A strawweight matchup between Joanne Calderwood and fellow Invicta FC veteran “Slick” Sally Krumdiack has been added to Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 53 on April 13th in Glasgow, Scotland. Cage Warriors officials announced plans for the 115-pound main card fight earlier today.
Calderwood is one of the sport’s top female strikers and remains unbeaten in her MMA career. She most recently defeated late-replacement opponent Livia “T-Rex” von Plettenberg at Invicta FC 4. Krumdiack returns to CWFC for the first time since 2010 and looks to rebound from a July decision loss.

Despite a late opponent change, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos will still compete at Invicta Fighting Championships 5 on April 5th in Kansas City, Missouri. The former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion is now scheduled to face off against Australian grappler Fiona Muxlow on the main card.
Invicta FC officials announced the bout late on Tuesday evening. Muxlow, who was first set to face Julia “The Jewel” Budd, steps in to face Santos after Ediane “India” Gomes withdrew due to a rib injury in training. Budd is expected to remain on the card and she now waits for a new opponent.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist Ediane “India” Gomes has suffered an injury in training and is out of her Invicta Fighting Championships 5 bout against former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos. The fight had been set for April 5th in Kansas City, Missouri.
MMARising.com learned of Gomes’s injury earlier today. MMAjunkie.com reported on additional details this afternoon. A timetable for Gomes’s return to action is not yet known. Santos currently awaits a replacement opponent on the card and the promotion has yet to make an official statement.

Strikeforce veteran Amanda “Lioness of the Ring” Nunes has sustained an arm injury and is out of her Invicta Fighting Championships 5 bout on April 5th in Kansas City, Missouri. In Nunes’s place, unbeaten prospect Lauren Taylor has stepped in to face Kaitlin Young in a bantamweight matchup.
MMARising.com confirmed the change with sources close to the bout today. Taylor recently relocated from Alaska and picked up a dominant first-round TKO win over Jennifer “Superstar” Scott at Legacy Fighting Championship 18. Young is set to compete for the fourth time under the Invicta FC banner.

A back injury has forced Nicdali “The Night Queen” Rivera-Calanoc out of a planned atomweight bout against “Sassy” Cassie Rodish at Invicta Fighting Championships 5 on April 5th in Kansas City, Missouri. England’s Simona Soukupova has stepped in to face Rodish on the event’s preliminary card.

Former K-1 World Grand Prix Champion Mark Hunt will face his toughest UFC opponent to date on May 25th at UFC 160: “Velasquez vs Silva 2” in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hunt has stepped in to face former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior “Cigano” dos Santos in the co-main event on the card.
MMAFighting.com first reported on plans for the matchup earlier today. Dos Santos was originally booked to face another former K-1 champion, Alistair Overeem, but Overeem withdrew from the fight this week after suffering a quadriceps injury. Hunt has won four straight fights inside the Octagon.
