Irish standout Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly will have the hometown crowd on her side when she returns to action on October 24th at UFC Fight Night 76: “Poirier vs Duffy” in Dublin, Leinster, Ireland. Daly is set to battle grappling ace Ericka Almeida in strawweight action on the preliminary card.

Both Daly and Almeida look to rebound from decision losses in their most recent UFC bouts. Daly was defeated by TUF 20 semi-finalist Randa “Quiet Storm” Markos at UFC 186 in April. Almeida suffered her first loss against countrywoman Juliana “Ju Thai” de Lima Carneiro at UFC Fight Night 67.

Atomweight contender Satomi “Sarami” Takano rebounded from a setback in a Deep Jewels title fight in May with a hard-fought win on Saturday night at Road Fighting Championship 25 in Wonju, Gangwon, South Korea. Takano edged out 18-year-old Jeon Eun Kim in a back-and-forth bout.

Takano’s three-fight winning streak was snapped by new atomweight champ “V.V” Mei Yamaguchi at Deep Jewels 8, but she got herself back on track on Saturday night with her second victory inside the Road FC cage. Takano’s strong final round was enough to earn her a narrow decision win.

Strawweight rising star Valérie “Trouble” Létourneau kept her perfect UFC record intact with an impressive victory tonight at UFC Fight Night 74: “Holloway vs Oliveira” in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Létourneau handed prospect Maryna “The Iron Woman” Moroz her first defeat.

Competing in her home country for the third straight time, Létourneau showcased her striking skills by dropping Moroz in the opening round. The Ukrainian rallied back in round two, but Létourneau shut Moroz’s offence down in the final round and walked away with a Unanimous Decision victory.

One of Shoot Boxing’s biggest stars, four-time Girls S-Cup winner Rena Kubota, captured another title belt tonight at the 2015 Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup event in Ōta, Tokyo, Japan. Kubota defeated late replacement Kane Chopirom for the vacant Shoot Boxing Women’s Flyweight Championship.

Also on the card, Kubota’s protégé, two-time JKS48 tournament winner Mio Tsumura, earned three victories in one night to claim the 2015 48kg Shoot Boxing Japan Girls S-Cup Championship. Tsumura narrowly edged J-Girls Mini Flyweight Champion Momi Furuta in a closely-contested trilogy fight.

UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey makes the next defence of her title on January 2, 2016 at UFC 195 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rousey is set to face off against former boxing champion Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm in what will likely serve as the main event.

Rousey was widely expected to face rival Miesha “Cupcake” Tate for a third time at some point in the coming months, but that fight will evidently have to wait. Rousey recently destroyed Bethe “Pitbull” Correia at UFC 190. Holm defeated Marion “The Belizean Bruiser” Reneau at UFC Fight Night 71.

In spite of a pair of last-minute lineup changes, the 2015 Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup took place tonight at Ōta-City General Gymnasium in Ōta, Tokyo, Japan. The event was headlined by a Shoot Boxing Women’s Flyweight Championship bout between Rena Kubota and Kane Chopirom.

Former women’s flyweight titleholder Ai Takahashi also received a new opponent for her non-tournament bout on the card tonight. She faced off against Hongthong Liangprasert. Tonight’s card featured all three rounds in the prestigious 2015 48kg Shoot Boxing Japan Girls S-Cup tournament.

Stepping in on just two weeks’ notice, Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade looks for her second straight win when she faces a familiar foe on September 5th at UFC 191: “Johnson vs Dodson 2” in Las Vegas, Nevada. Andrade is set to face Raquel “Rocky” Pennington in a bantamweight rematch on the card.

Pennington was initially slated to face off against Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche in two weeks, but an injury forced Carmouche out of the fight. Andrade and Pennington first faced off at UFC 171 in March 2014 when Andrade eked out a narrow Split Decision victory over Pennington in a closely-contested bout.
