Cat Zingano Injured, Off Invicta Fighting Championships 1 CardAn untimely injury has forced unbeaten rising star Cat “Alpha” Zingano off of the upcoming Invicta Fighting Championships 1 card on April 28th in Kansas City, Kansas. MMARising.com confirmed the news with a source close to the promotion today. The nature of Zingano’s injury is currently unknown.

Zingano was scheduled to face XFL champion Anita “El Tigre” Rodriguez in a bantamweight clash on the inaugural Invicta FC card. The bout has been scrapped entirely and the all-female event will now proceed with 11 fights. Rodriguez may still compete in the event of another main card injury.

Sam Stout vs Spencer Fisher 3 Added To UFC On FX 4 In JuneLightweight rivals Sam “Hands of Stone” Stout and Spencer “The King” Fisher will face off for a third time at UFC on FX 4 on June 22nd in Atlantic City, New Jersey. UFC officials announced the bout on Tuesday. Fisher defeated Stout in the pair’s June 2007 rematch at UFC Fight Night 10.

Both fighters enter the trilogy bout coming off of losses to Thiago Tavares in their most recent fights, but Stout has won four of his past six and remains a threat in the lightweight division. By contrast, Fisher is in need of a big victory in June after dropping four of his past five inside the Octagon.

Megumi Fujii vs Jessica Aguilar Confirmed For Bellator 69Top-ranked strawweight fighters Megumi “Mega Megu” Fujii and Jessica “Jag” Aguilar are set to face off in a featured matchup at Bellator Fighting Championships 69 on May 18th in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney confirmed the bout with MMARising.com earlier today.

Fujii and Aguilar will fight at 115 pounds, but both are likely to be part of a Bellator 125-pound women’s tournament that is currently targeted for late 2012 or early 2013. Rebney discussed tentative plans for the eight-woman tournament and listed names of some of its potential participants.

The 17-year-old karateka faces 2011 Girls S-Cup semi-finalist Mina at Shoot Boxing 2012: “Road To S-Cup, Act.2” in Tokyo, Japan. Promotional officials announced the bout earlier today.

Two-time Girls S-Cup champion Rena Kubota was also set to compete on the April 13th card, but she has been forced out due to a fractured foot that will require surgery. An opponent had not yet been announced for Kubota and a timetable for the promotional poster girl’s return is currently unknown.

Top 10 Fighter Rankings Update For April 2012Female fighters took centre stage during the month of March and the latest rankings update includes a number of significant changes. New Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey takes over the top spot at 135 pounds after her impressive main event win on March 3rd.

On the same Strikeforce card, former champion Sarah Kaufman won for the third straight time to set up a future title fight. In other action, Sheila “The German Tank” Gaff and Katja Kankaanpää earned key victories that have vaulted both women up the ranks at 125 and 115 pounds, respectively.

Milana Dudieva Stops Danielle West In Brief ProFC 40 BoutRussian standout Milana Dudieva posted her eighth straight victory tonight at ProFC 40 in Volgograd, Russia. Dudieva stopped England’s Danielle “The Curse” West with punches in just 24 seconds, though the stoppage may have been premature and there was confusion following the bout.

West was aggressive right from the outset of the fight, but Dudieva kept her distance and landed a pair of counter rights that stunned her opponent on the way in. A right hook sent West to the mat and Dudieva continued to throw punches until the fight was waved off as a dejected West looked on.
