by submitting Miyuki Furusawa with a rear-naked choke in the first round.
