Daniel “Willycat” Santos vs Johnny “Kid Kvenbo” Munoz Jr.

Round 1:
Time was called immediately when Munoz was kicked in the groin. The fight eventually resumed and Munoz pulled guard. He threw up his legs for an armbar and then stunned Santos with two upkicks. Santos fell into a triangle choke, but he was able to escape and the fight returned to the feet. Munoz landed a jumping knee and time was called again when Santos sustained a groin kick. The fight continued and Munoz clinched after ducking under a right hook. Santos pushed him away and Munoz pulled guard again. Santos stood up and Munoz followed. He tried to jump on Santos’s back and slipped of. Munoz wound up on the bottom on the ground and Santos stood up. Back-and-forth round. 10-9 Munoz, just barely.

Round 2:
Santos closed the distance and landed a leg kick and a left hook. Munoz pulled guard and Santos punched from the top. He followed with an elbow and more punches, then stood over Munoz and kicked at his left leg. Santos settled back into Munoz’s guard and he landed some hard punches from the top. More punches scored to Munoz’s body and head. Santos stood and kicked at Munoz’s leg again, then forced him to stand up. Munoz shot in for a takedown and Santos stuffed it. He kicked Munoz’s leg and finished the round on top in Munoz’s guard. Clear 10-9 for Santos.

Round 3:
Yet another timeout was called when Munoz was kicked in the groin to begin the final round. Santos was docked one point for the foul. The fight continued after an extended delay and Munoz pulled guard. Santos stood over him and kicked at his leg. Munoz stood and moved forward with a body kick before jumping into a flying guillotine choke. Santos escaped and he retook top position on the ground. The fighters were stood up and Munoz secured a much-needed takedown. Santos pushed him off and landed a powerful upkick. Munoz lost his balance and Santos briefly entered his guard. He stood over Munoz, then allowed him to stand, and Santos threw a spinning kick to end the fight. 9-9 due to the point deduction.

Winner: Daniel Santos by Unanimous Decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-27) after three rounds. He improves to 12-2-0.

 

Don’Tale “Lord Kong” Mayes vs Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski

Round 1:
Arlovski landed a hard right hook in the opening seconds and he followed with a second one while staying outside of Mayes’s range. Arlovski stepped in with another right hand and avoided lunging counters from Mayes, who continued to struggle to land anything. He finally connected with a stiff jab, but was not able to follow up. Arlovski landed a spinning back elbow late in the round, but Mayes countered with an elbow of his own and a Superman Punch. 10-9 Arlovski.

Round 2:
Mayes struck first with a leg kick and a front kick to Arlovski’s body. The fighters clashed heads and time was called. Action resumed and Arlovski landed leg and body kicks of his own. Mayes scored with a straight left hand and then lunged forward with a hard left hook. Arlovski landed a right hand as Mayes threw another left. Punches were exchanged in close and both men landed combinations. Seconds later, Mayes floored Arlovski with a big right hook and he followed with three hammerfists on the ground that ended the fight.

Winner: Don’Tale Mayes by TKO (Punches) at 3:17 of round two. He improves to 10-5-0, 1 ND.

 

John “Sexi Mexi” Castañeda vs Muin “Tajik” Gafurov

Round 1:
Castañeda stuffed a takedown attempt from Gafurov in the opening minute, but Gafurov landed a solid body kick soon after and then followed with a spinning wheel kick. He caught a body kick from Castañeda, but could not take him down. Gafurov landed a spinning back kick to the body and Castañeda responded with three straight lefts that snapped Gafurov’s head back. Castañeda dropped Gafurov with a head kick and a right hook, but Gafurov recovered on the ground and he held on to Castañeda from the bottom. After a scramble for position, the fighters stood and Gafurov closed in with hooks and uppercuts. Castañeda landed a right hand late in the round. 10-9 Castañeda.

Round 2:
Gafurov fought through early punches from Castañeda and landed two combinations of his own. He remained the aggressor and partially landed with a head kick. Gafurov scored with a calf kick and a right hook, but Castañeda finally took him down into back control. He tried to secure a rear-naked choke and Gafurov shook him off of his back. He blasted Castañeda with a combination and both fighters teed off with punches. Time was called when the fighters clashed heads. Replays showed that it was caused by a headbutt from Gafurov and he was docked one point. Gafurov caught a head kick after the restart and he took Castañeda’s back. Castañeda rolled forward and Gafurov took top position on the ground. Castañeda battled back to his feet and Gafurov landed a body kick. He unloaded with looping left and right hooks. Castañeda shot in for a takedown and Gafurov elbowed him in the temple. 9-9 due to the point deduction.

Round 3:
Gafurov attacked both of Castañeda’s legs with kicks to begin the final round. He clinched and landed two uppercuts, but Castañeda fought off a takedown and he landed two left hands. Castañeda countered a Gafurov combination with a body kick, but Gafurov followed up with a left hook and clinched. Castañeda reversed the clinch and he eventually dumped Gafurov to the mat. Castañeda passed to mount and then hunted for a rear-naked choke when Gafurov gave up his back. 10-9 Castañeda.

Winner: John Castañeda by Unanimous Decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-27) after three rounds. He improves to 20-6-0.

 

Muhammadjon “Hillman” Naimov vs Jamie Mullarkey

Round 1:
Mullarkey kept Naimov on the defensive throughout the first half of round one with jabs and leg kicks, then clinched with him against the cage. Naimov broke free and Mullarkey landed a right hook. He held Naimov against the fence again and landed short punches to the body. Naimov escaped from the clinch and Mullarkey landed two knees to his body. He finished the round with a jab-cross combo. 10-9 Mullarkey.

Round 2:
The fighters traded punches on the feet in round two and Naimov landed a nice spinning back kick to the body. Mullarkey responded by taking him down and he held Naimov’s back as he got to his feet. Mullarkey kneed Naimov’s thigh, but Naimov broke free and he grazed with a spinning wheel kick. Seconds later, Naimov floored Mullarkey with a counter right hook as Mullarkey closed the distance. Mullarkey covered up on the ground as Naimov followed up with more punches and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Muhammadjon Naimov by TKO (Punches) at 2:59 of round two. He improves to 9-2-0.

 

Elise Reed vs Jinh Yu Frey

Round 1:
Frey took the fight to the ground in the opening minute and worked from Reed’s half-guard. Reed got back to full guard and she escaped to her feet. Frey landed a one-two to the body and a leg kick, then followed with an overhand left. When Reed threw a leg kick, Frey countered with another left hand. Reed clinched and Frey broke free with a big left hook. She landed two more left hooks before the bell. 10-9 Frey.

Round 2:
After a relatively uneventful start to the second round, Reed jabbed and landed leg kicks. She followed with two right hooks and a body kick, then a straight right hand. Frey eventually secured a takedown and she threw short left hands from the top. This continued until the final minute when Reed managed to kick her off and stood up, and the close round ended in a clinch against the cage. 10-9 Reed due to the superior striking.

Round 3:
Frey clinched in the final round, but Reed was effective with short knees to the body and she used her jab to set up straight right hands. More knees scored for Reed in another brief clinch and she backed Frey up with a combination. Frey landed a counter right hook as Reed pressed forward, but Reed finished the round strong with a front kick and a straight right hand. 10-9 Reed.

Winner: Elise Reed by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 7-3-0.

 

Da’Mon “Da Monster” Blackshear vs Luan Lacerda

Round 1:
Blackshear landed an early front kick to the body and a lead left hook, but Lacerda countered with a right hook and Blackshear clinched. Lacerda rolled for a kneebar on Blackshear’s left leg. Blackshear freed his leg and stood up, and he greeted Lacerda with a combination of punches. Blackshear took Lacerda down, but he could not keep him there. On the feet, Blackshear jabbed and landed a right hook. He countered a Lacerda takedown with a rolling kimura shortly before the bell. 10-9 Blackshear.

Round 2:
The second round began with a prolonged exchange of punches and Blackshear’s had more force behind them. Lacerda latched on to a leg as he pulled Blackshear down to the ground. Blackshear prevented him from setting up a kneebar. Lacerda refused to let go of the leg and Blackshear punished him with hard punches to the face. They bloodied Lacerda’s nose and Blackshear continued to land heavy shots. Lacerda could not move or block the punches, and the fight was justifiably stopped.

Winner: Da’Mon Blackshear by TKO (Punches) at 3:54 of round two. He improves to 13-5-1.

 

Philipe “Monstro” Lins vs Maxim “Maximus” Grishin

Round 1:
Lins landed a big overhand right in the opening seconds and he clinched with Grishin against the cage. Grishin broke free and he landed two leg kicks. Another clinch battle followed and Lins landed a hard jab after the break. He followed with a combination and stunned Grishin with a right hook to the temple. Late in the round, Grishin landed a leg kick and a spinning back elbow. Lins countered with a combination, but two of his punches landed after the bell. 10-9 Lins.

Round 2:
Short strikes were exchanged in close during the opening two minutes in the second round until Grishin backed Lines up with an elbow. Lins recovered and fired back with a left-right combo. He held Grishin against the cage and landed a right hook as the fighters separated. In the final seconds, Lins landed a body kick and Grishin replied with an uppercut. Closer round. 10-9 Lins.

Round 3:
Grishin scored with a hard right hook and an elbow to the side of Lins’s head early in the final round. Lins clinched and Grishin landed two more elbows before Lins flurried with punches that mostly missed their mark. When the fighters separated, Grishin landed a body kick and Lins held him in a front headlock. A clinch ensued and Grishin reversed it just before the bell. Another close round. 10-9 Grishin due to damage.
