Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal vs Daron “The Detroit Superstar” Cruickshank

Round 1:
Cruickshank floored Masvidal with a right hook in the opening minute and he just missed with a spinning wheel kick as Masvidal returned to his feet. Masvidal jumped in with a series of knees before Cruickshank could circle away. Masvidal ducked into a head kick and Cruickshank mixed things up with punches and a leg kick. Masvidal pressed forward with a combination and he stuffed a takedown. He landed a body kick and took Cruickshank down just before the bell. 10-9 Masvidal by a slim margin.

Round 2:
Cruickshank took Masvidal down in the second round, but Masvidal reversed and wound up on top. He stood and Cruickshank landed upkicks. Masvidal returned to Cruickshank’s half-guard and locked on a Brabo choke. Cruickshank refused to submit and Masvidal eventually released the hold. He rained down elbows and Cruickshank had to scramble to get back to full guard. Masvidal landed more elbows and he finished the round on top. 10-9 Masvidal. Close to a 10-8.

Round 3:
Masvidal countered a right hand from Cruickshank with a stiff jab early in round three. Cruickshank landed a knee, but Masvidal clinched and took his back against the cage. Cruickshank rolled and wound up in another Brabo choke. Masvidal let it go and Cruickshank used a quick kimura attempt to get back to his feet. He jumped onto Masvidal’s back as the fight hit the ground again, but Masvidal shrugged him off and wound up on top. He threatened with an arm-triangle choke and landed punches and knees to the body until the end of the fight. 10-9 Masvidal.

Winner: Jorge Masvidal by Unanimous Decision (29-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 27-8-0.

 

Patrick “Durkin” Cummins vs Kyle “Kingsbu” Kingsbury

Round 1:
Cummins took Kingsbury down against the cage early in the fight and he got him back down for a second time soon after. From the top, Cummins landed short elbows and secured a front headlock. Kingsbury stood and Cummins threw him down again. The fight returned to the feet and Kingsbury kicked out Cummins’s lead leg. Cummins stood and scored a takedown into half-guard. He landed more elbows and tried for another front choke before the bell. 10-9 Cummins.

Round 2:
Kingsbury landed leg kicks in round two, but Cummins was relentless in his pursuit of the takedown and he got Kingsbury down against the cage. Kingsbury battled back to his feet, but he ate punches on the way up and Cummins pressed forward with a body kick. He landed a stiff jab and dumped Kingsbury to the mat. Cummins rained down punches and elbows until the end of the round. 10-8 Cummins.

Round 3:
Cummins took Kingsbury down and smothered him with punches and elbows in the final round. Kingsbury scrambled back to his feet and circled away from the clinch, but he was unsteady on his feet. Cummins threw one-twos and a head kick as time ticked down and he bullied Kingsbury to the ground again. As Kingsbury stood, Cummins secured a modified guillotine choke. He switched to a Brabo choke and took Kingsbury down as the round expired. 10-8 Cummins.

Winner: Patrick Cummins by Unanimous Decision (30-24, 30-25, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 6-1-0.

 

Tim “The Dirty Bird” Means vs Hernani Perpetuo

Round 1:
Perpetuo cracked Means with left and right hooks in the opening seconds and Means was forced to shoot in for a takedown. The fight remained on the feet and Perpetuo landed more looping hooks. A four-punch flurry and a head kick backed Means up, but he answered back with a series of standing elbows. Perpetuo kicked to the body and time was called when he was poked in the eye. Action resumed and Perpetuo was angered by an inadvertent headbutt. He landed a series of punches late in the round. 10-9 Perpetuo.

Round 2:
Perpetuo continued to throw looping one-two combos in the second round. He kicked to the body and Means replied with three punches. He hurt Perpetuo with a left hand and rushed in with a knee. Perpetuo circled away and recovered, but Means began to pick him apart with jabs. Means landed one-twos and knees, and he mixed things up with body kicks. Perpetuo landed a leg kick and a right hook in the final ten seconds. 10-9 Means.

Round 3:
Means stayed just outside of Perpetuo’s range in the final round and he countered nicely with kicks to the lead leg and body. Perpetuo landed leg kicks of his own, but his left arm appeared to be injured and he let it hang at his hip as Means teed off with punches. Means looked for a takedown and the fight ended against the fence. 10-9 Means.

Winner: Tim Means by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 21-6-1.

 

Brian “T-City” Ortega vs Mike “El Cucuy” De La Torre

Round 1:
De La Torre rushed in with punches right away, but Ortega remained calm and he scored a takedown into back control. De La Torre stood with Ortega on his back and Ortega worked for a rear-naked choke. He got it on his second try and De La Torre was forced to submit just as he began to lose consciousness.

Winner: Brian Ortega by Submission (Rear-Naked Cboke) at 1:39 of round one. He improves to 9-0-0.

 

Tiago “Trator” dos Santos e Silva vs Akbarh “El Caballero” Arreola

Round 1:
The fight began with body kicks from the southpaw Arreola and Silva slipped while throwing a kick of his own. More kicks were exchanged and Silva countered a body kick with a winging right hook. He scored with two more looping rights and followed with a left. Silva remained aggressive with his strikes in the final minute, but Arreola threw him to the mat and landed punches just as the bell sounded. Very close round. 10-9 Arreola.

Round 2:
Silva knocked Arreola down with a counter kick in round two and he stood over his downed opponent. Little transpired and the fight returned to the feet. Silva kicked at Arreola’s legs and Arreola missed with a spinning hook kick. Silva backed Arreola up with a right hand, but Arreola regained his footing and countered with a body kick. He tripped Silva very briefly, but Arreola finished the round strong with another body kick. 10-9 Silva.

Round 3:
Silva was aggressive with right hooks and body kicks in the final round, but Arreola replied with a nice combination. A lunging left hook landed for Arreola and Silva fired back with an uppercut and a knee. Arreola connected with another flurry, but Silva picked up the pace and punished Arreola with punches and knees to the body. He kept him pinned against the cage until the end of the fight. 10-9 Silva.

Winner: Tiago dos Santos e Silva by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 19-4-2, 1 NC.

 

Gilbert “Durinho” Burns vs Andreas “Real Steel” Stahl

Round 1:
The fighters battled in a clinch against the cage throughout the opening round. Both landed knees and elbows, but neither could secure a takedown. Stahl cut Burns near the right eye with an elbow and the fighters traded big punches before clinching again. Burns broke free and landed an uppercut that caused Stahl’s nose to bleed. He got Stahl down very briefly and the close round ended in another clinch. 10-9 Burns, barely.

Round 2:
Stahl pressed the action in round two, but Burns countered with some nice kicks and uppercuts. He landed a combination in close and Stahl fired off a spinning backfist that was narrowly blocked. Burns mixed things up with kicks and knees to the body and he took Stahl down into side control. Stahl scrambled back to his feet and landed a three-punch combo. Burns responded with an uppercut and a spinning back kick. 10-9 Burns.

Round 3:
Burns backed Stahl up with punches in the final round and clinched against the fence. Stahl continued to bleed heavily from his damaged nose and the fighters traded left hooks and uppercuts. Stahl chased Burns around the cage and threw kicks to the body. Burns jumped in with a flying knee and he followed with a spinning back elbow. The round ended with both men landing body kicks and overhand rights. Another close round. 10-9 Burns.

Winner: Gilbert Burns by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 8-0-0.

 

Joanna Jędrzejczyk vs Juliana “Ju Thai” de Lima Carneiro

Round 1:
Lima initiated an early clinch against the cage and she worked for a takedown until she was able to briefly get Jędrzejczyk down to the mat. Jędrzejczyk stood and the fighters were separated. Jędrzejczyk landed two hard right hands and Lima clinched once again. She was unable to get Jędrzejczyk down and the fighters were separated once more. Jędrzejczyk landed left and right hooks late in the round. 10-9 Jędrzejczyk.

Round 2:
Jędrzejczyk mixed things up with overhand rights and left hooks to the body in round two. Both women landed hard punches in an exchange and Jędrzejczyk followed with a body kick and a knee. She scored with jab-hook combos throughout the round and Lima clinched against the fence. Knees were exchanged and Jędrzejczyk snuck in an elbow over the top. Referee Mike Beltran separated the fighters and Jędrzejczyk stuffed another takedown. She landed a front kick to the face and more punches before the bell. 10-9 Jędrzejczyk.

Round 3:
Both women landed jabs early in the final round and Jędrzejczyk continued to throw overhand rights around Lima’s left hand. More hooks landed for Jędrzejczyk to the head and body and she blocked a head kick. Lima secured a body-lock takedown into side control, but Jędrzejczyk quickly regained half-guard. Lima worked for a top-side guillotine choke and Jędrzejczyk prevented her from passing to mount. She worked back to her feet and landed short knees before the bell. Close final round. 10-9 Jędrzejczyk.

Winner: Joanna Jędrzejczyk by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 7-0-0.

 

Noad “Neo” Lahat vs “Super” Steven Siler

Round 1:
Lahat scored an early takedown and Siler looked to set up a submission from his back. Little transpired on the ground and the fighters were stood up. Lahat landed a nice right hand and he countered a leg kick with a one-two. He took Siler down again, but Siler used the cage to work back to his feet. He broke away with a knee and a jab, then stunned Lahat with an uppercut. Lahat took Siler back down before the end of the close round. 10-9 Lahat.

Round 2:
Siler hurt Lahat with another uppercut in round two, but Lahat recovered and landed a head kick. The fighters traded kicks and right hands. Siler landed jabs and kept his distance. Lahat finally got him down and Siler immediately attempted an armbar. Lahat took his back and transitioned from a rear-naked choke to a triangle choke in a quick scramble. Lahat landed elbows and rolled into a top-side triangle choke before time expired. 10-9 Lahat.

Round 3:
Siler countered a takedown by taking Lahat’s back early in the final round. He locked on a body triangle and prevented Lahat from turning into his guard. The fight eventually returned to the feet and Siler landed a lead left hook. He wobbled Lahat with two more punches and time was called after Siler was kicked in the groin. Action resumed and Siler rushed forward with punches. He got Lahat down and flattened him out from back control in the final ten seconds. 10-9 Siler.
