The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale Live ResultsSeason 11 of The Ultimate Fighter wrapped up tonight at the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada. This season’s finale was headlined by the Middleweight final between Court “The Crusher” McGee and Kris “Savage” McCray, while Matt “The Hammer” Hamill took on “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine in a pivotal co-main event.

Also on the card, former contender Chris “The Crippler” Leben got back on track when he handed Aaron “A-Train” Simpson his first career loss in middleweight action. MMARising.com has live play-by-play for the card.

 

TUF 11 Middleweight Final

Court “The Crusher” McGee vs Kris “Savage” McCray

Round 1:
The fighters traded punches right away and clinched briefly, then backed away. McCray landed a body kick and clinched again. He landed a knee, but McGee took him down. McCray looked to posture for a triangle choke, but settled for full guard. McGee pressed him up against the cage and landed punches as McCray stood. McGee took him down again and landed short elbows, then stood and rained down a big right hand.

McGee kept the pressure on with strikes from the top, but McCray battled back to his feet. Both landed punches and McGee tried for a trip takedown. McCray stayed on his feet and McGee backed him up to the cage. He took McCray down again and moved to mount, but McCray bucked him off and stood up. The fighters clinched again, but McCray backed away and scored with a body kick. McGee drilled him with punches late in the round. 10-9 McGee.

Round 2:
More punches were exchanged in close in the second round and McGee scored a takedown. He landed in mount and tried for an arm-triangle choke, but let it go. McGee threw short punches to the head and body and looked to set up a submission. McCray gave up his back and McGee tried for a rear-naked choke, but McCray scrambled and stood up.

The fighters traded punches until McGee slammed McCray down to the mat. He worked from McCray’s half-guard against the cage until McCray gave up his back. McGee secured a rear-naked choke and McCray was forced to submit. Big victory for McGee, who becomes this season’s Ultimate Fighter.

Winner: Court McGee by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 3:41 of round two. He improves to 10-1-0 and becomes the TUF 11 Middleweight Winner.

 

Matt “The Hammer” Hamill vs “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine

Round 1:
Jardine landed a nice left hook early on and both fighters jabbed. Hamill punched his way into a clinch, but Jardine quickly broke free. Hamill jabbed and landed a leg kick. Jardine answered with quick jabs of his own and a hard kick. More leg kicks landed for Jardine and the fighters continued to trade jabs. Jardine landed a one-two and a body kick. A bloodied Hamill answered with an uppercut.

Jardine put together a big combination that backed Hamill up, but he recovered and looked to shoot in for a takedown. Jardine easily stuffed it and landed more leg kicks. He followed with a pair of flurries in close and a big kick to the liver. Hamill threw a body kick of his own, but Jardine tagged him with a pair of one-twos. Hamill threw a lunging left hook and a leg kick and Jardine countered with more quick punches. 10-9 Jardine.

Round 2:
More jabs were exchanged in the second round and Hamill just missed with a knee in close. He landed a body kick and Jardine promptly answered with one of his own. Quick punches landed for Jardine and he kept the pressure on with two vicious leg kicks. Jardine threw a high kick that was blocked and stepped out of a takedown attempt from Hamill. More punches and a leg kick followed for Jardine, but Hamill landed a leg kick and a flurry in return.

Jardine landed more kicks to the ribs and leg of Hamill, but Hamill opened a cut below Jardine’s left eye with a right hand. Hamill flurried and backed Jardine up with a head kick. He battered Jardine with more punches and Jardine’s mouthpiece fell out. Time was called seconds later after Hamill was thumbed in the eye. In a ridiculous ruling, Herb Dean penalised Jardine one point for what was clearly an accidental foul. The fight resumed and Jardine rushed in with frenetic strikes.

Both fighters landed big punches in a lengthy exchange and Hamill scored with a head kick. Jardine fell to the mat and Hamill struck from the top. Jardine got back to his feet, but was a bloody mess from at least two cuts around his right eye. Hamill landed more punches in the final ten seconds. 10-8 Hamill due to the highly questionable point deduction.

Round 3:
Big punches landed for both fighters in the final round and it was Hamill who scored with leg kicks and an uppercut. Jardine, bleeding badly, fired back with a combination, but Hamill took him down. He tried to secure a rear-naked choke against the cage, then tripped Jardine to his back. Jardine scrambled to his feet and time was called to check Jardine’s cut, which was just to the right side of the top of his nose. The fight continued and Jardine stuffed a takedown.

Jardine landed a quick flurry and a leg kick. He jabbed and scored with a one-two. Another jab landed for Jardine, but his mouthpiece fell out. Time was called to replace it, but the fight resumed once again and Hamill landed a knee. A stiff jab followed for Hamill, but Jardine landed a nice counter one-two. He stuffed a takedown from Hamill and landed another one-two. Jardine landed a big leg kick and tried to set up a right hand late in the round. 10-9 Hamill.

Winner: Matt Hamill by Majority Decision (29-27, 29-27, 28-28) after three rounds. He improves to 9-2-0.

 

Chris “The Crippler” Leben vs Aaron “A-Train” Simpson

Round 1:
Simpson landed two punches early on and Leben answered with a leg kick. Simpson kept the pressure on with a flurry and slammed Leben to the mat. Leben tried to work back to his feet against the cage, but found himself stuck in a guillotine choke. He escaped and landed punches and knees to Simpson’s ribs. Simpson answered with knees of his own and briefly looked for another guillotine choke.

The fighters separated and exchanged punches. Simpson clinched again and slammed Leben down. Leben appeared to be stunned momentarily as Simpson drilled him with punches. Leben recovered and stood up. He threw big left hands, but only one landed. Simpson jacked Leben’s jaw with two big shots and landed more seconds later, but Leben was unfazed. The fighters traded strikes in close and Simpson tried for a takedown before the bell. 10-9 Simpson.

Round 2:
Both fighters landed hard punches in a pair of exchanges in the second round and Simpson clinched against the cage. He backed away and drilled Leben with a trio of punches, but Leben continued to press forward and wobbled Simpson with looping hooks. Simpson stayed on his feet and clinched again. The fighters separated and Leben pushed forward with big left hands. Leben landed a leg kick and followed with a lunging right hook as Simpson circled to the side.

Simpson appeared to be fatigued and he failed in a takedown attempt. The fighters traded front kicks and power punches. Leben cracked Simpson with a left hook, but Simpson answered with a right. Leben added leg kicks and a one-two. He swarmed with punches and Simpson dropped to his knees. More punches landed for Leben and Simpson tried to get to his feet. He stumbled all the way across the cage and referee Josh Rosenthal wisely stopped the fight.

Winner: Chris Leben by TKO (Punches) at 4:17 of round two. He improves to 20-6-0.

 

Dennis Siver vs Spencer “The King” Fisher

Round 1:
The fighters exchanged kicks early on and Fisher connected to the ribs. A follow-up kick strayed low and time was called. Siver recovered and the fight resumed. Siver ducked into a kick and Fisher followed with a second. Siver cracked him with a counter right hand and sent Fisher off-balance with a front kick to the face. Fisher punched his way into a clinch, but Siver broke free with a one-two. Siver, bleeding from above the left eye, landed a nice left hand.

Both fighters landed kicks and punches as the pace remained high. Siver scored with a one-two and continued to throw front kicks to the face. Siver landed a leg kick and Fisher answered with one of his own. A now badly bloodied Siver threw more kicks to the legs and body and Fisher countered with a body kick and two punches. He missed with a wild kick and sidestepped a spinning back kick from Siver. Replays showed that Siver’s cut was caused by an accidental head butt. 10-9 Siver.

Round 2:
Fisher connected with a head kick early in round two and Siver answered with two right hands. Fisher landed a leg kick and Siver returned to front kicks to the head and body. Hard leg kicks were exchanged and Fisher threw another head kick. Siver threw a big right hand, but Fisher defended and circled to the side. Fisher landed a leg kick, but was immediately countered by a right hook and a kick. Siver caught a kick and sent Fisher to the mat with a right hand.

Fisher stood and Siver landed more punches. The fighters traded kicks and Siver landed a punch-kick combo. He continued to mix things up with kicks to the legs and body and Fisher looked to fly in with a lunging punch. A one-two landed for Siver and he followed with big kicks to the right leg and ribs of Fisher. Late in the round, Fisher attempted a spinning back elbow and Siver replied with another spinning back kick. 10-9 Siver.

Round 3:
Fisher landed a head kick in the final round, but was hit with a kick to the groin. Time was called, but Fisher recovered and the fight resumed. Both fighters threw punches in a lengthy exchange and Siver returned to body kicks. He kept Fisher guessing with a variety of punches and kicks and landed a one-two. A left hook and a front kick to the ribs landed for Siver. Fisher answered with two solid punches and a head kick. He followed with a knee in close.

Siver remained the aggressor and landed punches and a kick, but Fisher held strong and landed a right hook in return. Another right hook landed for Fisher and both fighters threw leg kicks. Siver put together combinations of punches, but Fisher drilled him with a three-punch flurry. Siver threw front kicks and head kicks, then connected with a left hook. Fisher landed a nice flurry, but was immediately countered by punches from Siver, who landed two more left hooks late in the round. Very close. 10-9 Siver.

Winner: Dennis Siver by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 15-7-0.

 

Rich “The Raging Bull” Attonito vs Jamie “The Chosyn 1” Yager

Round 1:
Yager connected with a hard counter right hand early on and followed up with two more, but Attonito was unfazed. He blocked another big right hand from Yager, but Yager connected with a one-two. The fighters clinched and Attonito tried for a takedown against the cage. He got Yager down, but Yager immediately exploded back to his feet. He landed a leg kick and backed Attonito up with a knee. Yager landed another leg kick and an uppercut as Attonito pressed forward.

Attonito scored with a counter right hook as Yager threw a kick, but Yager replied with a one-two. Attonito connected with a lunging left hook and Yager circled away. Attonito landed a right hook and clinched against the cage again. Yager defended with elbows and Attonito backed away. Yager threw left hooks, but was cracked by a right cross. Yager landed unorthodox kicks in the final seconds. Very close round. 10-9 Yager.

Round 2:
The fighters traded punches in the second round and Attonito missed with a wild right hand. Yager landed a body kick and looked to keep Attonito at a distance as Attonito threw a kick and a punch that missed badly. Yager landed a combination and Attonito drilled him with a counter left hook. Both fighters landed leg kicks and more punches in an exchange. A hard flurry of punches scored for Attonito and Yager began to back up.

Yager threw a head kick, but Attonito remained the aggressor. He blocked a combination from Yager and landed a right hook. Another right landed for Attonito as Yager appeared to fatigue. Attonito threw a combination and Yager dove for a leg. Attonito took Yager’s back on the ground and secured a neck crank. Yager rolled and escaped, but Attonito maintained back control. He flattened Yager out and teed off with punches and hammerfists until referee Steve Mazzagatti stopped the fight.

Winner: Rich Attonito by TKO (Punches) at 4:25 of round two. He improves to 8-3-0.

 

Travis Browne vs James McSweeney

Round 1:
The fighters exchanged punches and kicks early on and McSweeney kept Browne guessing by switching stances repeatedly. He bloodied Browne’s nose and threw a variety of kicks. Browne rushed forward with a flurry and a devastating body kick. McSweeney collapsed to the mat after a left hook from Browne, who punished him with punches and elbows that opened a cut on McSweeney’s temple.

Browne landed more punches and elbows from the top, then isolated McSweeney’s arm. He continued to pepper McSweeney with strikes and then tried for a keylock. McSweeney defended, but Browne moved to mount. He rained down huge punches until referee Kim Winslow rescued McSweeney from further punishment. Impressive win for Browne.

Winner: Travis Browne by TKO (Punches) at 4:32 of round one. He improves to 10-0-0.

 

Undercard Fights:

John “Quick Guns” Gunderson defeated Mark “Boots” Holst by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 23-8-0 with the win.

Brad Tavares defeated Seth Baczynski by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 5-0-0 with the win.

Kyle “KO” Noke defeated Josh “The Beast” Bryant by TKO (Punches) at 3:12 of round two. He improves to 17-4-1 with the win.

Chris Camozzi defeated James “Sledge” Hammortree by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 13-3-0 with the win.

 

Capped off by a dominant and impressive performance by TUF 11 Middleweight Winner Court “The Crusher” McGee, The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale was a solid event. However, it may have marked the last time that fans will see “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine inside the Octagon, as the former top contender has now dropped four straight fights.
