“Strasser” Kiichi Kunimoto vs Daniel Sarafian

Round 1:
Kunimoto closed the distance and eventually secured a takedown in the opening round. He initiated a scramble on the ground and took Sarafian’s back in the process. Within seconds, Kunimoto locked on a lightning-fast rear-naked choke and Sarafian struggled to break his grip. He could not escape and was forced to submit.

Winner: Kiichi Kunimoto by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 2:52 of round one. He improves to 17-5-2, 1 NC.

 

Valérie “Trouble” Létourneau vs Elizabeth Phillips

Round 1:
Phillips punched her way into an early clinch, but Létourneau shrugged her off. Phillips landed right hands and a combination, which was answered by a quick flurry from Létourneau. Stiff jabs and right hands connected for Phillips and Létourneau countered with left hooks that set off an exchange of big power punches. Létourneau’s left eye began to swell up and Phillips landed more right hands.

Phillips maintained an advantage in the striking exchanges by landing one-two combos that kept Létourneau on the defensive. Létourneau regained her footing and landed a grazing head kick, but Phillips remained the aggressor. She clinched and backed Létourneau up against the cage. Létourneau broke free and Phillips landed a combination. Létourneau stunned her with a head kick and a flurry that led to another big exchange at the bell. 10-9 Phillips.

Round 2:
Létourneau opened round two with short uppercuts in close and Phillips landed a front kick to the jaw. Létourneau clinched briefly and she landed more uppercuts seconds later. Phillips backed her up to the cage and Létourneau’s left eye had completely swelled shut. After separating, Phillips landed a chopping leg kick and Létourneau fired back with a crisp flurry.

Létourneau fired off a lengthy combination of punches that landed squarely on Phillips’s jaw. She followed with a glancing head kick and Phillips pressed forward with punches. Phillips began to slow down and Létourneau started to pick her apart with straight shots. A knee hurt Phillips and she turned away. She recovered and threw sloppy punches until the end of the round. 10-9 Létourneau.

Round 3:
Phillips rushed in for a takedown in round three and Létourneau stuffed it. She hurt Phillips with a quick flurry and a body kick and followed with uppercuts. Phillips held Létourneau against the fence and Létourneau countered with knees. She created space and landed a nice body kick. The fighters traded punches and Létourneau got the better of the exchange as Phillips continued to slow down. Létourneau countered Phillips’s punches effectively with uppercuts and body kicks until the end of the fight. 10-9 Létourneau.

Winner: Valérie Létourneau by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 6-3-0.

 

Yves “Tiger” Jabouin vs Mike “The Hulk” Easton

Round 1:
Time was called early in the fight after Easton was inadvertently poked in the eye. Action resumed and Easton landed a leg kick and two overhand rights. He hurt Jabouin with more right hands and Jabouin countered with a takedown. Jabouin landed short elbows from the top until Easton used the cage to get back to his feet. Jabouin tripped Easton, but Easton stood and landed knees in close. Once more, Jabouin took Easton down. Easton got back up and tripped Jabouin to the mat. Jabouin stood and the fighters traded punches. Easton landed knees late in the close round. 10-9 Easton.

Round 2:
Jabouin kicked to the body in round two and followed with a nice uppercut. Easton dove in with lunging left hooks that missed. Jabouin stuffed a takedown and took Easton’s back. He dragged Easton down, but could not hold him there for long. Jabouin scored with some hard knees and uppercuts in close and he took Easton down again. He landed punches from Easton’s butterfly guard until the fighters were stood up. Easton landed a left hook and ate a head kick and a right hand in return. 10-9 Jabouin.

Round 3:
The fighters battled for position against the cage in the final round and both landed knees and short punches in the clinch. Three consecutive knees and a body kick scored for Jabouin and he shot in for a takedown. Jabouin flattened Easton out and took his back. Easton tried to roll to escape, but Jabouin maintained top position. Easton used a kimura to sweep into side control, but he let it go. Jabouin tried to sweep back and Easton moved to North-South position. Jabouin fought back to guard and Easton punched to the body until the final bell. 10-9 Easton, barely.

Winner: Yves Jabouin by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 20-9-0.

 

Tae Hyun “Supernatural” Bang vs “Ragin'” Kajan Johnson

Round 1:
Johnson was very aggressive with punches and a head kick early in the fight, but Bang countered with a clinch. Johnson took him down and worked briefly from side control. The fight returned to the feet and Johnson kept the pressure on, but Bang dropped him with a left hook. Johnson recovered on the ground and he scrambled back up to his feet. Bang landed more looping hooks and Johnson answered with a head kick and a knee. He took Bang down into side control, but Bang tied him up until the bell. Close opening round. 10-9 Bang by a slim margin.

Round 2:
Both fighters scored with punches in round two and Johnson mixed up his strikes to the head and body. Bang stunned Johnson with a one-two and Johnson responded with a takedown. Bang swept into top position, but he began bleeding heavily from the nose. Johnson took Bang’s back in a scramble and the fighters stood. Johnson dumped Bang to the mat again, but Bang worked back to his feet and the fighters exchanged sparse strikes in the final minute. Another close round. 10-9 Bang.

Round 3:
Bang landed a hard left-right combo early in the final round and Johnson began to throw kicks to the body. He fired off a head kick, but Bang caught it on his shoulder and floored Johnson with a massive right hook. Referee John McCarthy intervened to rescue a barely conscious Johnson from any further damage.

Winner: Tae Hyun Bang by KO (Punch) at 2:01 of round three. He improves to 17-8-0.

 

Undercard Fights:

– Michinori Tanaka defeated “Stunning” Roland Delorme by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 10-0-0 with the win.

– Jason Saggo defeated Josh Shockley by TKO (Punches) at 4:57 of round one. He improves to 10-1-0 with the win.
