French-Canadian striker Valérie “Trouble” Létourneau makes her return to action on October 5th at Québec Mixed Martial Arts League 1 in Québec City, Québec. Létourneau will face former amateur standout Cassie Crisano in a bantamweight bout on the newly-formed promotion’s inaugural card.

MMARising.com confirmed plans for the featured fight with sources close to the negotiations on Friday. Létourneau has not fought since she suffered a razor-thin loss to current Invicta FC contender Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha in April 2012. Crisano drops down to 135 in search of her first pro win.

WPMF Women’s Mini Flyweight Champion Erika Kamimura and reigning J-Girls Mini Flyweight Champion Momi will meet for the newly-vacant RISE Queen title at RISE 95 on September 13th in Tokyo, Japan. The champion versus champion matchup was announced by the promotion this week.

Kamimura was first set to challenge champion Rena Kubota in a rematch for the RISE title, but Kubota vacated the belt as a result of her inability to defend the championship due to other commitments. Both Kamimura and Momi are coming off of stoppage victories at an M-Fight event in June.

Russian standout Milana Dudieva looks to rebound from her first loss in four years when she faces Swedish prospect Pannie “Banzai” Kianzad at ProFC 50. The event takes place on August 25th in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, and the 140-pound catchweight bout was officially added to the card today.

Dudieva’s impressive eight-fight winning streak was halted by recent UFC signee Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade at ProFC 47 in April. She had not lost a fight since her professional debut in February 2009. Kianzad remains unbeaten in her career and she is coming off of back-to-back TKO wins.

Six more fights have been announced for the inaugural Deep Jewels event, which takes place on August 31st in Tokyo, Japan. Top Jewels star Mika “Future Princess” Nagano is set to face off against Akiko “Betiko” Naito in what will serve as Naito’s retirement match following a ten-year career.

In other MMA action on the card, veteran contender Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino takes on Hyo Kyung Song. The event also features two kickboxing bouts and a grappling match between highly-touted Rikako Yuasa and top Japanese prospect Mizuki Inoue, who is coming off of a win at Invicta FC 6.

Former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion Jessica Penne is on a mission to regain her title. The inaugural Invicta FC champ has put forth a challenge to the woman who defeated her for the belt on April 5th, Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson, for Invicta Fighting Championships 7 later this year.

Penne overcame injuries and won the title in October when she submitted Naho “Sugi Rock” Sugiyama, but her decision to forego surgery in order to defend her new belt in April proved to be a costly one. Now healthy, Penne wants a second chance to prove that she is MMA’s top female atomweight.

One of MMA’s brightest female prospects, Tecia “The Tiny Tornado” Torres, made it three-for-three under the Invicta Fighting Championships banner with a Unanimous Decision win at Invicta FC 6 on July 13th. Torres defeated highly-touted “Thug” Rose Namajunas in a featured bout on the main card.

Torres has won all ten of her pro and amateur fights dating back to her MMA debut in September 2011 and the talented 23-year-old is one of the fastest-rising stars in the women’s strawweight division. Former Jewels star Shizuka Sugiyama needed just 76 seconds to claim victory in her Deep debut tonight at Deep: “Tokyo Impact – Lightweight GP 2013 Semifinal” in Tokyo, Japan. Sugiyama dominated an overmatched Chisa Yonezawa en route to a quick and impressive TKO stoppage.

Sugiyama opened her pro career with just two finishes in her first ten bouts, but she has now earned TKO triumphs in three straight fights. She wasted no time in taking tonight’s fight to the ground, where she unloaded with punches from mount until the referee stepped in to rescue Yonezawa.

Former top-ranked boxing champion Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm kept her perfect MMA record intact with a highlight-reel knockout victory tonight at Legacy Fighting Championship 21 in Houston, Texas. Holm stopped Allanna “Hands of Stone” Jones with a head kick in round two.

Holm overcame an inadvertent thumb to the eye in the opening round that temporarily closed her right eye, and she carefully picked her shots with quick punches and body kicks. In round two, Holm added more kicks to her attacks and a final kick to the jaw left Jones unconscious on the mat.
