The bout takes place at Botnia Punishment 11 in Kankaanpää’s hometown of Seinäjoki, Finland.

Yamaguchi picked up a close decision victory over Mika “Future Princess” Nagano at Jewels: “17th Ring” in December. She has lost just once in her past eight fights. Kankaanpää stepped in as a late replacement and upset previously unbeaten Spanish prospect Karla Banitez at Cage 16 in October.

"Windy" Tomomi Sunaba To Face Saori Ishioka On March 11Veteran striker “Windy” Tomomi Sunaba competes one final time when she faces Jewels mainstay Saori “Shooting Star” Ishioka at Pancrase Progress Tour 3 on March 11th in Tokyo, Japan. The fight will be Sunaba’s retirement bout after a 13-year career in both kickboxing and mixed martial arts.

Sunaba has long been considered one of MMA’s top female strikers and she has won five of her past six bouts. The 35-year-old has totalled a number of notable wins during her career, but she faces a stern test in her farewell fight against Ishioka, who is 11 years her junior and is also a skilled striker.

Jim Miller vs Nate Diaz Announced For UFC On FOX 3 CardA lightweight contender’s bout between jiu-jitsu specialists Jim Miller and Nate Diaz has been added to UFC on FOX 3, which will take place on May 5th in East Rutherford, New Jersey. UFC President Dana White officially announced the fight this evening. The bout could co-headline the card.

Miller picked up an impressive submission victory over Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard this past Friday in the main event of UFC on FX 1 and has won eight of his past nine fights. Diaz has posted back-to-back wins over former PRIDE ace Takanori Gomi and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Jessica Aguilar vs Patricia Vidonic Official For February 17Bellator contender Jessica “Jag” Aguilar has received the go-ahead to fight outside of the promotion on February 17th. Aguilar will face rising star “Little” Patricia Vidonic in a featured matchup at Fight Time Promotions 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The women’s bout will be the first in Fight Time history.

Aguilar posted back-to-back victories inside the Bellator cage in 2011 and the promotion hopes to match her against pound-for-pound queen Megumi “Mega Megu” Fujii this year. However, she will first have to get past the surging Vidonic, who has won six straight since dropping her pro debut.

Aisling Daly To Face Titiana Van Polanen Petel On March 24Just six weeks before she enters the inaugural Cage Warriors 125-pound women’s tournament, Ireland’s Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly will face Dutch striker Titiana van Polanen Petel at Battlezone Fighting Championships 5. The fight takes place on March 24th in Daly’s hometown of Dublin, Ireland.

Battlezone officials revealed the matchup on Sunday and both fighters subsequently confirmed their participation on Twitter. Daly has won three straight fights and captured the NAAFS 125-pound women’s title in June. Van Polanen Petel scored a first-round TKO victory this past March.

All-Female Pink Fight MMA Debuts January 29 In BrazilBrazil’s first all-female mixed martial arts promotion, Pink Fight MMA, will hold its inaugural event on January 29th in Porto Seguro, Bahia, Brazil. The card is headlined by a 125-pound bout between Maria Elisabete Tavares and Kalindra Carvalho Faria and will also include five additional fights.

Pink Fight MMA is led by successful Jungle Fight promoter Wallid Ismail, a former fighter who competed for both the UFC and PRIDE in the early days of each company. He aims to provide a new platform for female fighters to compete in Brazil and hopes to stage additional events later this year.

Sara McMann Dominates Hitomi Akano In ProElite 3 Co-Main2004 Olympic silver medallist Sara McMann put her wrestling skills to good use this evening in the co-main event of ProElite 3: “Grove vs Minowa” in Honolulu, Hawaii. McMann earned the biggest win of her MMA career and kept her perfect record intact by defeating Hitomi “Girlfight Monster” Akano.

McMann threw Akano to the mat countless times in their three-round bout and showcased a considerable strength advantage over her Japanese foe by controlling the fight wherever it went. Akano was active from the bottom, but it was not enough and McMann earned a dominant Unanimous Decision.
