Torres and Rawlings began the competition together on Team Melendez, but Torres, who was upset in her initial qualifying bout, was brought back into contention and moved to Team Pettis when Justine Kish suffered an injury. With the win over Rawlings, she moves on to the quarterfinal round.

Seven More Fights Announced For Invicta FC 10 In TexasSeven more fights have been confirmed for Invicta Fighting Championships 10, which takes place on December 5th at Arena Theatre in Houston, Texas. The all-female card is headlined by a previously announced atomweight title bout between Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson and Hérica Tibúrcio.

Emi Tomimatsu Defeats Hyo Kyung Song At Road FC 19Former Deep Jewels interim lightweight champ Emi Tomimatsu returned to her winning ways with a well-deserved Split Decision victory on Sunday night at Road Fighting Championship 19 in Seoul, South Korea. Tomimatsu outpointed Hyo Kyung Song in a two-round strawweight bout on the card.

Song had moments of success on the feet in both rounds, but Tomimatsu’s takedowns and superior grappling allowed her to control most of the fight in the clinch and on the mat. Song secured a sweep and finished the fight strong with ground and pound, but it was not enough to steal back the win.

Juliana Lima Outpoints Nina Ansaroff At UFC Fight Night 56Competing in her home state, Juliana “Ju Thai” de Lima Carneiro picked up her first Octagon victory tonight at UFC Fight Night 56: “Shogun vs St. Preux” in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Lima defeated UFC newcomer Nina “The Strina” Ansaroff in strawweight action on tonight’s main card.

Lima kept Ansaroff pinned down on the mat during much of rounds one and two, but Ansaroff remained active from her back and Lima’s offensive attacks were limited. The pace slowed in the final round and Ansaroff got the better of the striking exchanges, but still came up short on the scorecards.

Seo Hee Ham Returns To Strawweight, Signs With The UFCDeep Jewels Featherweight Champion Seo Hee Ham will become the first Korean female fighter to compete inside the world-famous Octagon when she makes her UFC debut in the coming months. Ham, who is set to move back up to strawweight, signed with the UFC at the beginning of November.

Ham’s UFC signing was first announced by Road FC officials earlier this week and MMARising.com learned of additional aspects of the deal through a source with knowledge of the situation. Ham recently retained her 48kg Deep Jewels title by submitting Saori “Shooting Star” Ishioka on Monday.

TUF 20 Episode 7 Recap: Rose Namajunas Submits Alex ChambersHighly-touted prospect “Thug” Rose Namajunas notched the first victory for Team Melendez during tonight’s seventh episode of The Ultimate Fighter 20: “A Champion Will Be Crowned.” Namajunas put her team on the board by submitting Team Pettis’s Alex “Astro Girl” Chambers late in round one.

Both fighters felt pressure leading up to tonight’s elimination round bout, as Chambers was tasked with keeping Team Pettis’s perfect record intact and Namajunas looked to end Team Melendez’s disappointing losing streak. In the end, Namajunas dominated the fight and was very emotional in victory.
