John “Sexi Mexi” Castañeda vs Miles “Chapo” Johns

Round 1:
Castañeda kicked at Johns’s lead leg in the opening minute and Johns responded with a left-right combo. He backed Castañeda up with an overhand right, but Castañeda resumed moving forward and Johns landed another right hand. Time was called when Johns was poked in the eye, but the fight quickly continued and Castañeda landed leg and body kicks. Johns scored with a lunging jab to Castañeda’s nose and he countered a leg kick with a right hook. Castañeda closed out the round with three kicks to Johns’s upper body, which Johns blocked with his arms. Close round. 10-9 Johns.

Round 2:
Time was called right away in round two when Johns was kicked in the groin. The fight continued and Castañeda was the aggressor. He used jabs to set up straight lefts and he hurt Johns with a lead right hook. Johns began to circle away and Castañeda kept the pressure on with jab-cross combos. He hurt Johns with a right hook and chased after him as Johns fell to the mat. Castañeda threw short elbows from the top, but Johns kicked him off and stood up. Castañeda landed a nice left cross late in the round. 10-9 Castañeda.

Round 3:
Castañeda stunned Johns with punches and a knee in the final round, but a fatigued Johns recovered enough to circle away. Castañeda pressed forward and dropped him with a knee, then locked on an arm-triangle choke on the ground. Within seconds, Johns was rendered unconscious and the fight was stopped.

Winner: John Castañeda by Technical Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) at 1:38 of round three. He improves to 19-5-0.

 

“Mean” Hakeem Dawodu vs Michael “The Lone Wolf” Trizano

Round 1:
Trizano opened the fight with two leg kicks, but Dawodu countered the second one with an overhand right and a leg kick of his own. The fighters continued to exchange leg kicks and Dawodu mixed in jabs. He landed a pair of overhand rights and ate a hard right hook counter from Trizano. Dawodu attacked with more calf kicks and one spun Trizano around. Both men landed hooks at the same time and Dawodu clinched, but Trizano broke free with a high knee to his chin. In the final 30 seconds, Dawodu resumed jabbing and he landed one more leg kick. Right hooks were exchanged just before the bell. 10-9 Dawodu.

Round 2:
Dawodu continued to throw leg kicks in the second round, but Trizano clipped him with two left hooks and that prompted Dawodu to clinch. Trizano quickly broke free, but Dawodu tied him up in another clinch and the fighters exchanged knees to the body. Trizano pushed Dawodu away and Dawodu threw a spinning back kick to the body. He followed with a right-left combo and two jabs. Trizano began to back up and Dawodu scored with a hard leg kick. He clinched and held Trizano against the fence until the end of the back-and-forth round. 10-9 Dawodu.

Round 3:
After an exchange of right hooks, Dawodu clinched against the cage and Trizano circled free. Dawodu initiated another clinch, but Trizano countered by taking him down. Dawodu rose to his feet and both men landed knees to the body. A right hook scored for Trizano, but Dawodu quickly answered back with two punches to the body and another clinch. As the fighters separated, both men landed jab-cross combos. Dawodu flurried to the body and he landed a knee in a clinch. Trizano briefly broke free with a right hand over the top, but Dawodu closed in and landed two power hooks to the body before the end of the fight. 10-9 Dawodu.

Winner: Hakeem Dawodu by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 13-2-1.

 

Chidi “Bang Bang” Njokuani vs Marc-André “Power Bar” Barriault

Round 1:
Njokuani landed a massive right hook in the opening seconds that sent Barriault crashing to the mat. Barriault covered up as he kneeled against the base of the cage. Njokuani dove in with rapid-fire left hands that quickly rendered Barriault unconscious and ended the fight.

Winner: Chidi Njokuani by KO (Punches) at 0:16 of round one. He improves to 21-7-0, 1 NC.

 

Alexis “Ally-Gator” Davis vs Julija Stoliarenko

Round 1:
Davis tripped Stoliarenko almost immediately and went to work from top position in her guard. Stoliarenko quickly threw up her legs and locked on a triangle armbar. Davis’s arm was bent back at the elbow, but she refused to submit and managed to spin free from the hold. As Davis landed punches from top position, Stoliarenko secured another armbar and Davis once again acted quickly to escape. She resumed punching from the top and landed some hard strikes to Stoliarenko’s face. Once more, Stoliarenko worked for an armbar from the bottom, but Davis prevented her from extending the arm. She punished her with punches from the top as swelling began to form on Stoliarenko’s forehead. Stoliarenko landed an illegal upkick to Davis’s nose and time was called. A point was not deducted despite the obvious foul and Davis remained on top until the bell. 10-9 Davis.

Round 2:
Davis landed a leg kick and a right hook in the second round, then followed with another leg kick and an overhand right as Stoliarenko backed up. Davis continued to alternate between right hands and leg kicks, but Stoliarenko countered with jabs that reddened Davis’s face and opened a cut beside her right eye. Davis kicked at Stoliarenko’s lead leg and Stoliarenko landed a hard left hook. A bloodied Davis scored with a front kick to the liver and she continued to throw leg kicks, but Stoliarenko countered one with a head kick. It landed flush, but Davis barely flinched. She landed a kick to the body late in the close round. 10-9 Stoliarenko by a slim margin.

Round 3:
Early in the final round, Davis dropped Stoliarenko with a hard calf kick and she entered her guard on the ground. Davis attacked with elbows to Stoliarenko’s forehead and she stayed active with more elbows and punches as the round progressed. Late in the round, Davis landed hard punches and an elbow that opened a bad gash on Stoliarenko’s cheek. Stoliarenko held on from the bottom as Davis continued to strike until the bell. 10-9 Davis, if not a 10-8.

Winner: Alexis Davis by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-27, 29-27) after three rounds. She improves to 21-11-0.

 

Jailton “Malhadinho” Almeida vs Danilo Marques

Round 1:
Almeida took Marques down with a body-lock slam into side control in the early stages of the fight. He trapped Marques’s arm behind his back and then passed to mount. Almeida immediately began battering Marques with big hammerfists from the top. Marques tried to roll to his side, but Almeida countered with a rear-naked choke and that forced Marques to roll to his back again. Almeida resumed striking with punches and hammerfists from mount. He continued to rain down strikes until the brief and one-sided bout was stopped.

Winner: Jailton Almeida by TKO (Punches) at 2:57 of round one. He improves to 15-2-0.

 

Philip “The Fresh Prince” Rowe vs Jason “The Vanilla Gorilla” Witt

Round 1:
Witt opened the fight with a strong calf kick and he lunged forward with a left-right combo. Rowe kept his distance until Witt stepped forward with an overhand right and clinched. He took Rowe down once, but Rowe got back to his feet. Witt slammed him down and almost got to mount, but Rowe managed to hold him in half-guard. Witt struck with right hands to Rowe’s ribs until Rowe shrimped and got to full guard from the bottom. He finally got to his feet in the final seconds and landed a one-two before the bell. 10-9 Witt.

Round 2:
The second round began with early takedown attempts from Witt, who ultimately took Rowe down. He was unable to do anything on the ground, however, and Rowe worked back to his feet. Seconds later, Rowe dropped Witt with a right-left-right combo and followed with two hammerfists on the ground before referee Chris Tognoni intervened to rescue a badly dazed Witt from any further punishment.

Winner: Philip Rowe by TKO (Punches) at 2:15 of round two. He improves to 9-3-0.

 

Malcolm “X” Gordon vs Denys “Psycho” Bondar

Round 1:
Jabs were exchanged and Gordon landed a hard right cross followed by a lead left hook that stunned Bondar, who dragged Gordon down to the mat. Gordon attempted two armbars from the bottom and he used the second one to set up a scramble up to his knees. The fighters stood and clinched against the cage. Gordon threw Bondar down once and Bondar posted with his left arm on the mat as he tried to prevent Gordon from getting him down again. Bondar’s elbow gave out and he fell down against the base of the cage. He screamed out in pain and tapped out, and the fight was stopped. Replays showed that his elbow dislocated as he posted his arm on the ground to try to fend off the takedown.

Winner: Malcolm Gordon by Submission (Dislocated Elbow) at 1:22 of round one. He improves to 14-5-0.
