Reign Training Center representative Ashlee “The Terminator” Evans-Smith improved to 5-3 as an amateur and claimed the vacant Tuff-N-Uff 140-pound women’s title Saturday at Tuff-N-Uff: “The Fist-ival” in Las Vegas, Nevada. Evans-Smith took a clear-cut decision over Bridgette “Black Wolf” Batch.

Jocelyn “Lights Out” Lybarger captured the Tuff-N-Uff 125-pound women’s title by edging out Ashley Yoder via Split Decision. Lybarger’s twin sister, Jillian, withdrew due to an injury that prevented her from making weight and her 115-pound title was awarded to Stephanie “The Shark” Gonzalez.

Evans-Smith (5-3-0), a late replacement on the card, was dominant right from the start against Batch (2-3-0), who was never able to get anything going. Evans-Smith remained in control of the fight through all three 3:00 rounds to take the one-sided Unanimous Decision victory. In the process, she added the Tuff-N-Uff 140-pound women’s championship to her mantle and got back on track after dropping her last Tuff-N-Uff bout to former 145-pound titleholder Taylor “No Mercy” Stratford.

Lybarger (4-2-0) had initially planned to compete alongside twin sister Jillian one final time before both move on to the pro ranks. When Jillian was forced off of the card, Jocelyn soldiered on. Her efforts paid off on Saturday night, as she was able to secure a competitive Split Decision victory over Ashley Yoder (1-4-0) to take home the Tuff-N-Uff 125-pound women’s title, which was formerly held by Jenny Yum in 2010. Like Evans-Smith, Lybarger also used the title victory to curb a two-fight losing skid.

In non-title action earlier in the night, Paulina “Fire Fox” Granados (3-0-0) picked up the biggest victory of her young amateur career by defeating Xtreme Couture and Drysdale Jiu-Jitsu prospect Jordan McDonald (4-3-0). Granados used an early trip takedown to get McDonald down to the mat and she kept her there throughout round one while working from side control. The remaining 2:00 rounds were very even, and while McDonald looked to have a slight edge in the third and final stanza, it was not enough and Granados was awarded the Split Decision victory.

Lastly, Christine Ferea (1-0-0) won her amateur MMA debut by knocking out Jamie “The Hurt” Herod (0-2-0) in just 33 seconds. After an early exchange, Ferea put Herod down for good with a single punch to score the knockout in quick and impressive fashion.
