Two-division Deep and Deep Jewels champion Saori Oshima wowed fans with her breakout performance tonight in the co-main event of Rizin Fighting Federation 31 in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Oshima earned her fourth straight win by upsetting Kanna Asakura via a hard-fought Split Decision.
The opening round was dominated by Oshima, who quickly took Asakura down and kept her on the defensive with punches and non-stop submission attempts. Asakura rallied in the second half of the fight, but she could not keep up with the work rate of Oshima, who took the well-deserved win.

Deep Jewels Strawweight Champion Seika Izawa managed to overcome a considerable amount of adversity in her 49kg super atomweight debut tonight at Deep: “104 Impact” in Tokyo, Japan. Izawa, who was dropped in the second round, rallied to edge out South Korean striker Si Woo Park.
Shortly before scoring the flash knockdown, Park had sustained a two-point deduction due to an illegal soccer kick, which gave a lead to Izawa in an otherwise razor-thin fight. With her right eye almost completely swollen shut, Izawa kept the fight on the mat in round three to seal a decision win.

In a rematch almost nine years in the making, Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Champion Ayaka Hamasaki scored her second victory over friend Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino tonight at Rizin Fighting Federation 30 in Saitama, Japan. Hamasaki outpointed Fujino in a non-title 49kg bout.
Just as she did in the pair’s first matchup in December 2012, Fujino rallied late in tonight’s rematch, but it was not quite enough to seal a victory for the Pancrase champ. Earlier on the card, kickboxing sensation Rina “Panchan” Okamoto stayed unbeaten by defeating veteran Momoka Mandokoro.

Atomweight prospect Mizuki “Nisse” Oshiro got back in the win column with a big victory tonight at Deep Jewels 34 in Tokyo, Japan. Oshiro, who had suffered three consecutive defeats against some of the division’s top talent, rebounded by stopping veteran Mizuki Furuse in tonight’s main event.
Deep Jewels 34 was also highlighted by strong performances from two of the promotion’s brightest young stars. At flyweight, Mikiko “Mikko Nirvana” Shimizu defeated Kate “Lotus” Oyama, while 18-year-old Eru Takebayashi stayed unbeaten by dominating Tomoko Inoue in strawweight action.

In the co-main event, Seika Izawa kept her unblemished record intact and captured her first major MMA title by defeating Miki Motono for a second time. Izawa, who outpointed Motono in a December non-title bout, quickly submitted her tonight to become Deep Jewels Strawweight Champion.

Following a disappointing setback in December, Saori Oshima rebounded in a big way tonight at Deep Jewels 32 in Tokyo, Japan. Oshima quickly submitted Emi Tomimatsu in the night’s main event, and she now joins three others in the semi-finals of the Deep Jewels atomweight grand prix.
In tonight’s co-main event, Si Woo Park, who upset Oshima at Deep Jewels 31, cruised to a Unanimous Decision victory over Mizuki “Nisse” Oshiro. Hikaru Aono posted an equally decisive win over Emi Sato tonight, and she joins Park and Oshima in the next round of the atomweight title tournament.
