Alexander “King Kong” Romanov vs Juan “El Guapo” Espino

Round 1:
Espino blocked a head kick and landed a leg kick in return, which prompted Romanov to take him down. Espino worked back to his feet against the cage and Romanov landed a left hook. Espino threw Romanov down into side control and he worked for a far-side keylock on Romanov’s right arm. He mounted Romanov, but Romanov simply powered his way up from the bottom and stood up. Espino briefly took Romanov down again, but he could not keep him there. The round ended with Espino countering a spinning back elbow with a looping right hook. 10-9 Espino.

Round 2:
The second round began with Espino landing a three-punch flurry and an uppercut, but Romanov backed him up with two right hooks and that led to a clinch. Espino allowed himself to be taken down and attempted a guillotine choke in the process. Romanov freed his head and punched from Espino’s guard. Midway through the round, Romanov postured up and rained down heavy shots from the top as Espino covered up. As Espino tried to stand up against the cage, Romanov punished him with right hands to the face. Espino rose to his feet and he held Romanov against the fence. Romanov reversed and attempted a takedown late in the round. 10-9 Romanov.

Round 3:
Espino opened the final round with a clubbing overhand right and he tripped a fatigued Romanov against the cage. Romanov stood and time was called when he was kneed in the groin. Romanov remained down for several minutes and the fight was ultimately waved off after it was determined that he could not continue.

Winner: Alexander Romanov by Technical Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) at 1:05 of round three. He improves to 14-0-0.

 

Jessica Penne vs “Loopy” Lupita Godinez

Round 1:
Penne landed two knees and a combination early on and Godinez scored with a hard left hook in return. Penne clinched and tried to hop on Godinez’s back, but Godinez shrugged her off and tripped her to the mat. She allowed Penne to stand and Penne landed two knees from a Thai clinch. A body kick and a right cross also scored for Penne, but Godinez landed an overhand right in return. Godinez scored an emphatic slam takedown, but she did not go to the ground and allowed Penne to stand again. Godinez attempted a headlock takedown and Penne took her back as the fighters hit the ground. She remained on Godinez’s back as Godinez stood up and worked for a standing rear-naked choke until the final seconds when she tripped Godinez to the mat. 10-9 Penne.

Round 2:
Godinez pressed forward with punches in round two and Penne tried to jump on her back again. Godinez broke free from one clinch, but Penne tied her up again and secured back control. She jumped on Godinez’s back, but Godinez managed to shrug her off and she backed away from the clinch. Godinez caught a kick and threw Penne down, then allowed her to stand back up. Penne landed a combination and Godinez replied with left hooks while backing up. Both women tried for takedowns and Penne wound up on the bottom. She used an inverted body triangle to create a scramble and finished the round on the feet while holding Godinez against the cage. 10-9 Penne.

Round 3:
The final round began with another clinch against the cage and both women were unsuccessful with takedown attempts. Penne jumped guard and tried to posture for a flying triangle choke, but Godinez tossed her to the ground. Two body kicks landed for Godinez and Penne tried to drag her down to the mat. Godinez defended well and Penne threw knees to her thigh. Penne again tried to jump into a flying triangle choke and Godinez held her against the cage. Penne gave up on the choke and the fight ended with a brief exchange of punches. Close final round. 10-9 Godinez by a slim margin.

Winner: Jessica Penne by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. She improves to 13-5-0.

 

Gerald “GM3” Meerschaert vs Bartosz “The Butcher” Fabiński

Round 1:
Meerschaert landed a left hook to open the fight and Fabiński clinched after responding with a one-two. Meerschaert held him against the cage until Fabiński reversed and took him down. Meerschaert locked on a tight guillotine choke on the way down and he used it to roll over into mount. Fabiński tried to escape, but Meerschaert used his legs to trap Fabiński’s and he maintained the guillotine until Fabiński was rendered unconscious.

Winner: Gerald Meerschaert by Technical Submission (Guillotine Choke) at 2:00 of round one. He improves to 32-14-0.

 

Austin “Thud” Hubbard vs Dakota Bush

Round 1:
Hubbard pressed the action in the opening seconds, but Bush countered well with lead hooks, leg kicks and a spinning backfist. Two right hands landed for Bush and Hubbard responded with a left hook to the liver. Bush landed kicks to Hubbard’s lead leg and body, which prompted Hubbard to answer with a right hook and a knee. Time was called when Bush was poked in the eye during an exchange. The fight continued after a break and Hubbard landed two body kicks. Bush continued to score with lead left hooks and he followed with another spinning backfist. Leg kicks were exchanged and Bush attempted a guillotine choke as Hubbard took him down just before time expired. 10-9 Bush.

Round 2:
The second round began with Bush landing an overhand right and a clinch battle ensued against the cage. Bush tried to take Hubbard down, but he wound up on the bottom with Hubbard landing short elbows from the top. Hubbard continued to score with punches and elbows as the round progressed, and a fatigued Bush was unable to get back to his feet. In the final minute, Hubbard passed to half-guard and Bush threw elbows from the bottom. He tried to stand up, but Hubbard pushed him back down and mounted him. Hubbard landed elbows and eyed a keylock late in the round. 10-9 Hubbard.

Round 3:
Big punches were exchanged early in round three and Hubbard landed two hard right hands. Bush worked for a takedown, but Hubbard reversed it and he quickly moved to mount. When Hubbard tried to take Bush’s back, Bush turned into Hubbard’s guard and avoided a triangle choke attempt. Hubbard quickly stood up and tripped Bush once again. Hubbard mounted Bush in the final seconds of the fight and he rained down punches until the bell sounded. 10-9 Hubbard.

Winner: Austin Hubbard by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 13-5-0.

 

Tony Gravely vs Anthony “El Toro” Birchak

Round 1:
Birchak started quickly with jabs and leg kicks, but Gravely countered with a right hook and he took Birchak down into back control. Birchak stood and Gravely held him against the cage. As the fighters separated, Gravely dropped Birchak with two right hooks. He looked to finish the fight on the ground, but Birchak recovered quickly and swept into top position. Birchak landed punches, then pulled guard with a tight guillotine choke. Gravely almost tapped, but he held on and managed to escape. As Birchak tried to stand, Gravely blasted him with heavy right hands. Birchak survived the onslaught and stood up, but Gravely got him back down and he landed a series of left hands to Birchak’s face. Birchak got back to his feet and Gravely hurt him with a right hook at the bell. 10-8 Gravely.

Round 2:
Gravely opened round two with more punches and he took Birchak down against the cage. Birchak scrambled up, but Gravely floored him with a lead left hook and followed up with two hammerfists that ended the fight.

Winner: Tony Gravely by TKO (Punches) at 1:31 of round two. He improves to 21-6-0.
