Chris “Gritz” Gruetzemacher vs Rafa “Gifted” Garcia

Round 1:
Garcia landed a right hand early in the fight and followed with a lead left hook. He wobbled Gruetzemacher with another lead left hand and closed in with more punches, but Gruetzemacher recovered and he landed punches of his own in close. After the fighters separated, Garcia landed three more lead left hooks and then took Gruetzemacher down. Gruetzemacher returned to his feet and both men landed knees to the groin at the same time. Time was called to give both fighters a chance to recover. The fight resumed with an exchange of right hands and knees to the body in a clinch. Garcia looked for a takedown, but Gruetzemacher stuffed it. He attacked the body with a right hand and two knees, then a third knee shortly before the bell. Close round. 10-9 Garcia.

Round 2:
Gruetzemacher was the aggressor in the second round and he backed Garcia up with punches and a standing elbow. He followed with knees to the body and jabs as Garcia slowed down, but Garcia managed to score a takedown into side control. As Gruetzemacher scrambled up, Garcia trapped him in a guillotine choke. Gruetzemacher escaped and he resumed attacking with hooks to the body and standing elbows to the sides of Garcia’s head. Garcia clinched once more, but he was unable to do anything with it and Gruetzemacher continued to score with jabs and hooks to the liver after the fighters separated. Garcia briefly took Gruetzemacher’s back, but Gruetzemacher broke away and peppered Garcia with punches in the final ten seconds. 10-9 Gruetzemacher.

Round 3:
Gruetzemacher pressured Garcia with more jabs and hooks to the body in the final round. A cut was opened below Garcia’s right eye, but he managed to take Gruetzemacher down into side control. Gruetzemacher held on from the bottom and prevented Garcia from doing anything. Gruetzemacher eventually battled back to his feet and he landed a hard uppercut. Garcia finally answered back with a solid combination, but Gruetzemacher tagged him with jabs and one-twos until Garcia took him down again. Gruetzemacher stood with 15 seconds remaining and he landed two knees to the body. 10-9 Gruetzemacher despite Garcia’s takedowns.

Winner: Chris Gruetzemacher by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 15-4-0.

 

Kai “The Fighting Hawaiian” Kamaka III vs Danny “The Colombian Warrior” Chavez

Round 1:
Cautious strikes were exchanged until Chavez shot in for a takedown with just over three minutes remaining. Kamaka quickly returned to his feet and he landed a left-right combo. Chavez faked a takedown and Kamaka landed a leg kick. He blocked a spinning hook kick and chopped away at Chavez’s leg with another strong kick. After one more kick from Kamaka, Chavez landed a one-two in return. Kamaka blocked a head kick, but Chavez landed his best leg kick of the round in the final seconds. 10-9 Kamaka.

Round 2:
Chavez landed a nice right hand to begin the second round and an exchange of leg kicks followed. Kamaka chopped away with calf kicks and the bottom of Chavez’s left leg turned bright red. Kamaka jabbed and threw a leg kick, but he poked Chavez in the right eye in the process. Chavez dropped to the mat in great pain and time was called. After a lengthy break, the fight continued and Kamaka was given a strong warning for the four. Seconds after the restart, Kamaka kneed Chavez in the groin and time was called again. Kamaka was docked one point and the fight continued after two more minutes. Power punches were exchanged right away and Kamaka landed two leg kicks. In the final minute, he landed another leg kick and a step-in knee to Chavez’s face. 9-9.

Round 3:
Kamaka initiated a clinch early in the final round and he held Chavez against the fence while throwing short knees and foot stomps. Chavez tried to counter a Kamaka takedown attempt with a kimura, but Kamaka fought it off and the fighters battled in a clinch again. Kamaka landed two short knees and Chavez broke free with a left hand. Another clinch ensued and this time Chavez held Kamaka against the fence. Kamaka stuffed a takedown and big punches were exchanged to end the fight. 10-9 Kamaka.

Result: Majority Draw (29-27 [Kamaka], 28-28, 28-28) after three rounds. Kamaka moves to 8-4-1, while Chavez is now 11-4-1.

 

Jinh Yu Frey vs Ashley “The Spider Monkey” Yoder

Round 1:
Yoder punched her way into a clinch right away and landed short punches, but Frey broke free with three hard left hands to Yoder’s face. Frey landed a leg kick and Yoder answered with one of her own. Frey tripped Yoder after catching a leg kick and landed a nice left hand as Yoder got back to her feet. Punches were exchanged and Yoder backed Frey up against the cage in a clinch, but Frey once again punched her way free. Yoder landed a leg kick and a one-two, and she began to find success with front kicks to Frey’s body. Frey caught a leg kick and landed a left hand, and the round ended with both women throwing punches. Close round. 10-9 Frey despite Yoder’s late-round rally.

Round 2:
Frey hurt Yoder with two left hands early in the second round and she followed up with another left and a kick that buckled Yoder’s right leg. Frey continued to score with left hands and one more leg kick. She remained effective with punch-kick combos as the round progressed, but Yoder cracked her with a big left hand with just over one minute remaining. Yoder stepped forward with one-two after one-two for the next 15 seconds and Frey’s right cheek began to swell up. She regained her footing and neither fighter landed anything significant in the final 30 seconds. Another close round due to Yoder’s strong finish. Still 10-9 Frey.

Round 3:
Frey opened the final round with a leg kick and she easily stuffed a Yoder takedown attempt. Soon after, Frey shrugged off another takedown and she landed two left hands. Yoder scored with a leg kick and followed with a pair of overhand lefts. She was unable to take Frey down and Frey landed a short right hook on the break. Yoder returned to the success that she had late in round two with another quick one-two and a leg kick. Frey responded with two left crosses and the second one backed Yoder up momentarily. Yoder landed a knee and a front kick, and she overcame a strong leg kick from Frey in order to land one more left hand before the bell. 10-9 Yoder, just barely.

Winner: Jinh Yu Frey by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. She improves to 11-6-0.

 

Zarrukh “The Lion” Adashev vs Ryan “Baby Face” Benoit

Round 1:
Adashev opened the action with an overhand right and he followed up with a powerful leg kick. Benoit countered with a lead left hook, but Adashev knocked him off-balance with a looping right. He hurt Benoit with another leg kick and Benoit switched stances immediately. Adashev continued to attack with kicks and both men landed hooks during a brief punching exchange. Adashev landed one more leg kick and Benoit badly limped backwards. Adashev continued to score with kicks, but Benoit dropped him with a counter right hook. He landed more punches on the ground, but Adashev quickly recovered and he locked on a tight guillotine choke until the bell. 10-9 Adashev despite the late knockdown.

Round 2:
Benoit pressed the action in the second round and he landed lead right hands from a southpaw stance. Adashev answered with two leg kicks and a knee to Benoit’s face. Adashev stuck to counterstriking with punches and he landed a hard leg kick. Two lead right hands and a body kick also scored for Adashev and Benoit fell to the mat soon after when his leg gave out as he tried to close in with a one-two. He got back to his feet and punches were briefly exchanged late in the round. 10-9 Adashev.

Round 3:
Adashev countered Benoit’s forward pressure with jabs and lead right hooks in the final round. Benoit landed a right hand and lunged forward with another one, but his left leg continued to hamper his movement. Hard left hooks were exchanged and Adashev landed two more jabs before circling to his left. Benoit connected with a lead left hook and a right hand soon after as Adashev continued to circle away. He jabbed and circled, and both men landed right hands just before time expired. Close final round. 10-9 Adashev by a slim margin.

Winner: Zarrukh Adashev by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 4-3-0.

 

Philip “The Fresh Prince” Rowe vs Orion “Galaxy” Cosce

Round 1:
Cosce took Rowe down into side control during the opening minute and Rowe battled back to full guard near the cage. He worked back to his feet and Cosce landed a hook to the body on the way up. The fighters battled in a clinch and Cosce landed an elbow. Rowe tried to pull guard and Cosce countered with punches in close and a spinning back elbow. The round ended with an exchange of punches. 10-9 Cosce.

Round 2:
Rowe stepped forward with a jumping knee that missed and he initiated a clinch, but Cosce reversed against the cage. Rowe punched his way free and followed with a body kick, but time was called when a subsequent kick struck Cosce in the groin. Action resumed and Rowe hurt Cosce with a right hand. He swarmed on him with more punches until Cosce fired back with two wild rights. Rowe stunned Cosce again with a combination, but Cosce again recovered and he backed Rowe up to the cage after landing a right hook. Rowe pushed him away and scored with a hard flurry of punches. He followed with five knees and a one-two that backed Cosce up, then landed a final right hand that floored Cosce and ended the fight.

Winner: Philip Rowe by TKO (Knees & Punches) at 4:21 of round two. He improves to 8-3-0.
