Deep Jewels made its return to the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday afternoon for Deep Jewels 37, which featured three championship fights. The event was headlined by the finals of the promotion’s flyweight grand prix, which crowned the inaugural Deep Jewels Flyweight Champion.

Deep Jewels Strawweight Champion Seika Izawa stayed unbeaten and also added a second title to her collection tonight at Rizin Fighting Federation 35 in Chofu, Tokyo, Japan. Izawa defeated Ayaka Hamasaki once again in a rematch to become Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Champion.

While tonight’s victory was not as dominant as in December, when Izawa stopped Hamasaki in the second round of their non-title bout at Rizin FF 33, it was nevertheless an excellent performance from the fast-rising star. Former two-time Rizin FF title challenger Kanna Asakura got back on track with a much-needed victory tonight at Rizin Fighting Federation 35 in Chofu, Tokyo, Japan. Asakura took a hard-fought Unanimous Decision over Shooto champion Satomi “Sarami” Takano in a 49kg super atomweight bout.

Asakura, who was coming off of back-to-back Split Decision defeats in 2021, used her wrestling skills to take Takano down multiple times tonight. Takano was active off of her back with submission attempts, but Asakura’s top control and ground and pound were enough to earn her a close win.

A third title fight has been added to the stacked Deep Jewels 37 card, which takes place on May 8th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Deep Jewels Atomweight Champion Saori Oshima defends against 17-year-old rising star Moeri Suda, who looks to become the promotion’s youngest champion.

Deep Jewels officials announced the championship fight today. Both fighters competed two weeks ago at Deep Jewels 36, with very different outcomes. Oshima suffered a decision loss to Namiko “Hime” Kawabata in a non-title 49kg bout, while Suda quickly finished former title challenger Hikaru Aono.

A second women’s super atomweight matchup has been added to the Rizin Fighting Federation 35 card on April 17th in Chofu, Tokyo, Japan. Former title challenger Kanna Asakura looks to halt a two-fight losing skid when she welcomes Shooto champion Satomi “Sarami” Takano to the promotion.

Rizin FF officials announced the 49kg bout today. Asakura is coming off of an upset loss to Deep Jewels Atomweight Champion Saori Oshima at Rizin FF 31 in October. Takano brings a three-fight winning streak into her Rizin FF debut and captured the 110-pound Shooto women’s title in November.

Former Pancrase champion Rin Nakai took one step closer to capturing another title with a second-round stoppage victory tonight at Deep Jewels 36 in Tokyo, Japan. Nakai finished Shoko Fujita in the main event and now advances to semi-final round of the Deep Jewels Flyweight Grand Prix.

Undefeated Deep Jewels Strawweight Champion Seika Izawa scored the biggest victory of her young MMA career tonight at Rizin Fighting Federation 33 in Saitama, Japan. Izawa stopped Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Champion Ayaka Hamasaki in round two of their non-title 49kg matchup.

Izawa, who has only been competing professionally in MMA for 14 months, hurt Hamasaki with a series of upkicks in the first round and continued that momentum en route to a second-round TKO stoppage. Also tonight, Si Woo Park upset promotional superstar Rena Kubota in a close bout at 50kg.
