The Ultimate Fighting Championship came to 3Arena in Dublin, Leinster, Ireland tonight for UFC Fight Night 76: Holohan vs Smolka.” The injury-riddled card was headlined by a flyweight bout between hometown star Patrick “The Hooligan” Holohan and Louis “Da Last Samurai” Smolka.

In tonight’s lightweight co-main event, “Stormin'” Norman Parke took on the returning Reza “Mad Dog” Madadi. Darren Till faced Nicolas “Sharpshooter” Dalby at 170 pounds and Neil “2Tap” Seery squared off against Jon “The Heat” delos Reyes. MMARising.com has play-by-play for the main card.

Louis “Da Last Samurai” Smolka vs Patrick “The Hooligan” Holohan

Round 1:
Holohan shot in for a takedown and took Smolka down right away. He wound up on top in side control and Smolka locked on a modified Brabo choke from the bottom. Holohan escaped and tried for a guillotine choke on the feet. A scramble ensued and Holohan wound up in a Twister position. Smolka stood and another scramble followed. He countered a heel hook attempt and wound up on top. Holohan scrambled into side control and tried to take Smolka’s back. Smolka rose to his feet and landed a head kick. He followed with punches, but Holohan took him down. The round ended with an exchange of punches. 10-9 Smolka.

Round 2:
Smolka pressed the action with head kicks and looping hooks in the second round. Holohan took his back in a scramble and looked to set up a rear-naked choke. Smolka defended well and he eventually turned into Holohan’s guard. Hard elbows scored for Smolka and he latched onto a tight standing guillotine choke. He used it to push Holohan down to the mat and punished him with elbow strikes. Smolka flurried with punches and passed to mount. Holohan gave up his back and Smolka locked on a rear-naked choke that forced Holohan to tap out.

Winner: Louis Smolka by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 4:09 of round two. He improves to 10-1-0.

“Stormin'” Norman Parke vs Reza “Mad Dog” Madadi

Round 1:
The fighters clinched and traded punches in close early on. Parke threw kicks to Madadi’s midsection and upper body, and he fought off a takedown attempt against the cage. Madadi tried for a takedown, but Parke reversed it and the fighters stood. Parke flurried with punches in the final minute and Madadi landed single right hands in return. 10-9 Parke.

Round 2:
Parke scored with a head kick in the second round and he flashed out another one soon after. Madadi scored a takedown, but he was not able to keep Parke down for long. Parke flurried on the feet and he continued to mix things up with punches and body kicks. More punches scored for Parke, but Madadi answered back with a lunging one-two. The round ended with Parke punching his way into a clinch. 10-9 Parke.

Round 3:
Parke continued to punish Madadi with kicks in the final round, but Madadi fired back with a combination that led to a clinch against the cage. Parke circled away and Madadi landed jabs and uppercuts. The fighters traded hooks and uppercuts in close until Parke clinched. Madadi punched free, but Parke closed in again and took him down. Madadi stood and avoided Parke’s attempts to take him down. 10-9 Parke.

Winner: Norman Parke by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 21-4-1.

Darren Till vs Nicolas “Sharpshooter” Dalby

Round 1:
Till closed the distance and landed knees to the body in the opening seconds. Dalby answered back with hooks over the top and he followed with body kicks. A hard left hand backed Dalby up and both men landed knees in close. Dalby landed kicks to the body and head of Till, who shook them off. He responded with a head kick of his own and followed with a left cross. Till dropped Dalby with a counter uppercut shortly before the bell. 10-9 Till.

Round 2:
Both fighters just missed with head kicks early in the second round and Till landed one-two combinations. He mixed in uppercuts and knees, which were answered by right hooks from Dalby. Till took Dalby’s back and tried to drag him to the mat. Dalby broke free and Till connected with two quick punches. Dalby briefly took him down and landed a knee on the way up. He scored with more knees in the clinch, but Till cracked him with three left hands late in the round. 10-9 Till.

Round 3:
Dalby opened round three with a grazing head kick and he pressed forward aggressively with punches. More punches scored for Dalby, who shot in for a takedown. He got Till down and landed a knee on the way up, then rocked Till with a head kick. Till retreated and Dalby kept the pressure on with punches and body kicks. He took Till down and moved straight to mount. Numerous punches landed for Dalby until Till scrambled up to his feet. Dalby landed knees and briefly tripped Till again. The fight ended with Dalby landing knees in a clinch. 10-8 Dalby.

Result: Majority Draw (29-28 [Till], 28-28, 28-28) after three rounds. Till moves to 13-0-1, while Dalby is now 14-0-1.

Neil “2Tap” Seery vs Jon “The Heat” delos Reyes

Round 1:
Seery scored with a looping right hook and a combination early on, and delos Reyes clinched against the cage. Seery circled away and he landed a flurry and a body kick. Delos Reyes fired back with knees and he tripped Seery to the mat. Seery used an armbar attempt to set up a scramble that allowed him to get back to his feet. He landed a hard combination, but delos Reyes was unfazed. Seery countered a takedown with a guillotine choke. The fighters stood and delos Reyes reversed a takedown, but Seery immediately escaped to his feet again. He landed punches over the top before the bell. 10-9 Seery.

Round 2:
Seery jumped into a guillotine choke early in the second round and had delos Reyes in some trouble, but delos Reyes escaped and he took Seery’s back. Seery eventually slid out the back and took top position before the fighters returned to their feet. Seery took delos Reyes down, but delos Reyes quickly stood and he landed a nice combination followed by a pair of knees. Seery countered another takedown with a tight guillotine choke and this time delos Reyes was forced to submit.

Winner: Neil Seery by Submission (Guillotine Choke) at 4:12 of round two. He improves to 16-11-0.

Undercard Fights:

– Stevie “Braveheart” Ray defeated Mickael “Ragnar” Lebout by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 19-5-0 with the win.

– Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly defeated Ericka Almeida by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-27, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 16-6-0 with the win.

– Krzysztof Jotko defeated Scott Askham by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 16-1-0 with the win.

– Tom Breese defeated Cathal “The Punisher” Pendred by TKO (Kick To The Body & Punches) at 4:37 of round one. He improves to 9-0-0 with the win.
