Max “Pain” Griffin vs “The Natural Born Killer” Carlos Condit

Round 1:
Griffin started quickly with kicks to Condit’s leg and body, then followed with a one-two. He continued to attack both of Condit’s legs with kicks throughout the next two minutes and Condit was unable to land anything in return aside from two body kicks. After an exchange of right hooks, Condit landed another kick to the body and Griffin lunged forward with a hard one-two. He avoided a spinning hook kick from Condit and dropped him with two hooks, then followed with more punches on the ground as Condit covered up. Condit kicked Griffin off and returned to his feet. Griffin landed a leg kick and blocked a head kick before the bell. 10-9 Griffin.

Round 2:
More leg kicks were exchanged in the second round and Condit landed jabs from both stances as he switched between southpaw and orthodox. The fighters traded right hooks again and Condit partially landed with a spinning wheel kick to the body. He scored with a hard right hand to Griffin’s jaw and kept him on the defensive with a one-two and a body kick. Griffin stepped forward and both men landed left hooks at the same time. Condit ended the round with another body kick. 10-9 Condit.

Round 3:
The final round began with both fighters landing jabs and Condit attempted a head kick. Griffin swarmed on him with a combination including two right hooks that landed flush. More punches were exchanged and Condit landed a lead left hand. Griffin connected with a hard combination and followed up with a right hook, but Condit was unfazed and he continued to move forward. Griffin countered a body kick with a right hand, then followed up with a one-two. Condit backed him up with a left hook to the liver and that led to a brief clinch. Griffin landed a big right hand and then took Condit down against the cage. Condit worked back to his feet and eyed a kimura, which he used to pull Griffin down to the mat just before time expired. 10-9 Griffin.

Winner: Max Griffin by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 18-8-0.

 

Michel “Demolidor” Pereira vs Niko “The Hybrid” Price

Round 1:
Pereira landed a lunging jab early in the fight and time was called soon after when he was pokwed in the eye. Action resumed and the fighters battled in a clinch against the cage. Price tried to pull guard and Pereira had none of it. Price blocked a head kick and Pereira just missed with a Superman Punch off of the cage. He landed a hard right hook and a backfist, then lunged forward with an overhand right. Pereira caught a body kick and dumped Price to the mat. Price stood and Pereira landed a knee to the body. He followed with two more knees before separating from the clinch. Pereira countered a leg kick from Price with a body kick and two lead left hooks, and the round ended with an exchange of punches. 10-9 Pereira.

Round 2:
The second round began with Pereira landing body kicks and Price winced in pain as he backed away. Price threw three leg kicks, but Pereira caught one and tripped him to the mat. Pereira did a back flip and wound up on top of Price in mount. He looked to isolate Prices arm, then gave it up in favour of heavy ground and pound from the top. Price gave up his back and Pereira transitioned to mount again. Price spun free and shook Pereira off of his back, then rolled for a heel hook attempt. Pereira pulled his leg out and the fight returned to the feet. Price jabbed his way into a clinch as a fatigued Pereira slowed down. Pereira broke free with 30 seconds to go and he landed two jabs and a knee. The round ended with both men landing power punches. 10-9 Pereira.

Round 3:
Price pressed forward with punches and clinched to begin the final round, but he ate a knee in the process and Pereira quickly circled away. Time was called when Price was kicked hard in the groin. Action resumed after a minute and Price landed a four-punch combo and a grazing head kick. He avoided a jumping knee from Pereira, who fired off two right hooks and continued to circle from side to side. Price just missed with an uppercut and Pereira landed a body kick. A lead left hand scored for Pereira, but Price snapped his head back with a front kick. Pereira landed two knees in a clinch and then broke free. Price tied him up again and Pereira went for a trip takedown, which led to a scramble on the ground. Price landed two elbows as the fighters stood up and both teed off with punches. Pereira tried in vain to get Price down, but Price stayed on his feet and backed him up with a final flurry before the bell. 10-9 Price.

Winner: Michel Pereira by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 26-11-0, 2 NC.

 

Ilia “El Matador” Topuria vs Ryan “The Wizard” Hall

Round 1:
Hall cautiously circled on the outside during the opening minute, then landed a quick spinning back kick and tried to pull Topuria down to the mat. Topuria had none of it and he sidestepped a scissor heel hook attempt from Hall soon after. Hall nearly got Topuria down on his next attempt, but Topuria stayed on his feet. Hall rolled twice for leglocks and Topuria avoided them. He cracked Hall with a right hand and continued to prevent Hall from rolling for leg submissions. Hall landed a spinning wheel kick, but Topuria cracked him with a right hook as he attempted a second spinning kick. Hall fell and Topuria trapped his right arm behind his back. He unloaded with right hands to Hall’s face on the ground until Hall was rendered unconscious and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Ilia Topuria by KO (Punches) at 4:47 of round one. He improves to 11-0-0.

 

Dricus “Stillknocks” Du Plessis vs Trevin “The Problem” Giles

Round 1:
After an exchange of leg kicks, Du Plessis landed two kicks to Giles’s body. Giles landed a lead left hook and a leg kick that backed Du Plessis up, and he followed with a quick combination. The fighters continued to exchange kicks and Giles landed a right hook before Du Plessis clinched and worked for a takedown against the cage. He got Giles down into side control and effortlessly passed to mount. Giles tried to scramble free and gave up his back, but he was able to shake Du Plessis off and the fighters stood up. Du Plessis used a kimura to pull Giles back down and he mounted Giles again. Giles scrambled once more, but found himself in a guillotine choke and Du Plessis used it to push Giles back down to the mat. 10-9 Du Plessis.

Round 2:
Giles jumped in with a flying knee to the chest in the second round and he prevented Du Plessis from taking him down. Giles circled on the outside and the fighters traded left hooks. Giles pressed forward with a slashing elbow and two hard punches, but Du Plessis floored him with a counter right hook. The fight was not immediately stopped, so Du Plessis followed up with more punches on the ground until referee Chris Tognoni intervened.

Winner: Dricus Du Plessis by KO (Punches) at 1:41 of round two. He improves to 16-2-0.

 

Jennifer Maia vs Jessica “Evil” Eye

Round 1:
Eye pressed the action with jabs in the opening minute and Maia answered with occasional right hands while circling to her right. Eye closed in with punches to the body and Maia landed a hard knee to the jaw. Jab-cross combos were exchanged and Maia finished a three-punch flurry with a body kick. Eye landed a kick to the body in response and she remained effective with her jab. Maia grazed with a head kick and both women landed right hands in close. Maia finished her combinations with two leg kicks and she snapped Eye’s head back with a right hook, but Eye clinched and took Maia down shortly before the bell. Close round. 10-9 Maia, barely.

Round 2:
In the second round, Eye remained the aggressor and she once again found success with early jabs. Eye briefly took Maia down, but Maia swept from the bottom and got back to her feet. Eye continued to score with jabs and she avoided a counter right hook from Maia, but Maia cracked her with a second right hand soon after. Eye began to attack Maia’s lead leg with kicks and the fighters traded punches. A huge gash was opened on Eye’s forehead when the fighters inadvertently clashed heads and blood poured from the cut. Maia landed a one-two combo late in the round and the fighters clinched in the final seconds. 10-9 Eye.

Round 3:
Maia scored with an overhand right in the final round and Eye landed a right hand of her own in return. Maia darted in and out with right hooks, but Eye answered with a flurry to the body. Maia continued to find a home for her right hand and she countered an uppercut from Eye with a one-two. As Eye punched to the body, Maia countered with a knee and that led to a clinch against the fence. Maia broke free and she landed a head kick and a knee as Eye continued to move forward with jabs. Very close fight. 10-9 Maia.

Winner: Jennifer Maia by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 19-7-1.

 

Brad Tavares vs Omari “Wolverine” Akhmedov

Round 1:
Tavares landed a nice left hook at the end of an early exchange of punches, which backed Akhmedov up momentarily. A three-punch combo and a leg kick scored for Tavares soon after. Akhmedov shot in for a takedown and briefly got Tavares down to the mat. Tavares stood and Akhmedov held him against the cage. Tavares reversed the clinch and broke free after landing a knee to the body, but Akhmedov cracked him with a looping hook and dropped levels for another takedown. Tavares stayed on his feet and time was called when he was kneed in the groin. Action resumed with an exchange of punching combinations and Tavares finished with a leg kick. He stuffed a takedown and landed a hard one-two shortly before the bell. Back-and-forth round. 10-9 Tavares.

Round 2:
Akhmedov closed the distance with overhand punches in the second round and Tavares countered with two hooks before Akhmedov took him down. Tavares stood up and escaped from the clinch. He hurt Akhmedov with a calf kick and followed with two more leg kicks as Akhmedov slowed down. Leg kicks were exchanged and Akhmedov backed Tavares up with two hooks. Tavares quickly regained his footing and he landed two leg kicks, but Akhmedov countered the second one with an overhand right. In close, Tavares scored with a knee and he followed with another leg kick. Tavares kicked to the body and mixed in two jabs before the end of the round. Another close round. 10-9 Tavares.

Round 3:
Tavares dropped Akhmedov with a leg kick early in the final round and attacked with a second kick to the leg as Akhmedov got back to his feet. Akhmedov connected with a lead left hook and Tavares responded with a leg kick and a jab. Akhmedov countered Tavares’s kicks with overhand rights and he spun Tavares around with a leg kick of his own. Another leg kick landed for Akhmedov, but he failed in his pursuit of a takedown and was forced to flop to his back. Tavares allowed him to stand and he hurt Akhmedov with a counter combination in the final minute as Akhmedov tried to clinch. Tavares bloodied Akhmedov’s nose with more punches and finished the round with a spinning back kick to the body. 10-9 Tavares.

Winner: Brad Tavares by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 19-6-0.

 

Zhalgas “Zhako” Zhumagulov vs Jerome “The Renegade” Rivera

Round 1:
Rivera used his reach advantage to land two leg kicks and one to the body early on. Zhumagulov landed a right hand, but Rivera was much quicker in the exchanges and he landed another body kick. Both men connected with right hands and Zhumagulov landed a huge left hook as Rivera shot in for a takedown. Zhumagulov trapped him in a power guillotine choke as Rivera stood up. Rivera tried to kick off of the cage to alleviate pressure, but Zhumagulov held him in place and cranked on his neck until Rivera tapped out.
