Luana Pinheiro vs Randa “Quiet Storm” Markos

Round 1:
Markos aggressively ran at Pinheiro in the opening minute and she landed a flurry of punches, but Pinheiro cacked her with a counter right hook and took Markos down. Markos stood up and Pinheiro threw her down. This sequence repeated itself once more and Pinheiro landed a hard leg kick after Markos returned to her feet. Time was called when Markos was poked badly in her left eye. Markos’s vision gradually improved and the fight was allowed to continue. Markos charged at Pinheiro with punches and dropped her to a knee with a right hook.

Pinheiro immediately stood back up and she threw Markos on her head. Markos stood and closed the distance with punches. She landed short right hands and Pinheiro threw her down again. Pinheiro dropped down into Markos’s guard and Markos kicked her off with one kick to the chest. She landed a second kick to Pinheiro’s face while Pinheiro still had her knees down. Pinheiro fell to her back and time was called due to the illegal upkick. Pinheiro was deemed unfit to continue and the fight was waved off.

Winner: Luana Pinheiro by DQ (Illegal Upkick) at 4:16 of round one. She improves to 9-1-0.

 

“Downtown” T.J. Brown vs Kai “The Fighting Hawaiian” Kamaka III

Round 1:
Brown jabbed and mixed in leg kicks in the opening seconds, but Kamaka connected with a hard right hook in return. Brown resumed throwing jabs and he threw leg and body kicks from a southpaw stance. Kamaka landed a calf kick and both men connected with right hands. Kamaka landed a grazing head kick and a strong kick to the side of Brown’s left knee. Brown landed a quick combination and faked a takedown. He fell while throwing a head kick and Kamaka stood over him. Brown latched on to Kamaka’s left leg as Kamaka dropped two punches to his face. Brown scrambled up to his feet and more punches were exchanged. Kamaka began to bleed from his nose, but he landed another leg kick as Brown threw a right hand. A left hook to the liver scored for Brown late in the round. 10-9 Brown.

Round 2:
Kamaka landed a perfectly-timed head kick early in round two, but Brown was unfazed and he landed a combination in return. Brown stunned Kamaka with a right hook, then hurt him again with another right hand seconds later. Kamaka recovered quickly and he landed a combination, then dropped Brown with a short right hook. Brown shook it off and struck from his back as Kamaka settled into his guard and landed punches. Brown secured a tight kimura on Kamaka’s left arm, but the cage prevented him from rolling Kamaka over and that allowed Kamaka to pull his arm free as the fighters returned to their feet. Kamaka pressed forward with punches and both men landed step-in one-twos. Brown took Kamaka down in the final seconds. Another close round. 10-9 Brown by a slim margin.

Round 3:
Kamaka got Brown down in the second round and he worked from the top for almost two minutes until Brown battled back to his feet against the cage. Both men missed with punches and Brown lost his balance. Kamaka took top position on the ground and he prevented Brown from standing up. Brown briefly looked for a kimura on Kamaka’s left arm and he finally got back to his feet. Brown flurried with punches and he knocked Kamaka down with a counter right hook after catching a body kick. Brown dropped back for an Achilles Lock attempt, but gave up top position in the process. He then attempted one more kimura, this time on Kamaka’s right arm, before time ran out. Very close fight. 10-9 Kamaka.

Winner: T.J. Brown by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 27-30) after three rounds. He improves to 15-8-0.

 

Luana “Dread” Carolina vs Poliana Botelho

Round 1:
Botelho landed right hands and a front kick to the body early on. Carolina switched stances frequently, but she was unable to land much of anything and Botelho connected with an overhand right to her jaw. At the midway point in the round, Botelho punched her way into a clinch and dumped Carolina to the mat. Botelho moved from half-guard to side control and then mount. Carolina held on from the bottom and Botelho spun into an armbar attempt in the dying seconds, but Carolina defended well and the round came to an end. 10-9 Botelho.

Round 2:
The second round began with a prolonged clinch against the cage and both women landed knees to the body as they fought for position. Carolina eventually whipped Botelho down and she looked to set up a Peruvian Necktie as Botelho tried to get back to her feet. Botelho avoided any danger and stood up, then held Carolina against the fence. Another battle for position followed and the fighters continued to exchange knees until the bell. 10-9 Carolina.

Round 3:
Botelho landed a right hook early in the final round and Carolina stepped forward with a lead right hand soon after. Botelho used a body-lock takedown to get Carolina down, but Carolina rolled through and wound up in top position. She took Botelho’s back and tried to sink in both hooks while working for a rear-naked choke. Carolina maintained back control and she threw right hands to the side of Botelho’s head. With ten seconds to go, Carolina partially secured a rear-naked choke, but Botelho held on until time expired. 10-9 Carolina.

Winner: Luana Carolina by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. She improves to 7-2-0.

 

Konklak “Loma Lookboonmee” Suphisara vs Sam “Sampage” Hughes

Round 1:
Suphisara landed two leg kicks and a front kick to the body in the opening minute, which prompted Hughes to clinch. Suphisara countered with knees to her ribs and threw Hughes down to the ground. She landed an elbow from the top and Hughes regained full guard. Suphisara stood and Hughes followed. Suphisara reversed another clinch and tripped Hughes to the mat against the cage. Again, Suphisara stood up and allowed Hughes to follow. Suphisara landed a body kick and Hughes landed a leg kick in return. She clinched with Suphisara and stomped on her foot, but Suphisara scored one more takedown before the bell. 10-9 Suphisara.

Round 2:
The second round began with Suphisara reversing one takedown attempt, but Hughes managed to get her down on her second try and landed short left hands as Suphisara returned to her feet against the cage. Hughes jabbed and Suphisara landed a body kick. This led to another clinch against the cage and Suphisara landed knees to the body. The fighters continued to battle in the clinch and Suphisara landed more knees. In the final seconds, Suphisara pressed forward with punches and knees, and she took Hughes down. 10-9 Suphisara.

Round 3:
Hughes landed a hard jab as Suphisara threw a leg kick in the final round. Suphisara clinched and tried to sweep out Hughes’s legs, but Hughes stayed on her feet and she backed Suphisara up against the cage. Suphisara eventually pushed Hughes away and threw a combination and a body kick. Hughes responded with a right hook and that led to another clinch. Both women landed knees to the other’s ribs and they separated with just over one minute remaining. Suphisara landed a front kick to the body and Hughes clinched once more. The fighters traded knees to the body until the end of the fight. 10-9 Hughes due to control.

Andreas “Spartan” Michailidis vs K.B. “The Bengal” Bhullar

Round 1:
After a tentative opening minute, Michailidis rushed forward with overhand lefts and rights that backed Bhullar up and forced him to circle to his right. Michailidis continued to chase him with punches and he hurt Bhullar with another barrage of hooks. Bhullar clinched and bought time to recover, and Michailidis slowed down after the fighters separated. He landed a head kick and swarmed with punches once more, then pulled Bhullar down into back control. He landed punches and looked for a rear-naked choke and a modified arm-triangle choke before the bell. 10-9 Michailidis, if not a 10-8.

Round 2:
Michailidis ducked his head and continued to throw looping overhand punches in the second round. Time was called when he was kicked in the groin. Action resumed and Bhullar landed kicks to Michailidis’s lead leg. He ducked under a wild right hand from Michailidis and time was briefly called again when Michailidis suffered another groin strike. The fight continued and Michailidis landed a hard one-two. Bhullar blocked a head kick and missed badly with a spinning hook kick attempt. Michailidis pressed forward with a kick-punch combo and he followed with a spinning wheel kick that partially landed late in the round. 10-9 Michailidis.

Round 3:
In the final round, Michailidis landed a spinning back elbow and followed with a quick combination to the body. Bhullar landed kicks to Michailidis’s lead leg and body, which prevented Michailidis from closing the distance to land punches. Time was called when both men threw kicks at the same time and Michailidis was struck in the groin. The fight continued and Bhullar threw front kicks in the final seconds as Michailidis once again closed in with overhand lefts and rights. Close and uneventful final round. 10-9 Michailidis.

Winner: Andreas Michailidis by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 13-4-0.

 

Felipe “Cabocão” Dias Colares vs “Cool Hand” Luke Sanders

Round 1:
Sanders caught a body kick and fired back with a four-punch combo in the opening seconds. The fighters traded kicks to the body and Sanders dropped Colares with a left hook. Colares stood, but Sanders continued to batter him with more punches and a knee. Colares fell and Sanders attacked with elbows from top position. Colares recovered and exploded up to his feet, only to be blasted by another hard combination of punches. Sanders followed up with a pair of straight left hands that prompted Colares to clinch. Sanders broke free and he landed a quick flurry, but Colares backed him up with a right hook. Late in the round, Sanders clinched and tried for a takedown. Good round. 10-9 Sanders.

Round 2:
Colares countered a front kick to the body with a straight right in the second round, but Sanders kept the pressure on with punches and another body kick. He cracked Colares with a combination of hooks to the sides of his head, then took him down. Colares rose to his feet and Sanders landed left crosses. He clinched again and Colares pushed him away. Looping hooks were exchanged and Colares dove at Sanders’s legs. He picked Sanders up and slammed him down, then quickly took Sanders’s back and hunted for a rear-naked choke. He flattened Sanders out and landed numerous punches and hammerfists as Sanders covered up and made it to the bell. 10-9 Colares.

Round 3:
Punches were exchanged in the final round and Sanders threw front kicks to the body until Colares faked a takedown. Sanders circled away and he landed an overhand left as Colares threw a body kick. A combination scored for Sanders and he stuffed a takedown attempt. As Sanders pressed forward with punches, Colares landed a spinning back elbow to his face. Sanders briefly clinched and the fighters exchanged punches and body kicks after separating. Colares reversed a late takedown and took Sanders’s back, but Sanders shook him off and stood up shortly before the bell. Very close round. 10-9 Colares by a slim margin due to the late takedown.
