Viviane “Vivi” Araujo vs Andrea “KGB” Lee

Round 1:
Araujo dropped Lee to a knee with an early left cross, but Lee quickly recovered and she stunned Araujo with a lead left hook. Araujo dropped to a knee and Lee badly rocked her with a head kick as soon as Araujo stood up. Araujo fell face-first to the mat and Lee nearly finished her with punches. Araujo managed to survive the onslaught and she got to her feet. She slammed Lee down and Lee’s nose began to bleed. The fight returned to the feet and both women landed jabs. Lee’s nose continued to bleed and Araujo took her down into side control. She tried to set up a shoulder choke from the top, but gave it up and Lee threw upkicks when Araujo stood over her. Araujo dropped back down into side control and she landed two hammerfists from the top. 10-9 Lee despite Araujo’s second-half rally.

Round 2:
Lee landed a standing elbow early in round two, but Araujo backed her up with a right hook and three jabs. Lee shot in for a sloppy takedown and Araujo took her back. She flattened Lee out on the ground and then locked on an arm-triangle choke when Lee tried to roll over. Lee escaped from the choke and Araujo moved to side control. Lee tried to scramble up to her feet and Araujo took her back once more. She landed punches to the sides of Lee’s head and Lee tried unsuccessfully to shake Araujo off. In the final minute, Araujo flattened Lee out for a third time and landed punches. When Lee rolled over, Araujo trapped her in a tight arm-triangle choke and Lee survived until the bell. 10-8 Araujo.

Round 3:
Lee was very slow in the final round and Araujo easily took her down after landing a few jabs on the feet. She landed short elbows to Lee’s face from the top in half-guard, then passed to side control. Lee was able to get back to her feet against the cage and the fighters separated. Araujo also slowed down, but she landed two jabs and Lee fell after missing with an ill-advised crescent kick attempt. Araujo held on to a loose shoulder choke from side control and then took Lee’s back. Lee shook her off in the final seconds and Araujo attempted a heel hook. Lee countered with right hands until the bell. 10-9 Araujo.

Winner: Viviane Araujo by Unanimous Decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 11-3-0.

 

Michael “The Menace” Johnson vs Alan Patrick “Nuguette” Silva Alves

Round 1:
Johnson landed a hard one-two right away and Silva Alves was unsuccessful with a takedown. Johnson cracked him with a left hand, but Silva Alves landed a straight left in return and he initiated a clinch. Johnson broke free and time was briefly called when he was poked in the eye. Silva Alves landed two front kicks to the body after the restart and Johnson backed him up with a left hook in return. Silva Alves threw a spinning backfist and Johnson took him down. He passed to side control and remained there until the end of the round. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 2:
Early in the second round, Johnson landed a left hook and Silva Alves chased after him with jumping front kicks that missed. Johnson clinched momentarily and Silva Alves attempted a spinning back kick after separating. Johnson punished him with three hooks to the body and he easily sidestepped a Silva Alves shot attempt. Johnson landed a pair of hard one-twos, then dropped Silva Alves with a counter left hook. He followed up with a hammerfist on the ground that left Silva Alves unconscious and ended the fight.

Winner: Michael Johnson by KO (Punches) at 3:22 of round two. He improves to 20-17-0.

 

Virna “Carcará” Jandiroba vs Angela “Overkill” Hill

Round 1:
Jandiroba struck first with a right hook and she clinched with Hill against the cage. Jandiroba figure-foured her legs around Hill’s left leg and pulled her down to the mat. She pulled back on a kneebar, but Hill was able to break Jandiroba’s grip and she spun free. The fighters stood up and traded knees in a clinch. They separated with one minute to go and Hill got Jandiroba down, but Jandiroba reversed position on the ground almost immediately and the round came to an end. 10-9 Jandiroba.

Round 2:
Jab-cross combos were exchanged to begin round two and Jandiroba landed an overhand right. Hill prevented her from scoring a takedown and landed a three-punch flurry in response. She followed that with a knee to the body and Jandiroba secured a takedown.She moved from half-guard to North-South position and looked to isolate Hill’s left arm. She pulled back on Hill’s arm and Hill stacked Jandiroba with her knee on her face to defend. 10-9 Jandiroba.

Round 3:
Hill landed a right hook and a hard jab in the final round. Jandiroba shot in for a takedown and got Hill down into half-guard. She passed to North-South position again and then tried to take Hill’s back, but Hill was able to get back to her feet. Jandiroba promptly put her on the mat again and Hill threw elbows from the bottom. She tried to reverse into top position, but Jandiroba held her down and took Hill’s back. She threatened with a rear-naked choke in the final minute, but Hill turned over and the round ended with her on top. 10-9 Jandiroba.

Winner: Virna Jandiroba by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. She improves to 18-3-0.

 

Tatsuro Taira vs Carlos “The Cannon” Candelario

Round 1:
Candelario opened the fight with a head kick and the fighters briefly clinched. After circling away, Taira landed a right hook and Candelario replied with a left. Taira got him down to a knee, but Candelario stood back up and the fighters separated. Candelario tried unsuccessfully for a takedown and Taira cracked him with a hard right hook. He followed with one more to the body and blocked a Candelario head kick. Taira scored with a knee to the body and he took Candelario down, but Candelario stood up right away. He scored a late-round takedown and avoided a Taira guillotine choke. Candelario kept Taira pinned down against the base of the cage until the bell. 10-9 Taira despite the late takedown.

Round 2:
The second round began with Candelario attempting more head kicks and he took Taira down momentarily. Taira stood and he dropped Candelario with a straight right. Taira hopped on Candelario’s back and flattened him out on the ground. He secured a rear-naked choke, and Candelario was about to tap, but he managed to roll to his right just enough to force Taira to release the hold. Taira struck from back control and continued to hunt for a rear-naked choke. Candelario almost turned into Taira’s guard, but Taira regained back control. Candelario finally turned into top position late in the round, but he was unable to land much of anything. 10-9 Taira.

Round 3:
Time was called early in the final round when Candelario was kicked in the groin. The fight resumed and Candelario took Taira down. Taira scrambled up, but Candelario locked on a guillotine choke and pulled him back down. Taira managed to escape and Candelario landed two elbows to the side of his head. He attempted another guillotine choke, but lost the position and Taira wound up on top in Candelario’s half-guard. Candelario swept from the bottom and Taira immediately trapped him in a triangle choke. He gave up on it and took Candelario’s back. Taira threatened with a neck crank and then switched to mount while maintaining a body triangle. He rained down punches and elbows until the end of the fight. 10-9 Taira.

Winner: Tatsuro Taira by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 11-0-0.

 

Andre Petroski vs Nick Maximov

Round 1:
Maximov blocked a head kick, but Petroski landed a left hook and he stuffed a Maximov takedown. Petroski trapped Maximov in a Brabo Choke and rolled with it to his right. Maximov was rendered unconscious within seconds and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Andre Petroski by Technical Submission (Brabo Choke) at 1:16 of round one. He improves to 8-1-0.
