David “Silent Assassin” Onama vs Gabriel “Moggly” Benitez
Round 1:
Benitez started quickly with a hard liver kick and he continued to throw kicks until Onama answered with a right hook. He switched stances to southpaw and landed leg kicks of his own before returning to orthodox. Benitez flurried to the body and he landed an overhand left to Onama’s face. He knocked Onama off-balance with a leg kick and followed up with a one-two. Soon after, Benitez hurt Onama with a left hook to the eye and he swarmed on him with more punches. Onama weathered the storm and secured a clinch, but he could not hold Benitez in place for long. Onama pressed forward with punches and Benitez landed another liver kick. Onama landed a big flurry that backed Benitez up against the cage and he teed off with left and right hooks until an unconscious Benitez crashed face-first to the mat.
Winner: David Onama by KO (Punches) at 4:24 of round one. He improves to 9-1-0.
Stephanie Egger vs Jessica-Rose “Jessy Jess” Clark
Round 1:
Clark ducked under a right hand from Egger and clinched with her in the opening seconds. A stalemate ensued until Egger whipped Clark down to the mat and nearly took mount. Clark powered out from the bottom and scored a very brief takedown. The fighters stood and Egger threw Clark down into the scarf hold position. She landed hammerfists and then latched on to Clark’s left arm. Egger wrenched back on one armbar, but Clark defended. Egger rolled through and extended Clark’s arm a second time, forcing Clark to tap out.
Winner: Stephanie Egger by Submission (Armbar) at 3:44 of round one. She improves to 7-2-0.
Chas “The Scrapper” Skelly vs Mark “Mugen” Striegl
Round 1:
Skelly landed an early four-punch flurry and Striegl clinched. He held Skelly against the cage and punched to the body, but Skelly reversed the clinch and then took Striegl’s back. Striegl turned into the clinch and threw short left hands, but Skelly muscled him down to the mat and worked from the top in Striegl’s guard. Striegl threw elbows from the bottom and Skelly punched to the body. He stood over Striegl and dropped a right hand to his face, but Striegl tied him up on the ground again and finished the round with hammerfists from his back. 10-9 Skelly.
Round 2:
In the second round, Skelly hopped on Striegl’s back and pulled him down to the ground, but Striegl quickly spun into Skelly’s guard and the fight returned to the feet. Skelly landed an elbow and then dropped Striegl with a big knee. Striegl rolled over and Skelly landed right hands until the fight was stopped.
Winner: Chas Skelly by TKO (Knee & Punches) at 2:01 of round two. He improves to 19-3-0, 1 NC.
Gloria “Glorinha” de Paula vs Diana “The Warrior Princess” Belbita
Round 1:
Belbita kept her chin tucked and struck first with a leg kick and an overhand right. She landed a right hand to the body and another overhand right, then backed de Paula up with a flurry. De Paula reset and scored with a combination, but Belbita landed a nice right hand and that prompted de Paula to clinch. Both women landed knees to the body and de Paula’s seemed to have more force behind them. When the fighters separated, de Paula attempted a head kick that was blocked. Left hooks were exchanged and both fighters landed two-punch combos before de Paula clinched again. She landed a hard elbow at the bell. Close opening round. 10-9 Belbita.
Round 2:
The second round began with Belbita landing more leg kicks and overhand rights. De Paula answered with a combination and a clinch against the cage, where knees to the body were exchanged until Belbita pushed de Paula away. De Paula landed a jab-cross combo and stayed outside of Belbita’s range. In another clinch, de Paula landed short knees and then pulled Belbita down with a front headlock. Belbita got back to her feet with 30 seconds to go and she landed a right hand to the body. De Paula threw a head kick and Belbita responded with one of her own. Another close round. 10-9 de Paula.
Round 3:
Belbita stuffed a takedown in the final round and the fighters returned to their feet, but time was called when de Paula was poked in the left eye. Action resumed after a short break and de Paula secured a body-lock takedown into side control. Belbita popped right back up and de Paula landed knees to her body in a clinch. Belbita began to answer with knees of her own as the round entered its final 90 seconds. She escaped from the clinch with a minute to go and de Paula landed a body kick. She followed up with a head kick and a hard combination of punches that bloodied Belbita’s nose. 10-9 de Paula.
Winner: Gloria de Paula by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 6-4-0.
Chad “The Monster” Anheliger vs Jesse “Sui Generis” Strader
Round 1:
Strader took Anheliger down in the opening minute and he landed knees on the way up. Anheliger broke free and Strader flurried to the body with rapid-fire punches. He took Anheliger down again and Anheliger countered with a guillotine choke. Anheliger then switched to an armbar, but Strader managed to pull his arm out in time. Anheliger tried to stand up and Strader kept him down in a front headlock. Anheliger escaped to his feet and he landed four knees as Strader punched to the body. Late in the round, Strader just missed with a head kick attempt. 10-9 Strader.
Round 2:
The fighters exchanged quick punches in the second round and Anheliger dropped Strader with a counter right uppercut as Strader stepped forward. Anheliger took top position in Strader’s half-guard, but Strader was able to get back to his feet rather easily and he landed a knee in a clinch. Anheliger broke away with an elbow and Strader came up short with jabs. He flurried to the body again, however, and Anheliger responded with knees. He cut Strader on the right cheek with another knee and then chopped away with two leg kicks. 10-9 Anheliger.
Round 3:
Strader scored a takedown early in round three and he took Anheliger’s back as the fighters stood up against the cage. Anheliger turned into the clinch and landed two elbows to Strader’s temple. Strader could not get Anheliger back down and Anheliger pushed him away. He blocked a head kick, but Strader followed with a liver kick that landed. Two overhand lefts scored for Strader and he stepped forward into an exchange of power punches. Anheliger floored him with a massive left hook. Strader fell face-first to the mat and Anheliger dove in with more punches. Strader rolled over and Anheliger rained down punches from mount until the fight was stopped.
Winner: Chad Anheliger by TKO (Punches) at 3:33 of round three. He improves to 12-5-0.
Jonathan “JSP” Pearce vs Christian “CeeRod” Rodriguez
Round 1:
Pearce secured a body lock and tried to take Rodriguez down against the cage in the opening two minutes. Rodriguez jumped guard with a tight guillotine choke that had Pearce in trouble, but Pearce managed to hold on long enough for Rodriguez’s arms to fatigue and Rodriguez released the choke. Pearce took Rodriguez’s back and he landed right hands to the side of his face. Rodriguez tried to turn over into top position, but Pearce kept him in place and he continued to throw right hands until the bell. 10-9 Pearce due to the second-half dominance.
Round 2:
Rodriguez landed a lead left hook and a straight right to begin the second round and he pressured Pearce with jab-cross combos. Pearce eventually rushed forward and he slammed Rodriguez down into side control. He trapped Rodriguez’s right arm behind his back and landed two hammerfists, but Rodriguez was able to squirm free and he stood up. Pearce landed a knee on the feet, but he lost his balance with a wild right hook attempt and Rodriguez threw him down into a belly-down armbar position. Pearce escaped from the hold and returned to his feet, then dumped Rodriguez to the mat. He hunted for an arm-triangle choke and then transitioned to Rodriguez’s back. Rodriguez stood and shook him off in the final seconds, and stunned Pearce with a right hook before the bell. 10-9 Pearce.
Round 3:
The final round began with Rodriguez landing overhand rights as Pearce tried to take the fight to the ground. Rodriguez took his back and pulled him down, then transitioned to mount. Pearce gave up his back and stood up, which allowed him to shake Rodriguez off, but Rodriguez cracked him with a vicious elbow. Pearce took Rodriguez down and moved to mount. With two minutes to go, Rodriguez rolled to his side and Pearce took his back in search of a rear-naked choke. He prevented Rodriguez from rolling over and landed two elbows to the side of his head late in the fight. 10-9 Pearce.
Winner: Jonathan Pearce by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 12-4-0.
Mario Bautista vs Jay “Savage” Perrin
Round 1:
Following an exchange of jabs in the opening minute, both men attempted head kicks and Bautista landed a hard one-two. He followed with more punches in a clinch, but Perrin was able to circle away and he landed a lead left hand. Perrin shot in for a takedown, but Bautista got to his feet and pulled his leg free. A clinch ensued on the feet against the cage and Bautista landed knees and an elbow. Perrin responded with a knee of his own on the break and he avoided a jumping switch knee from Bautista before the bell. 10-9 Bautista.
Round 2:
Bautista countered a flying knee attempt from Perrin with a big right hook early in round two. A two-punch combo and a knee also scored for Bautista, but Perrin caught the knee and looked for a takedown. Bautista countered by taking Perrin’s back and he attempted a suplex, but Perrin spun free on the way down and quickly stood up. After Perrin took Bautista down for a split second, Bautista stood and held back control again. Perrin turned into the clinch and ate two hard elbows to the face. As the fighters broke free, Perrin jabbed and Bautista landed a liver kick. Bautista landed a leg kick and a long jab late in the round. 10-9 Bautista.
Round 3:
In the final round, both men landed leg kicks, and Bautista’s had much more power behind them. Perrin attempted a hip-toss takedown and Bautista stayed on his feet. He took Perrin’s back and tried to suplex him, but Perrin maintained his balance. Time was called to replace Perrin’s mouthpiece that had fallen out. Action resumed and Bautista landed three hard elbows to Perrin’s face while holding him against the fence. He followed with another one and blood began to pour from a cut on Perrin’s left cheek. Bautista landed a knee and he took Perrin down into side control. Perrin got back to his feet against the cage and ate a knee to his face. 10-9 Bautista. Close to a 10-8 due to the one-sided action.
Winner: Mario Bautista by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 9-2-0.
