Former Invicta FC title contender DeAnna “The Argentine Assassin” Bennett won in quick and impressive fashion during tonight’s second episode of The Ultimate Fighter 26: “A New World Champion.” Bennett, representing Team Alvarez, finished Team Gaethje’s Karine “The Princess” Gevorgyan.
Bennett’s victory evened the team competition at 1-1, following Roxanne “The Happy Warrior” Modafferi’s stoppage win for Team Gaethje during last week’s premiere. Bennett took Gevorgyan down and dominated the action on the mat before finishing her foe with a barrage of ground and pound.
Three-time title challenger Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya reclaimed the belt that was taken from her this past year with a hard-fought decision win on August 31st at Invicta Fighting Championships 25. Kunitskaya defeated Raquel “Lionheart” Pa’aluhi to become the new Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion.
Invicta Fighting Championships showcased its 25th all-female card tonight at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, California. Invicta FC 25 was headlined by a vacant bantamweight championship bout between Raquel “Lionheart” Pa’aluhi and top contender Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya.
Number one seed Roxanne “The Happy Warrior” Modafferi took her first step toward a shot at UFC title gold with a dominant victory on tonight’s premiere episode of The Ultimate Fighter 26: “A New World Champion.” The veteran Modafferi stopped #16 seed Shana Dobson with first-round elbows.
UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones regained his title and the top spot at 205 pounds with a big victory on July 29th at UFC 214, but the win did not come without controversy. Jones stopped long-time rival Daniel “D.C.” Cormier in a rematch, but failed a pre-fight USADA drug test.
Former Deep Jewels Atomweight Champion Seo Hee Ham reclaimed a spot among the top three at 105 pounds with an impressive win on June 10th at Road Fighting Championship 39. Ham stopped current Deep Jewels champ Mina Kurobe to become the first Road FC Women’s Atomweight Champion.
Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm halted a three-fight losing skid with a devastating knockout victory tonight at UFC Fight Night 111 in Kallang, Singapore. Holm finished an overconfident Bethe “Pitbull” Correia with a head kick in the main event.
Former Deep Jewels champ Seo Hee Ham captured another major title with a dominant win tonight at Road Fighting Championship 39 in Seoul, South Korea. Ham stopped current Deep Jewels titleholder Mina Kurobe in round three to become the inaugural Road FC Women’s Atomweight Champion.
