Paul “The Irish Dragon” Felder vs Danny “Last Call” Castillo

Round 1:
Castillo was kicked in the groin early in round one and time was called to give him time to recover. Action resumed and Felder landed some nice leg kicks. He knocked Castillo off-balance with a counter right hook and followed with another chopping leg kick. Felder threw a spinning back kick to the body and attacked with two knees soon after. Another knee scored for Felder as Castillo ducked forward. Felder just missed with a spinning hook kick and he landed more knees in the final 30 seconds. 10-9 Felder.

Round 2:
Felder landed more counter knees and right hands in the second round and he easily avoided a Castillo takedown attempt. Castillo threw a combination, but Felder ducked under and countered with a flurry of his own. A massive spinning backfist landed for Felder and an unconscious Castillo collapsed to the mat.

Winner: Paul Felder by KO (Spinning Backfist) at 2:09 of round two. He improves to 10-0-0.

 

Cody “No Love” Garbrandt vs Marcus “The Bama Beast” Brimage

Round 1:
Time was called early in round one after Garbrandt was kicked in the groin. Action resumed and Garbrandt landed punching flurries and body kicks. Brimage replied with a flurry of his own and he followed with a head kick attempt. Garbrandt tripped him and landed short punches from the top until Brimage scrambled back to his feet. Garbrandt attempted a flying knee and Brimage countered with a right hook. Time was called after Garbrandt was kicked in the groin again. The fight continued and Garbrandt wobbled Brimage with punches. 10-9 Garbrandt.

Round 2:
Huge punches were exchanged in the second round and Garbrandt connected with one-two combinations. He backed Brimage up with more punches and followed with a head kick. Brimage countered a second head kick with a quick flurry. The fighters traded punches and Brimage scored with a combination that was punctuated by a right hook. More power punches were exchanged and Garbrandt slipped while throwing a head kick. He stood and landed a left hook before the bell. 10-9 Garbrandt.

Round 3:
The fighters circled and traded single punches and leg kicks in the final round. Brimage kicked out Garbrandt’s leg and settled into his guard on the ground. Garbrandt attempted a triangle choke and the fight returned to the feet. More kicks were exchanged and Garbrandt faked a shot. He landed a hard left hook and blocked a head kick. Brimage pressed forward with punches and Garbrandt dropped him face-first with counter hooks. Brimage stood, but he was badly wobbled. Garbrandt dropped him again and the fight was stopped with mere seconds remaining.

Winner: Cody Garbrandt by TKO (Punches) at 4:50 of round three. He improves to 6-0-0.

 

Shawn “The Savage” Jordan vs Jared “Tha Killa Gorilla” Cannonier

Round 1:
The fighters pawed out with short lead hooks in the opening 30 seconds and Jordan lunged in with an uppercut-hook combo. Big punches were exchanged and Cannonier landed a right hook. He kicked from a distance and Jordan answered with a combination. Cannonier connected with a flurry in close, but Jordan dropped him with a counter right hook to the temple. Cannonier collapsed and Jordan unloaded with punches until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Shawn Jordan by TKO (Punches) at 2:57 of round one. He improves to 17-6-0.

 

Evan Dunham vs Rodrigo Damm

Round 1:
Dunham landed some nice jabs and combinations in the opening two minutes and he mixed in kicks to the upper body. Damm circled away with his hands down and Dunham repeatedly tagged him with punches. He attempted a head kick and scored with a pair of hard right hands. More punches forced Damm to backpedal and Dunham clipped him with a lunging right hook. He continued to land lead right hands until the end of the round. 10-9 Dunham.

Round 2:
Dunham punched his way into a clinch against the cage in the second round. The fighters separated and Dunham put together combinations of punches and kicks. He kept Damm on the defensive with punching flurries and body kicks. Damm offered very little offence in return and Dunham landed more punch-kick combos. He scored with step-in uppercuts and just missed with a head kick. 10-9 Dunham.

Round 3:
Damm landed a head kick early in round three, but Dunham was unfazed and he immediately answered back with a lengthy flurry of punches. Both men landed body kicks and Dunham put together a four-punch combination. Dunham continued to pick Damm apart with punches and he mixed in more kicks to the body. Damm pressed forward with a combination, but Dunham blocked the punches and replied with a flurry. Damm began to taunt him and he walked forward with power punches. Dunham bloodied him with counterstrikes and finished the round with punches and knees. 10-9 Dunham.

Winner: Evan Dunham by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 15-6-0.

 

Omari “Lakec” Akhmedov vs Mats Nilsson

Round 1:
Nilsson knocked Akhmedov off-balance with an early leg kick, but Akhmedov recovered and took him down. He landed some big punches from the top and Nilsson held on. The fighters stood and Akhmedov threw more power punches. He countered Nilsson’s strikes with short uppercuts in close. Nilsson picked him up and slammed him down, but Akhmedov scrambled back to his feet and scored a takedown of his own. Nilsson stood and he countered Akhmedov’s looping punches with a takedown and a hard right hands from the top. 10-9 Akhmedov.

Round 2:
Nilsson opened round two with a leg kick and a one-two, but Akhmedov returned fire with a series of looping punches. He began to slow down, but still managed to take Nilsson down to the mat. Nilsson attempted a triangle choke from his back and battled back to his feet. Akhmedov shot in and muscled him down to the ground again. Nilsson stood and landed punches and knees, but Akhmedov took him down once more. He struck from the top until the bell. Close round. 10-9 Akhmedov.

Round 3:
Akhmedov slowed way down in round three and Nilsson looked to take advantage with a takedown. Akhmedov stayed on his feet and threw a winging one-two. Nilsson stuffed a takedown and scored two takedowns of his own against the cage. He landed short punches from the top until Akhmedov scrambled back to his feet. Nilsson countered a takedown with a kimura, then stood and threw Akhmedov to the ground. He locked on a guillotine choke and switched to a Brabo choke, but time expired and Akhmedov was saved by the bell. 10-9 Nilsson.

Winner: Omari Akhmedov by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 14-2-0.

 

Marion “The Belizean Bruiser” Reneau vs Alexis “Sneaky Zebra” Dufresne

Round 1:
The fight began with an exchange of leg kicks and Reneau scored with quick right hooks. She targeted the body and followed with an overhand right. More right hooks scored for Reneau and she stuffed a takedown. Reneau circled away and landed a combination. She mixed in kicks to the legs and body as Dufresne bled heavily from the nose.

Reneau rocked Dufresne with punches and followed with a series of knees to the body. Dufresne recovered and landed big punches of her own. A hard uppercut connected for Reneau and she cracked Dufresne with another right hook. In the final 30 seconds, Reneau landed punches and more knees to the body. 10-9 Reneau.

Round 2:
Reneau stuffed a takedown and landed a knee and a right hook in round two. She countered Dufresne’s slow leg kicks with hard right hands and scored with some nice kicks of her own. Punches and a knee to the body scored for Reneau, and Dufresne was forced to pull half-guard. Reneau stood back up and Dufresne followed. Reneau snapped her head back with right hands and continued to dominate the striking exchanges. She hurt Dufresne with punches and knees just before the bell. 10-9 Reneau, if not a 10-8.

Round 3:
Reneau mixed things up with head kicks and quick one-twos early in round three. She followed with combinations and chopped away at Dufresne’s lead leg with kicks. A powerful flurry backed Dufresne up and Reneau stunned her with two more right hooks. Dufresne tried for a weak takedown and Reneau easily avoided it. She landed another four-punch combination and continued to batter a bloodied Dufresne. Stiff jabs and hard right hands rocked Dufresne late in the fight, but she narrowly made it to the bell. 10-8 Reneau.

Winner: Marion Reneau by Unanimous Decision (30-25, 30-26, 30-26) after three rounds. She improves to 5-1-0.

 

  1. Daniel looked disappointing. Like he decided not to show up in the final two rounds. I was upset. He ain’t no Cain Velasquez, that’s for sure. Cain would pound Jones into oblivion for 5 rounds and probably take him out after 3. That fight showed one thing…Jon Jones can be beaten by a grinder that punches hard and is in shape. I was not impressed by all this GOAT shit.
