Devonte “King Kage” Smith vs Justin “Guitar Hero” Jaynes

Round 1:
Jaynes had early success with leg kicks and Smith responded with two stiff jabs that backed him up. Smith continued to score with jabs and two body kicks as Jaynes kept his distance. An overhand right scored for Jaynes and Smith appeared to be stunned momentarily. He recovered and threw a head kick, then a quick one-two. Jaynes caught a kick and Smith, balancing on one leg, blasted him with punches and hammerfists. Jaynes let go of his leg and Smith closed in with a knee as Jaynes missed with a wild left hook late in the round. 10-9 Smith.

Round 2:
Smith reversed a clinch and whipped Jaynes down to the mat in round two. He worked from the top in side control and landed short elbows to Jaynes’s face. Smith passed to mount and he dropped punches from the top that forced Jaynes to give up his back. Smith locked on a rear-naked choke and Jaynes managed to break his grip. He scrambled into top position and Smith quickly stood up. Time was called to check on Jaynes’s rapidly-swelling left eye, which had been damaged by Smith’s punches from mount. Jaynes could not open his eye at all and the fight was waved off.

Winner: Devonte Smith by TKO (Doctor Stoppage – Damaged Eye) at 3:38 of round two. He improves to 11-2-0.

 

Karol Rosa vs Joselyne “La Pantera” Edwards Laboriel

Round 1:
Rosa wasted no time in taking Edwards down and she threw left hands to Edwards’s body and head from the top. Action was sparse on the ground, but Rosa maintained top position in Edwards’s half-guard. In the final two minutes, Rosa mounted Edwards and she punched from the top, but Edwards hooked Rosa’s arms with her legs and escaped out the back. She briefly took Rosa’s back as the fighters returned to their feet. Rosa landed a lead left hook and the fighters traded punches in close. Edwards reversed a late-round takedown and Rosa attempted an armbar at the bell. 10-9 Rosa.

Round 2:
Rosa hurt Edwards with two leg kicks in the second round and she followed with knees in a Thai clinch. Edwards slowed way down and Rosa landed two more leg kicks. Edwards rushed forward with a solid flurry, but Rosa held her ground and she returned fire with punches and leg kicks. Another lunging combination scored for Edwards and Rosa, bleeding heavily from the mouth, took Edwards down into half-guard. As blood poured out of Rosa’s mouth, she landed left hands from the top until the end of the round. 10-9 Rosa.

Round 3:
The final round began with a quick takedown from Rosa and Edwards tied her up from the bottom. Rosa eventually stood up and she allowed Edwards to follow. Leg kicks were exchanged and Rosa pushed Edwards up against the fence. Edwards defended well for several minutes, but Rosa managed to take her down and she passed to half-guard. Late in the round, Rosa moved to mount and she rained down punches until the final bell. 10-9 Rosa.

Winner: Karol Rosa by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. She improves to 14-3-0.

 

Lara Procópio vs “Meatball” Molly McCann

Round 1:
Punches were exchanged in the opening seconds and McCann landed two left hooks in close. After an exchange of knees, Procópio dropped levels for a takedown and McCann defended with punches. She reversed the clinch and stomped on Procópio’s foot. Procópio threw McCann down to the mat and landed on top in McCann’s half-guard. She passed to side control and hunted for a Brabo choke as McCann tried to get back to her knees. Procópio kept McCann down, but McCann regained full guard. This forced Procópio to stand up and she dove back in with a right hand. Procópio mounted McCann with 30 seconds to go and then took her back. She used punches to set up a late rear-naked choke attempt, but time expired. 10-9 Procópio.

Round 2:
McCann pressed the action with a combination in the second round, but Procópio responded with quick punches and a knee that led to a clinch against the fence. Procópio used a body-lock takedown to get McCann down into side control. McCann got back to full guard and she locked on a tight armbar from the bottom. Procópio was in some trouble, but she managed to break McCann’s grip twice and Procópio took top position in McCann’s half-guard. McCann worked back to her feet against the cage and Procópio got her down with 30 seconds to go. She avoided a McCann upkick and landed a right hand from the top. Close round. 10-9 McCann due to the armbars.

Round 3:
Both women attempted takedowns during a clinch battle in the final round and Procópio eventually got McCann down into full guard. Procópio dropped back for a heel hook and McCann rolled to her right. She escaped from the hold and stood up against the cage. Procópio dragged her down into back control and McCann rolled over. She tried to stand up and Procópio pushed her down face-first to the canvas. Procópio took McCann’s back once more and she threw punches to the side of her face until the bell. 10-9 Procópio.

Winner: Lara Procópio by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-27, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 7-1-0.

 

Seung Woo “Sting” Choi vs Youssef “The Moroccan Devil” Zalal

Round 1:
Choi landed an overhand right and a one-two combination early in the fight as Zalal circled to his left. Zalal jabbed and Choi grazed with a head kick. Zalal shot in for a takedown and Choi countered with a knee. Zalal jabbed and tried again for a takedown, but Choi stuffed it and Zalal pinned him against the cage. He was unable to get Choi down and Choi landed elbows and shoulder strikes until the fighters were separated. Choi backed Zalal up with a combination and the fighters traded body kicks. Choi landed a flurry late in the round and he scored a takedown just before the bell. 10-9 Choi.

Round 2:
Choi punched his way into a clinch in round two and Zalal countered with a guillotine choke attempt that he used to reverse the clinch. A lengthy battle for position followed against the cage and the fighters were separated. Choi finished a combination with a body kick and he pressed forward with a one-two that led to another clinch. Choi threw short strikes in close until the fighters separated late in the round. Zalal slipped while throwing a front kick and Choi rushed forward with punches as Zalal returned to his feet. Close round. 10-9 Choi.

Round 3:
The final round began with Choi landing a series of leg and body kicks. Zalal attempted a throw and Choi defended. The fight returned to the feet and a clinch battle followed until Zalal picked Choi up and slammed him down. Zalal immediately attacked with a guillotine choke from the top and Choi reversed into top position. Zalal worked for a triangle choke from the bottom as Choi postured up with right hands. The fighters stood up and Zalal dropped levels for a takedown. He dragged Choi down and took his back as Choi stood up. Zalal tried for a late-fight guillotine choke, but Choi pulled his head out before time expired. 10-9 Zalal.

Winner: Seung Woo Choi by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 9-3-0.

 

“Lucky” Timur Valiev vs Martin “The Spartan” Day

Round 1:
Valiev attacked Day’s left leg with kicks throughout the opening minute and Day countered a kick-punch combo with three quick punches in close. Valiev grabbed on to his leg and attempted a takedown, then settled for back control as the fighters stood against the cage. He triangled his legs around Day’s left leg and peppered him with left hands to the face. Valiev eventually tripped Day and he worked from the top in Day’s guard. Day defended well from the bottom and he landed two elbows to the top of Valiev’s head late in the round. 10-9 Valiev.

Round 2:
The second round began with Valiev landing more quick leg kicks and he followed with an overhand right. Valiev took Day down and he landed short left hands from the top in Day’s half-guard. Valiev passed to side control and he threw elbows to Day’s body while looking to set up a guillotine choke. Valiev let it go in favour of landing more punches from the top, but Day scrambled his way back to full guard. Valiev later passed to half-guard again and he landed more punches as Day tried to tie him up. Valiev mounted Day and briefly took his back in the final seconds, but Day reversed into top position. 10-9 Valiev.

Round 3:
Day blocked a head kick from Valiev early in round three, but Valiev took him down once again and he worked from Day’s half-guard. Day got back to full guard, but Valiev postured up and landed a hard right hand. Day tried to work his way back up against the cage and Valiev took his back. He dumped Day to the mat again and he switched from back control to an arm-triangle choke attempt from the top. Day escaped and Valiev landed punches from side control. Day tried to get back to his feet and Valiev kept him down until the end of the fight. 10-9 Valiev.

Winner: Timur Valiev by Unanimous Decision (30-25, 30-25, 30-26) after three rounds. He improves to 17-2-0, 1 NC.

 

Ode “The Jamaican Sensation” Osbourne vs Jerome “The Renegade” Rivera

Round 1:
Osbourne countered an early head kick with a straight left hand that floored Rivera against the base of the cage. Osbourne dove in with rapid-fire punches on the ground and the brief fight was stopped.

Winner: Ode Osbourne by TKO (Punches) at 0:26 of round one. He improves to 9-3-0, 1 NC.
