Kennedy “African Savage” Nzechukwu vs Danilo Marques

Round 1:
Marques shot in for a takedown and he took Nzechukwu’s back as Nzechukwu rose to his feet. Marques jumped into a standing body triangle and landed punches to the sides of Nzechukwu’s head as he tried to set up a rear-naked choke. He almost got the choke multiple times and forced Nzechukwu to continue to support his weight all the way until the bell. 10-9 Marques. Could even be a 10-8 due to Nzechukwu playing defence for the entire five minutes.

Round 2:
In the second round, Marques landed kicks to the body and dumped Nzechukwu to the mat, then took his back and trapped him in a body triangle again. When Marques released the body triangle, Nzechukwu stood up with Marques on his back. He broke free from the clinch and landed some solid punches to Marques’s head and body. Marques tied him up in another back clinch, but Nzechukwu escaped from it once more before the bell and landed another combination. Back-and-forth round. 10-9 Nzechukwu due to the late rally.

Round 3:
Nzechukwu closed the distance on a fatigued Marques in the final round and backed him up with straight left hands. Marques covered up and circled to his right as Nzechukwu teed off with punches and referee Jason Herzog waved off the fight.

Winner: Kennedy Nzechukwu by TKO (Punches) at 0:20 of round three. He improves to 9-1-0.

 

Shavkat “Nomad” Rakhmonov vs Michel “Trator” Prazeres

Round 1:
Prazeres opened with a leg kick to the much taller Rakhmonov and he lunged in with lead left hooks. Rakhmonov responded with long jabs and Prazeres clinched. Rakhmonov swept out Prazeres’s leg and took him down. He punched to the body as Prazeres held him in place from the bottom. Rakhmonov stood and dropped a right hand to Prazeres’s face. Prazeres battled back to his feet and Rakhmonov landed a knee to the body. Prazeres tried unsuccessfully for a takedown and Rakhmonov landed another knee to the body. He continued to throw knees in the final seconds. 10-9 Rakhmonov.

Round 2:
Rakhmonov landed a three-punch combo in the second round and he followed with a step-in knee that forced Prazeres to shoot for a takedown. Rakhmonov pushed him down to the ground and dropped three hard right hands to Prazeres’s face. He settled into Prazeres’s half-guard and threw punches, then took his back and locked on a rear-naked choke that forced a seated Prazeres to tap out immediately.

Winner: Shavkat Rakhmonov by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 2:10 of round two. He improves to 14-0-0.

 

Jeremiah Wells vs Warlley Alves

Round 1:
Alves slipped while throwing an early kick and Wells took top position on the ground while holding Alves against the bottom of the cage. Wells trapped Alves’s left arm behind his back and landed right hands to his face from the top in half-guard. He postured up with more punches and an elbow, then landed a hard left hook as Alves rose to his feet. Wells tried unsuccessfully for another takedown and Alves eventually pushed him away. Wells missed with looping right hooks and Alves landed two knees to the body in an ensuing clinch. Wells held him against the cage and Alves jumped guard with a guillotine choke. Wells escaped and Alves stood over him. He landed an axe kick to the chest just as the bell sounded. 10-9 Wells.

Round 2:
Early in the second round, Wells dropped Alves with a counter right hook as Alves threw a body kick. A dazed Alves tried to stand up and Wells landed more right hands that left him unconscious and face-down on the canvas.

Winner: Jeremiah Wells by KO (Punches) at 0:30 of round two. He improves to 9-2-1.

 

Marcin Prachnio vs Isaac “Hurricane Ike” Villanueva

Round 1:
Villanueva hurt Prachnio with an early uppercut and Prachnio covered up as Villanueva threw more punches. Prachnio regained his composure, but a cut was opened below his left eye and Villanueva kept the pressure on with punches. Prachnio created space and threw a spinning wheel kick that partially landed. Villanueva continued to score with uppercuts when Prachnio ducked his head and both men landed right hooks in an exchange. Villanueva blocked a head kick and scored with a one-two and another uppercut. Prachnio hurt Villanueva with two leg kicks, then followed with two more and Villanueva noticeably limped. Villanueva caught a kick and tripped Prachnio to the mat, then battered him with right hands to the face as Prachnio tried to stand against the cage. 10-9 Villanueva.

Round 2:
Prachnio switched stances and landed a liver kick in round two, then followed with three punches to the body. Seconds later, Prachnio landed another liver kick that dropped Villanueva to his knees. He rolled to his back in agony and the fight was waved off.

Winner: Marcin Prachnio by KO (Kick To The Body) at 0:56 of round two. He improves to 15-5-0.

 

Julia “Raging Panda” Avila vs Julija Stoliarenko

Round 1:
Punches were exchanged as the fighters circled in the opening 90 seconds and Avila landed a hard flurry that backed Stoliarenko up. Avila bloodied Stoliarenko’s nose with a knee and more punches, but Stoliarenko held strong and Avila slowed the pace down. She landed one more combination followed by a body kick, but the action remained sparse in the second half of the round. Both fighters landed body kicks in the final 30 seconds. 10-9 Avila.

Round 2:
Stoliarenko landed a nice right hand early in round two and Avila responded with a flurry of punches while moving forward. Stoliarenko took her down and Avila tried to counter with a heel hook. Stoliarenko rolled and attempted a heel hook of her own, then landed right hands to Avila’s face as the fighters rose to their feet. Stoliarenko got Avila down, but Avila reversed into top position and she stood over Stoliarenko while kicking at her legs. Stoliarenko stood and tied Avila up in a clinch. She held Avila against the cage and threw knees to her thighs until the end of the round. 10-9 Stoliarenko.

Round 3:
Avila closed in with punches to begin the final round and Stoliarenko countered with a clinch against the cage. Avila took her down into half-guard and landed short elbows to Stoliarenko’s face. Stoliarenko swept into the scarf hold position with just over two minutes to go, but Avila almost immediately countered by taking her back. She sunk in both hooks and worked for a rear-naked choke. Stoliarenko initially defended well, but Avila secured the choke again and Stoliarenko tapped out.

Winner: Julia Avila by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 4:19 of round three. She improves to 9-2-0.

 

Charles “Boston Strong” Rosa vs Justin “Guitar Hero” Jaynes

Round 1:
Jaynes scored with a huge left hook and two more follow-up punches as he backed Rosa up in the early goings. Rosa recovered and Jaynes landed a hard one-two. Rosa landed a nice combination and Jaynes quickly countered with a right hand. Jaynes mixed up his strikes with leg kicks and lead left hooks, but Rosa pressed forward with a combination and that led to an exchange of punches in close. The fighters traded left hooks and Jaynes landed an overhand right. Rosa punched his way into a clinch and took Jaynes down into side control. He mounted Jaynes and then took his back, but Jaynes escaped out the back and finished the round on top. Close round due to Rosa’s late rally, but still 10-9 Jaynes.

Round 2:
The second round began with Jaynes landing a right hand, but Rosa countered with two leg kicks and he locked on a guillotine choke as Jaynes took him down. Jaynes escaped and stood up, maintaining back control on the way. Rosa turned into the clinch and pulled Jaynes down to the mat with a front choke. He switched to an Anaconda Choke grip, but let it go and Jaynes secured a sweep into top position. A seated Rosa tied Jaynes up and bloodied his nose with hammerfists. As Jaynes tried to scramble free, Rosa trapped him in a crucifix and landed elbows from the back. Jaynes turned into Rosa’s guard late in the round and Rosa held him in a triangle choke until the bell. 10-9 Rosa.

Round 3:
Rosa took Jaynes down in the final round and threatened with a shoulder choke from side control. He let it go and moved to North-South position. Jaynes scrambled free and returned to his feet. As Rosa closed in, Jaynes wobbled him with a counter left hook. He pressed forward with a right hand and hurt Rosa again with more punches. Jaynes then took Rosa down and threatened with a shoulder choke of his own. He switched to an arm-triangle choke grip and passed to the opposite side. Rosa defended well and he eventually forced Jaynes to release the choke. Jaynes settled into Rosa’s guard and Rosa postured for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters stood and Rosa tried for a guillotine choke that he used to get Jaynes down. Rosa attacked with punches to the side of Jaynes’s head until the end of the fight. 10-9 Jaynes by a slim margin. Decision could go either way.

Winner: Charles Rosa by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 14-5-0.

 

Damir “The Bosnian Bomber” Hadžović vs Yancy “The Kid” Medeiros

Round 1:
Hadžović opened the action with leg kicks and a lunging one-two, and the fighters traded leg kicks in the ensuing minute. Medeiros scored with an overhand right and followed with a second one, but Hadžović backed him up momentarily with a left-right combo. He landed a knee to the body and swarmed on Medeiros with punches against the cage. Medeiros circled to his right and Hadžović tripped him with a leg sweep. Medeiros rose to his feet and Hadžović continued to land jab-hook combos. Medeiros threw a spinning back kick to the body and Hadžović fired back with a chopping leg kick before the bell. 10-9 Hadžović.

Round 2:
Early in the second round, Hadžović tripped Medeiros and looked for a rear-naked choke as Medeiros got back to his feet. Medeiros broke free, but Hadžović blasted him with a barrage of heavy punches that opened a cut near Medeiros’s left eye. Medeiros weathered the storm and Hadžović flurried to the body. The fighters separated and Hadžović began to slow down, but he backed Medeiros up with an overhand right and closed in with another combination to the body and head. Medeiros tied him up in a clinch and then landed a pair of overhand rights late in the round. 10-9 Hadžović.

Round 3:
Hadžović stunned Medeiros with a right hand in the final round and he chased after him with left and right hooks as referee Chris Tognoni kept a close eye on Medeiros. When Hadžović’s punches slowed down, Medeiros responded with a combination of his own and followed with an uppercut. A fatigued Hadžović clinched and Medeiros countered by taking his back. He worked for a rear-naked choke and nearly got it, but Hadžović spun to his left and wound up on top. The fighters returned to their feet and Medeiros scored a takedown into half-guard. He struck from the top with elbows, then took Hadžović’s back. Medeiros again hunted for a rear-naked choke, and finally got it late in the round, but time expired. 10-9 Medeiros in an incredible comeback round.

Winner: Damir Hadžović by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 14-6-0.
