Chelsea Colarelli vs Heather Clark Planned For December 10Chelsea “The Italian Princess” Colarelli will make a quick return to the cage for her fourth bout in three months. The former XFL women’s champion is expected to face Heather “Hurricane” Clark at Evolution Combat Sports Championship: “Evolution 2” on December 10th in Clovis, New Mexico.

Clark revealed plans for the 115-pound matchup today. She has won four straight fights since dropping her pro debut. Colarelli has been extremely active in 2011 and has already fought four times this year. She lost her XFL title to Ashley “Smashley” Cummins in a thrilling bout this past weekend.

Hatsu Hioki To Face Bart Palaszewski At UFC 144 In JapanJapanese standout Hatsu Hioki will compete on home soil for his second bout inside the Octagon. Hioki has agreed to face ten-year veteran Bart “Bartimus” Palaszewski at UFC 144 on February 26, 2012 in Saitama, Japan. MMAWeekly.com first reported the planned bout on Sunday.

Hioki eked out a razor-thin Split Decision win over George Roop in his UFC debut three weeks ago. The former Shooto, TKO and Sengoku champion has tasted defeat just once in his past 15 fights. Palaszewski has won five of six and scored a first-round knockout of Tyson Griffin at UFC 137.

Jessica Aguilar Defeats Lisa Ellis-Ward In Bellator 58 RematchThough she was unable to make the 115-pound weight limit, Jessica “Jag” Aguilar avenged the first defeat of her career tonight at Bellator Fighting Championships 58 in Hollywood, Florida. Aguilar earned a Unanimous Decision win over rival Lisa Ellis-Ward after three hard-fought rounds.

Also on tonight’s Bellator 58 card, Michael Chandler captured the Bellator Lightweight Championship from former champion Eddie Alvarez in one of the promotion’s best fights of the year. Chandler survived a rough third round and submitted the highly-touted Alvarez in round four to claim the title.

Yana Kunitskaya Stops Arune Lauzeckaite At Bushido Hero'sBushido Women’s Champion Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya made short work of her opponent this evening at Bushido Hero’s: World Grand Prix Lithuania. Competing for the first time in 11 months, Kunitskaya stopped challenger Arune Lauzeckaite in less than two minutes in a dominant performance.

Kunitskaya had been absent from MMA competition since a win over Cindy “Battlecat” Dandois last December, but kept busy in kickboxing bouts this year. Ring rust did not appear to play a factor tonight, as Kunitskaya took Lauzeckaite down and punched from mount until the fight was stopped.

Ashley Cummins Defeats Chelsea Colarelli, Claims XFL TitleFollowing an 8-0 amateur career, top prospect Ashley “Smashley” Cummins made the most of her professional debut tonight at XFL: “Xtreme Fight Night 5” in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Cummins defeated Texas native Chelsea “The Italian Princess” Colarelli to capture the XFL 115-pound women’s championship.

The fighters engaged in a back-and-forth battle through five rounds and both threatened with submissions on the ground, where much of the fight was contested. In the fifth and final round, Cummins worked from side control and took Colarelli’s back, then secured a rear-naked choke for the victory.

Ronda Rousey Submits Julia Budd, Plans Drop To 135Olympic bronze medallist in judo “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey wasted little time in picking up her second Strikeforce victory tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rousey submitted Julia “The Jewel” Budd at Strikeforce Challengers 20 with a 39-second armbar that left Budd’s right elbow visibly dislocated.

Tonight’s fight could be the last time that Rousey competes at 145 pounds for the foreseeable future, however. Following her win, Rousey campaigned for a title fight with Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha “Takedown” Tate, and challenged number one contender Sarah Kaufman.
